When a project goes well, everyone is happy. It is when a project has a hiccup the true nature of a company comes out. BOE did an install for me that worked, but not quite up to what was expected. The system installed worked great, except on rare occasions. Fortunately, the system issue did not limit the use of the boat. The system simply was not working to expectations. BOE stood by their instal, attempting to figure out what caused the intermit error. BOE reviewed their instal, ran multiple scenarios to replicate the error, and engaged the manufacturer. Many companies would have argued the system was working and the interment error was caused by something outside their scope, and did not limit the use of the electronics. BOE did not take that approach. They replaced a key component, which was not cheap, at their expense to ensure the system met expectations. I opened the conversation with BOE sales by telling them I wanted to be able to create a route on the new MFD and have the autopilot follow that route. I was assured the quoted solution would do that. I asked the same question when the tech came aboard to do the install and was told it would do that. When that function did not work, I called about the problem and they sent the tech back to assess. It was subsequently suggested that the new system was not compatible with the old autopilot and they steered me toward purchasing a new auto pilot. I was cheated and never even offered an apology. The good: BOE did a good job of installing $14,000 worth of new electronics on my boat. The tech, Neil, that did the work was great to deal with and does good work. The concerns: After providing me with quotes for my project, I confirmed the job, and then they increased their labor rates by $30 per hour, which added hundreds of $'s of labor to the final invoice. I was surprised that they did not honor the quotes they originally sent me. (Also be aware, all equipment is charged at MSRP.) It took almost two months to schedule and complete the work, including delays in starting the work. When I inquired about the schedule, the owner of the company, Emily, was put on the phone and was extremely rude to me. With that said, Alex did his best to provide good customer service but clearly had his hands tied. The miss: I asked for a quote to fix my trolling motor mount. Instead of fixing the mount, they added a quick release to the broken mount. When I pointed out the miss, they said that they don't fix trolling motors. At least I will have a quick release when I do finally get it fixed! read more

See my husband was out of town, toilet broke so I called Harry with BOE Marine & RV on his way home he stopped by my house, took pictures of my RV toilet. Called me the next day, to see which one I would like to order. He ordered it for me, took my credit card over the phone. The next day Harry brought the toilet to me. Now that is going out of your way to help a women. I tried to give him a tip (cash) but he would not take it. SO....called and actually spoke to the guy about ordering a product as I was concerned about the "IN STOCK" status as its a new product. "I will have some more in the morning as I sold out today". He just place an order and it will go out the next day or the following day. I told him have been down this road before did not want to do this on items NOT in hand, He says "I have been shipping these for over a week now (New Product) and customers have them in hand". $1200 item.....so I order only to find out not only does he not have these, he never did and the whole "I have been shipping these for a week now" was NOT true. Guy does not know what he is talking about. So now I am waiting for my Money to be credited back to my card and now that I found the product elsewhere that really does have one "In Stock" that i could get I can't order it as I am waiting for my Money....5 to 7 days. These people cannot be trusted, be ware:: They gave me a written labor estimate three months ago to install over $10,000 worth or electronics on my boat located in a marina down the road from them for $2327.50. Today I asked for a date to install and they send me the same exact quote of work but now for $3,394.00 - that right $1066.50 more then they quoted three months ago. I have purchased a radar unit and 1KW transducer in the past and they issued points to future saving. Be aware these point expire in one year and then are useless. I tried to order a compact life raft today and they informed me after the order was placed that it cost a additional $70 to ship after it shows 0 in checkout. I use to think BOE was a quality organization but I am very disappointed and will take my business to elsewhere, I caution others to make sure you understand the full deal at BOE. I do not suggest using this company! I ordered a trolling motor and it has been three months and they say it will be another month. come on it doesn't take that long to get a trolling motor in. On top of that on two other separate orders made 3 months ago I haven't received 8' of 8 Ga black wire again what iis hard about getting black wire in? BEWARE!!! SCAM!!!!!!! I placed an order for a Garmin GPSMap 86s on 04/24/21 in the amount of $347.51. I have to say they were REALLY FAST to take the money out of my bank account (within seconds after submitting the order). According to their website, the item was available in stock and they were advertising "Same day shipping". 4 days later and here I am, never received an email or anything about my order. I went to the website and noticed my order was still processing... Even after 4 DAYS!!! So I decided to call to get an update on my order... Spoke to Kathryn who could not help too much but to tell me that my order was cancelled due to safety reasons (The billing address was different from the shipping address), not only that but started to ask me invasive questions such as: what boat are you gonna use it? Who am I giving it to? I was cool with it until I proposed to reorder the item using the SAME address for billing and shipping... I was told NO! "We are not going to ship you order even if you reorder it with the addresses matching!" Good news is that I was able to order the SAME exact product from "thegpsstore.com" and the order has been shipped already, within an hour after I've placed! Isn't it AMAZING? So here is my advice: DO NOT BUY FROM BOEMARINE! You will find yourself in the dark! They are VERY FAST to take the money out of your account, but they can care less after that! Like others have said don't beg these guys to take your money, I learned my lesson. The sales team is excellent as they are knowledgeable and the the prices on electronics are among the best. The service department on the other hand was very disappointing, took way more money than expected, way longer than expected. I waited for a week and then went in and checked on it It showed the item available for pick up ,but I had paid to have it shipped, I called and was told it was on back order ?? This firm prices aggressively but their service is, sadly, lacking. Just over a year ago i Made a large electronics purchase including new radar , gps, and more. Presale advise was weak. Install just passable and it required two revisits to get things right. Now I'm in the market for more new equipment for the boat. Based on the last time, I did my homework before going to them. Again , I found the prices quite attractive but after 3 store visits I've decided to pay a bit more and buy elsewhere. Its very difficult to get waited on. The help is NOT kjnowledgeable or espcially helpful. Getting answers was like "pulling teeth". One "salesman" on one visit "waited on me" while doing something else on his computer the entire time. Unless you know exactly what you want/need and plan to install it yourself, you'd be better off going elsewhere. read more

They graciously put up with my numerous questions and configuration discussions. So I got lucky. BOE was fantastic to work with (particularly Brian). I recently decided to an upgrade on my boat including complete NMEA2000. Included in this upgrade was a Maretron TLM150 Fuel Tank Level Monitor. Once the TLM was installed, I had issues configuring it to my fuel tank. I called BOE Marine for assistance and spoke with Jim Maier. Ended up that I needed an additional piece of equipment (DSM250) to complete the configure. This additional piece would cost right around $800, the TLM only cost $195. Jim offered to send me a DSM250 so that I could get my tank level monitor set. He promptly got it in the mail and I had it in 2 days. The configure was simple and I was finished in about 5 minutes. Jim was extremely professional and had all the patience in the world. The misunderstanding about the TLM150 was no fault of BOE Marine. The actual producer of the equipment could have done a better job in the product description in my opinion. I just want to thank Jim and BOE Marine for taking the time to work with me and help me to finish my project, it is greatly appreciated. read more
