Being a recent transplant from lots Angeles, I have had my fair share of Thai food. I can honestly say that this is one of the best Thai restaurants I've been to. The decor is very cool, hip and funky. The staff is also very friendly and are happy to translate everything into English for us. As far as the food: the tom ka soup is a MUST. It's so good and has so much flavor. Love all the mushrooms and meat in it. The pad Thai is incredible. From the sour yet nutty taste, to the fresh hot noodles. It's a must get! We have tried other things on the menu and quickly realized that anything and everything you order here is going to be excellent.

Love this place, cool vibe, nice staff and great food. Have visited three times now when I get a craving for thai, stir fry's are awesome, fried rice is good, curries are a little sweet but still tasty and you have to order starters too ! Great portion sizes, reasonable prices, will probably revisit again next week ! Ordered, (this time): Prawn satay Veggie and tofu stir fry Veggie and tofu fried rice 4 x beers = approx. €42

It is indeed not bad Thai food. We had green curry vegetables and pad Thai . But it was a bit too oily and not spicy enough. The decorations were original and lovely. But there are only tall bar chairs, not so comfy to eat in. The service is really nice, but I still prefer the food in bird better.

A decent restaurant with pleasant atmosphere and affordable price. The food is nice and the waiters are friendly and ready to help. I will definitely visit it again!

He was very warm and inviting and also acted as our waiter the whole night, so I had no idea he was also the owner. Other than the great service, the decor was warm and relaxing, and I had a great meal even though I was dining with two people I had never met before. I credit the decor and the atmosphere for putting us all at ease and making that possible. And the food was great too! I had the Tom Yum Soup and it was nice and creamy and full of flavor, and I tried someone else's beef dish which was great, and the chicken dish was ok. I was dining with a woman from China and she gushed about the rice. As soon as it was put on the table she said she could smell how wonderful it was, and explained that she's been travelling for the last six months outside of China, and this is the first time she's had "proper" rice since she left home. The fried banana/ice cream dessert was heavenly as well. Squishy warm banana with cold delicious ice cream makes people happy.

Often times there is a line leading outside to get a table due to the popularity of Bird Thais. The service is friendly and prompt. I've tried a variety of dishes on the menu but of course the classic Pad Thai is one of my top choices. Food is fresh and tasty. This time I tried the Isaan Menu which was a nice collection of spare rib appetizer, Tom Yam Kai soup, and a spicy beef salad. I really enjoyed the flavors of this dish. It is a very busy restaurant but there's just enough space to enjoy your meal without feeling like you are on top of the next table. Bird Thais is a very popular restaurant for a good reason.

The entry way may look narrow but it's a surprise they have considerably large dining area, for both small and big groups. Nice decor and seating arrangement by the way! Unfortunately, I personally didn't like most of the food we ordered. Not sure, but I've tried similar cuisine places where the food tasted better (even popular ones like pad thai and sticky rice). May still be good for you to try, there's a view of the canal on the back part and windows are cracked open. That's the bonus to see during day time.

We were walking towards another restaurant during a rainy afternoon and suddenly we passed by this hidden gem that looked super cozy and also the food looked perfect for the occasion, by that I mean steaming hot. We didn't think twice and quickly asked if there was room for two, which we ran with lucky bc the place is very small but two people were just paying to leave. We were promptly sat and attended. The food came out fast, steaming hot, generous portions. The chicken curry had an addictive ingredient bc it didn't matter that it was spicy I couldn't stop eating it! The vegetables were perfectly tender and tasty. The meat was juicy and cut into perfect bite chunks. Im not exaggerating when I say I had the most delicious chicken curry I've ever had in my life. My husband had the beef with garlic and white pepper which is onions. Also incredibly good. Both dishes came with a side of rice. At the end we were stuffed and super happy! We came back twice before leaving Amsterdam!

I ordered the Chicken Spring Rolls, Drunken Noodles with Beef, and Tom Yam Kung Soup with a side of white rice and a beer (Singha). The Chicken Spring Rolls were crispy, delicious, and packed with flavor. I recommend ordering the spring rolls while you wait for the main meal. Make sure you use the sweet and sour dipping sauce that comes with the spring rolls. The Tom Yam Kung Soup is so good! With a coconut milk broth with a hint of lime, and shrimp, I highly recommend ordering the Tom Yam Kung Soup with a side of white rice (optional) to soak up the delicious broth, which will leave you warm and satisfied. If you are trying to decide on a noodle dish to order, I recommend going with the Drunken Noodles with Beef (or Chicken). You may also want to request a mild spice level depending on your spice tolerance because the default spicy level is medium spice. It was a great balance of meat, veggies, and noodles.
