Do not waste your time!! I made an appointment and she canceled 40 mins before my massage, she said she had an emergency. So I rescheduled, only to have her cancel again 1hr before my massage!! This time she said it was because I have dual coverage - I texted her back explaining that only my primary insurance will cover massage, so she doesn't have to worry about the other insurance. I had sent her my insurance card 6 days before my 2nd appointment, but she waits until 1 hr before my appointment to tell me this. Not a good way to do business!! read more

Unprofessional. I was recommended by my doctor to Body Works because of tight muscles around my lungs. I read the only 2 reviews on Yelp, prior to making an appt. Since they were so close to my Dr., I stopped in right away to try to get set up. FRONT DESK: The lady at the front desk was less than eager to obtain my insurance coverage info right away to see if I could get a same-day appt. I had a feeling my insurance didn't provide massage coverage, but entertained the idea anyway. She set me up for an appt the following day, and I thought I would get call to let me know if my insurance covered my visit or not. I never received a call, and showed up promptly at my appt time the next day. I quickly filled out papers (as I had forgotten at home the ones I had filled out already to be expedient). WAITING: After turning in my paperwork, I was seated in a waiting room with leather-like chairs that made awkward noise every time you move the slightest bit. I waited 20 mins (playing on my phone to waste time). I went back out to the front desk and asked what time my ACTUAL appt time was scheduled. She said 1:00...(but I was told the day before that it was 12:30). I rushed to be on time at 12:30. It would have been courteous for the front desk to inform me when I made the appt that I was to show at 12:30 for an appt at 1:00. I was becoming anxious thinking they were wasting my time. SMALL ROOM: Finally 1:00 came around and I was promptly called into a room with the massage therapist 'Kitty'. She was very friendly. BUT THE ROOM WAS TINY! There were two plastic hooks for a purse and jacket, but no where to put shoes or pants! You would think they would have a bench or shelf, but no. I snugged them up to the wall as close as I could. GUM CHEWING: Kitty gave a good massage overall (except for when she'd press too hard on the jawline area and I didn't like having my esophagus massaged). But, the rest of the massage was very good. HOWEVER, she was chewing gum! Professional 101 is NOT to CHEW GUM while administering a massage right? You're in a quiet intimate setting where almost everything can be heard (even over the loud fan in the ceiling). I could hear her saliva swoosh around and the teeth chew the gum here and there throughout the entire massage. My massage lotion was unscented, but everyone once in a while I would catch the smell of minty gum. Just to be sure, I noticed it in her mouth after the massage as she bid me farewell. Overall, I'm not going back. The massage itself was pretty good and worth the money, but all the other things have caused me to cross this place off the list. read more

I'm a frequent patient at Body Works Massage Clinic in Covington, WA. (I probably have an appointment scheduled once every three weeks.) Please know that not only is the employee at the front desk knowledgeable about insurance processes, co-pays, etc but she always let's me know when my deductible has been met. The process is smooth and they keep track of insured number of massages remaining for the year. Even though Body Works is going through transitions, I think they've finally now found a permanent and knowledgeable front desk employee. Additionally, Amy, my massage therapist, is professional, friendly and understands my tight muscle needs with her intense deep tissue massage techniques and flow. She makes frequent updates to my chart when I address/communicate various muscles tightness and/or fatigue. This way every appointment is tailored to meet the needs of my sore muscles at that time. read more

I could write a long review just about the confusion of trying to book an appointment which was changed by them three times, but I'm just going to put this out there instead: It should NOT take five days to RECOVER from a "massage." There should NOT be extensive bruising. NO actual trained and licensed massage therapist would argue that it's supposed to hurt when you ask for less pressure. In hindsight, that's where I should have just left, but since they make you both pay AND TIP in advance, I didn't. I regret going here. They don't even deserve the minimum one star. read more

I went here for a prenatal massage with there massage therapist wendi, so disappointed! I have had several massages in the past and kinda know what to expect at this point. The room was way to cold, music not loud enough, so I kept on hearing her heavy breathing and she didnt really relive any pain. Felt like she didnt really know what she was doing! To bad, cause I was really hoping this would be a good place! I was very pleased with Alex at the front desk, she was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I will not be returning here. Recently was involved in a car accident. I live in the area and decided to have my chiropractor give me a rx for a local massage clinic. (was going out of town for chiro due to work). I only wanted to have one or two different therapists because I felt that it would be better care for me if I limited it that way. My rx was for a couple times a week. I was given Kitty, she made me feel comfortable and has exceeded my expectations. She always asks if there is something we should concentrate on, and I love coming to see her. Very professional and is always ready for me when I show up. Would like to continue seeing her after my prescription is over. Great place to go and their prices seem very reasonable if you don't have a insurance or pip claim.. good job guys. read more

I had one massage here one time and will not be back. Most notably at first, they were very unprofessional. I'd copied paperwork from internet and filled out in advance. On arrival, I was asked to have a seat. The same person at the front desk came and said she was ready. I had to ask who she was and if she was the therapist, as she never introduced herself and she looked very young. I submitted the paperwork to her. When she returned, I asked if she'd read it and she said no. I have had lots of massage and have a complicated medical history relevant to massage. This concerned me. I was also disappointed to have a new therapist to the clinic who was very young. I'd specifically requested someone older with extensive experience due to my medical history. The massage was not therapeutic, not effective at all. When I was exiting the building, the therapist said I needed to fill out the paperwork that we'd already talked about and that she held in her hand! Again, no receptionist and no way to schedule appointments. Later that afternoon, I received a voice message that said I needed to come back and fill out the paperwork! No way! Something is wrong with this clinic. It is not well appointed or managed and seems to be in a state of disarray. read more

I have been to a lot of massage places but never had a bad experience with customer service. I have went to this massage place in the past and never had a problem. I schedule a massage and gave them over a week to send my insurance company the correct paperwork. The day of my massage Rosa (manager and insurance specialist) called me and left me a massage stating that they could not see me that day and they could not see me until they got the approval from my insurance company. I call and asked when they sent the paperwork into the insurance company and she stated that she sent it in on Friday. She stated that they were change systems and she did not have time to contact the insurance company. My appointment was on Monday. So she gave the insurance company no time to reply to her. I called the insurance company after getting off the phone with her and they stated that they had just received the information about 4 minutes ago. After getting off the phone with the insurance company I call back and asked her to leave a message for the owner to call me back. I have not heard back for the owner so I call today and Rosa was so rude. She never apologize or anything. She was just like what ever. I told her that I want to cancel my daughter and my appointments and would like to talk to the owner. She stated that she let the owner know but she just had a baby and will call me back when she wants to. In a very snippy voice she asked if she could do anything else for me. I don't have words to describe how disappointed I was with this massage clinic. I called the number listed first and received an answering machine. I left a message but did not receive a call back. I proceeded online and made an appointment for next day. I'd never heard of this place before (but it was close to work). Online, you are asked to give your credit card information to make an appointment. I received numerous emails after I entered my card, telling me the appointment was confirmed. I arrived on time and was asked to fill out paperwork and to pay for the visit. I responded that I paid online and the receptionist said nothing is ever charged online. Confused, I handed over my credit card again. I waited for my name and a gentlemen approached me, appearing very nervous. He asked me what I needed and after telling him, he said that he was leaving to wash his hands. When he returned, he fumbled to adjust the chair for me and proceeded to massage my neck and shoulders. It was uncomfortable, but to be expected to a degree if he's working out kinks and tightness. I had a 30 min massage booked and made it through 15 mins before I stopped him. He was breathing on my neck (like exhaling) and the technique was really rough. I asked him to stop on the right side. He simply went to the other side and started the same painful procedure. The room seemed very hot and I started to feel lightheaded. I told him that I was done. I asked for water. He brought back a small cup of water, left the door open and disappeared. I composed myself and headed out of the room. As I got to the front door, the receptionist (who charged me) said, you look sweaty. I replied, I'm hot and light headed and just want to go outside to get some air. I sat in my car, until I felt as if I could drive home. If it stopped there, I would have just chocked it up to a bad massage and that would have been fine. But within a few minutes I received a survey, so I rated it honestly and sent it back. I explained how I felt/my concerns, which I should be able to do. The first reply within minutes (which I didn't expect any) was to apologize and to say that they would refund my money. I thought it would end there. The next message (within 8 mins and for the next hour) was blaming me that I said the pressure was ok. That its not possible for me to feel bad because of something he did. That I was sweating because the room was hot (75 degrees), not because of anything else. And that I was walking towards the door too fast to be ready to faint. And that he will write a blog about me. And that I should have been upfront that I walked in already hating them, so I just should have been upfront. While writing this they just sent me another message stating I am disrespecting them and giving them attitude at the beginning. I have to say, I don't know what type of business send harassing emails to their patrons? I have asked them via email to stop emailing me tonight and I have over 6 messages of hate from them. We are addicted. My husband and I both get massage treatment a couple times a month. We really do enjoy this clinic. It's not the spa experience of some places but the rooms are comfortable, dimly lit and nice music. The owner, Adrain, is very nice.
