But Kevin makes it special. He offers massage therapy, accupuncture, glass cupping and more. But I usually just go for massage because he truly knows how to work those super tight, stubborn knots in my neck, shoulders and glutes. It's good pain and a wonderful release. Super therapeutic. The first time I had an amazing Physiotherapist who used a combination of stretching and strengthening exercises as well as acupuncture. The problem was solved. The second time the person I dealt with was useless only giving me one stretching exercise to repeat over and over. I was told I needed to keep coming back indefinitely even though the problem wasn't improving. I could have done the exercise at home daily for free with the same result. I should have been told that the problem would resolve itself over time but they wanted my money from repeat visits. The third time the physiotherapist was experienced and helpful but lacking in kindness and interpersonal skills. She was blunt and insulting, referring to people over 40 as old and lazy even though I'm active and walk at least 30 minutes a day. My issue required more than 2 weeks to fix. She had given her 2 weeks notice before I started. So they knew that I'd have to start over with someone else when I made my first appointment. I didn't find this out until her last day at work. Her replacement was fresh out of school with no experience and not helpful at all. The location is on level 3 of the Promenade Shopping Centre. There's an elevator near the entrance by Customer Service. There's adequate parking.

I haven't been satisfied with my experience at this clinic. First of all, I do have to say the staff are very kind and friendly. During my first assessment I felt like they were really catering to my needs. On the follow up appointments a technician performed my physio instead of the physiotherapist. This is where I was not satisfied. They never really reassessed my back pain after the initial consultation and my back still hurts. I have spent over $900 at this clinic and I haven't really seen results. They would use the ultrasound machine to reduce inflammation and the electric current machine in each session. Aside from that, I thought they would give me exercises. After requesting some exercises, I was given ones I could do at home. I am doing these exercises and am seeing minimal results. At my gym my instructors and various personal trainers told me there are ways to make the exercises that they assigned me more difficult. When I asked to make them more challenging, they didn't really provide me with options. I don't know what to do to make my back better. I might consult another physiotherapy clinic. The acupuncture did nothing for me and the massage therapy did not help my back at all. I never felt better after my massages. Since attending this clinic I have seen a new chiropractor and another physiotherapist who is 10 times better than this place. I would never go back here even if they paid me. YSP came highly recommended to me, after all, they were voted best clinic for 2013 and after my first visit I can see why. Upon my entry I immediately noticed how clean and organized the clinic was. It was welcoming and all the equipment looked well kept and of good quality. I met the clinic manager David Mowat who gave me a brief tour and made it a point to introduce me to all staff who were present. Everyone I met was courteous and cheerful. I started with a 30 minute massage with RMT Florentin Racovitan. He is highly professional, patient and knowledgeable and took the time to assess where I was experiencing any discomfort. He also made some recommendations for footwear to reduce/eliminate my lower back and feet pain. Florentin practiced as a family physician prior to becoming a RMT and has advanced training and qualifications in several other areas of medicine, his experience goes way beyond that of an average RMT and that makes him invaluable. I genuinely anticipate our next session as after only 30 minutes earlier today I feel much better and make it a point to improve my posture. Following my massage I met with Kinesiologist/Exercise Physiologist Marina Kaplan for a one hour active rehabilitation session. Similar to Florentin, Marina has a flurry of relevant qualifications, is passionate and knowledgeable in her field. Truth be told she Worked me and as I write this review I'm almost beginning to sweat - in a good way! I honestly can not wait for my next appt which I scheduled for this week. The sessions are customized to each individual but I do admire how they are core specific, and my cool down period involved electronic muscle stimulation, hot packs and a roll out. As I mentioned above I already booked my next session and committed to 7 more before I take my holidays (aka binge eating sabbatical). For any individuals seeking rehabilitation, whether that be chiro, physio, an understanding of your body, overall sense of well being, exercise/fitness or all of the above, this is no doubt the place for you.
