Conveniently located between Route 9 and the Berlin Turnpike, they've been serving up hot dogs, sausages, deli meats and cheeses, a big selection of house-smoked meats, prepared foods, steaks, ground beef, seafood, chicken and sandwiches since 1964. They sell bundled packages of burgers, steaks, and chicken to feed an army at your next barbecue. And if you happen to be in the market for frozen cubes of goat, well, they have that too. In all seriousness, their product selection is quite impressive. We stopped by yesterday and picked up two sandwiches, a container of chili and a half sour pickle for $26. My turkey and pepper jack cheese sandwich was excellent. First of all, the amount of fresh and delicious turkey was very impressive, I mean it was really piled sky high on a soft and fresh bulkie roll. My wife's ham and cheese was an equally generous sandwich. Half a sandwich was all we needed for lunch. Oh, and that pickle was pretty darned good too. I haven't tried the chili yet, but based on the overall excellence of our experience, I'm sure it will be fantastic.

Their kielbasa is my go to choice for similar reasons. Although, I can buy Rosol's at most, if not all of the area places where I buy groceries, I've been curious about the retail shop for a while. The Rosol's New Britain facility is multi-purpose. It's where they execute at least certain aspects of production. It appears to be the distribution hub. And it has a retail store. The retail store is behind a a Vault Door. The store is essentially inside a cooler. So why would you visit the NB Retail Shop rather than just buy MR's products in stores? The MR product choices are wider and easier to find since they're all in one room. They have curated some products like pickles, mustard and kraut they think go with their meats. If you're a Blackie's Hot Pepper Relish fan, for instance, they sell jars of it. They sell a very well seasoned chili in cartons that goes well with their dogs. The fact that you're buying everything at the source in a cold environment, makes me think you're getting max fresh food. The dogs I grilled last night were great. Smaller place, cool little German meat market. I was greeted by a very nice young lady who wanted to help me out immediately as I walked in the door. I make the majority of my own Wurst so I'm rather familiar with all their sausages. Still they had many I never heard of or eaten. One of my favorite items was Leberkäse a German sausage loaf in the shape of our meatloaf. Absolutely fantastic! I also picked up course and fine Liverwurst, Weißwurst, Knockwurst, German Bologna and a Keilbasa luncheon meat.......all delicious!
