    Skinless All Beef
    Jason P.

Prior to this weekend, Bogner was a place I should have visited a long time ago. Like over 15 years ago. That's how long I've heard people praise Bogner as a great place to buy meat. I don't live especially close to Bogner, but a trip home along 84 West (it's about 1.5 miles off Exit 67) provided a good reason to visit. Bogner's Vernon facility is no frills, all functional. The outside and inside are both fine, but I'm sure nobody has called the atmosphere a selling point. I'm sure that's to keep the overhead low so they can pass on the savings to customers. They have a long butcher case, which seemed to focus on beef. Steaks. Ground beef. Etc. They had an adjacent deli case, but I didn't go that far down. Bogners has separate refrigerators for things like chicken and cheese. I didn't know exactly what to expect in terms of available products. I was happy to see they had most of what you would need to make standard burgers or dogs. Buns. Condiments. Cheese. Seasoning. Etc. You should not expect to find everything a large grocery store would have. Service was friendly throughout my visit. I'm not the best judge of good deals, but I had the impression that Bogner had a good mix of value and quality. I know at least two Hartford area restaurants that use Bogner meat for burgers and dogs. I bought the Skinless Beef Hot Dogs and buns, and they were good. I also grilled Bogner filet mignon, and they were better than I've had from restaurants in the last year. I haven't turned the Ground Chuck into burgers yet, but it looked great. I also got a good deal on chicken wings I haven't air-fried yet. All the praise for Bogner seems warranted. I have closer options for good meats, but I would regularly visit Bogner if I lived nearby. 5 Stars

Nothing like showing your employees some appreciate- burgers and Bogner hot dogs for a little cookout :-)

For me Bogner's is all about "The Dog that Snaps" I've been eating these Beef and Pork Frankfurters for over a decade and I promise these guys are the real deal and they've been doing it right since 1942. I've never been in their shop so I can't speak to the staff, but I do know their products, they've been delivering the same quality long before I first tasted these dogs, believe me the snap of the natural casing may draw you in but the deliciousness will keep you coming back. Technically, hot dog is the name of the sandwich and frankfurter is the meat in the sandwich. So now that we got that straight we can move on, I've always said that I prefer all-beef franks, well I do love them but these beef / pork frankfurters checks all the boxes and compete high on my list of favorites. Whether it's a backyard cookout or few of the dogs skewered over a campfire these won't leave you disappointed - I'm still working on how to get these consistently to Florida, I'm sure I'll figure it out at some point, like anything this good it's worth the effort...

We love the quality at Bogners! The staff is always super friendly and the establishment is very clean. Their burgers are excellent as is their bacon and their steaks. They also carry a variety of frozen items as well as dairy and eggs.

Best wieners on the planet, I'm here to check it out? Smoked pork chops are on the list too.

Bogners has been a name in this area for many many years, their Manchester store is the original followed by their Vernon location. The two stores are small in area as they both are dedicated butcher shops/meat markets; they do provide eggs, cheese and others items, however; their main staple is meat. Recently, I purchased some smoked pork chops in Germany known as "Kassler Rippchen." I must say, we were absolutely delighted, they were tender, juicy and full of lightly smoked flavorful porky goodness. This will definitely be one of our future go-to dinner item main stays, they are simply delicious. We also picked up a package of their natural casing all beef hot dogs which are very good as well but the real standout was those chops. If you've never tried smoked porkchops, you owe it to yourself to give them a whirl, I believe you will he pleasantly surprised at just how good they are. Remember they have been smoked and could be sliced and eaten at room temp if you desire. The best way to serve them is bring them to temp slowly; then quickly sear both sides in very hot pan; serve with German warm potato salad, sauerkrant and bingo a match made in heaven. Seriously folks, don't miss these chops..!!!

Fresh makes a difference. I only buy my meats here avoiding the grocery store. Yes, it's an extra trip but so worth it. Also I'd be remiss not to mention the deli with good prices and products (cooper cheese). Staff behind the meat counter friendly and helpful, not so much with cashiers.

Quality is still good, price and portion are askew…read more We came here as a quick sandwich bite on our way around the state. Service was good, and the ambiance is still lively. The still tastes good, with some exceptions. The frier oil seemed burnt, so the pickle chips we had just had that little bit of carbon taste on them. The pickle chips batter was very thick, and the mayo was the only respite. The sandwich, still tasty, seemed much smaller than normal, the meat still had good flavor, but the portion was lighter in comparison. The prices are also a bit high. The sandwich coming out to about 15 bucks. The bargain is very much gone now, and the portion is okay for a sandwich but pricy because of this shrinkage. Not shown are the overcooked onion rings. We returned those and the server promptly removed them from the bill. So really good customer service. I opted for a brownie for dessert, and the brownie was a disappointment. Too sugary, no flavor, gummy, and disappointingly small and thin. A detractor for sure. As a deli, it feels like it's on the decline. I know things are pricier now, but what you pay vs what you get doesn't match up. I'm hoping they pivot from this path, but right now it's no longer my go-to. It's still tasty, just pricy
