Today I called the Stop & Shop in Rockville or the Rockville location and asked a simple question and got hung up on. It just didn't work out apparently. But I didn't give up on Stop & Shop! No I didn't. So I called their Pitkin Road supermarket and I got all of the information that I needed very quickly very professionally and was very satisfied. I send my husband to do the dirty work ( I know, I know.. but he doesn't mind) I like to have exact money to pay coz I don't want him giving me change that's contaminated with raw meat/germs. Usually crowded on Sunday mornings, might have to wait 10-15 min for the butcher to process your order. He definitely will cut the meat to your preference and bag it accordingly too ( 1/2 for now and 1/2 to freeze for later). They have pulses, spices and a few other Asian (Indian) groceries too.

Finally, their new A.I. self checkout system is a huge pain. at my most recent visit, the employee watching the self checkouts, had to intervene 3 separate times, including an override at the end where the system thought I was stealing items that I had clearly scanned. I cooked one of the Filet Mignons and was quite disappointed for the price. There was quite a bit of fat in it and the taste was mediocre. I followed the cooking directions exactly they way they stated to, hoping for the best. Because of the price, I deducted one star, then I deducted another star for the amount of fat, as I was only able to chew about 5 ounces of an 8 ounce steak, due to the fat and and finally I deducted one star for the flavor, as I have had much better tasting Filet Mignons.
