Not a great experience. I'd done a fair amount of research and Dr. Brooks had decent reviews so I booked an appointment but I found her bedside manner to be pretty bad. It was my first appointment and I was there for a full body check up to check some moles and a few problem areas on my arms and face. She would just pull off the gown I was wearing, no "I'm going to check this area". It honestly felt pretty jarring given it was my first appointment. So not only did I leave feeling slightly violated, I also felt like she was dismissive of my concerns, and she had the wrong chart for me so she kept asking about problems that I didn't have. I don't normally leave reviews but this one stayed with me for a couple days that I felt I should share my experience. read more

I really should have done my due diligence, because then I would have not set foot in this office. I didn't see Naomi, I ended up seeing her PA and was not impressed. She seemed anxious to get me out as soon as possible. She didn't seem to want to know much more about my situation, I was probably there for 15 minutes. I didn't end up following through the plan with Boise Dermatology based off this visit. Not impressed with the staff, I called very upset about the billing and there was no empathy, the woman gave me attitude. Maybe she didn't mean to, but it came across this way. Waste of time and money. I got zero answers for my concerns, just some prescriptions for what it might be and said to come back in 3 months. Had concerns about Vitiligo and she couldn't tell me for sure, asked about the light that can be used and she replied "hers was out of commission and would make sure it was up and running when I came back in 3 months!" So now I have to spend more money to go to see if I can get answers elsewhere! Also they over charged me on my copay. Also wasn't a fan of when filling out paperwork I was asked what pronouns I prefer, what sex I identify as. Let's get real here people there is only 2 options! read more

Dr. Brooks is extremely thorough, listens to concerns, does a full exam and take the time to answer questions and provide options for treatment. I went to Boise dermatology for botox. My usual dermatologist (who doesn't offer botox) recommended Dr. Naomi Brooks. It was my first time and I was nervous. Dr. Brooks spent a lot of time with me explaining the procedure, how to works, what it costs, and what she would recommend. The cost structure is upfront and very reasonable . She performed the procedure herself (not the nurse or PA). The results are amazing! I would highly recommend Dr. Brooks and will be going back. Thank you Dr. Brooks! read more

Please be careful about using this dermatologist office, due to their billing issues. I am under dual coverage by mother's insurance and my own. They charged my mother's insurance stating she was the one who came in when I wrote and stated multiple times that is my secondary insurance. It has been over 6 months and they have been so difficult with responding. I highly advise you to find a different office! Tina hasn't been helpful. I told her I was very frustrated with this and she stated that was a "nasty message" which I don't understand why and was trying to resolve and wonder what I have said that was so nasty, then she hung up on me. I called again trying to resolve how I may have hurt her feelings and how I can improve in the future, however it was going nowhere, because she couldn't give me a valid reason. She lied and stated I yelled at her which I was just trying to get a word in and she wouldn't let me talk when she was yelling at me. At that point I decided to end the call and just hung up. I hope Tina and billing really improve their professionalism with their customers, as Dr. Brooks was pleasant and professional. read more

I am so very thankful for Dr. Brooks. She helped get my skin back on track from (I am not exaggerating) a breakout that came straight from the pit of hell. After spending three months trying everything I could think of--cutting out gluten, dairy, adding in supplements, changing my pillow case every day, switching up my skin regimen, etc, I was fed up and went to the dermatologist. I was able to get on her schedule within a day of calling. I showed up, filled out a little paper work, and then spent about 20 minutes with Dr. Brooks and left with a game plan. I've been following her treatment for the past two-ish months and I'm starting to see great results. She assured me I wouldn't see results in a month, and to be patient and give my body time to adapt to the treatment. My skin if finally clearing up! **So many happy tears.** We just had a follow up appointment and she seemed unsurprised that my skin was responding well to the treatment she prescribed. We've now decided to start tackling the beast of erasing the scars this breakout left behind. When taking a look at them, she seemed unfazed and with confidence let me know those will go away, and quickly. PRAISE. Thank you Dr. Brooks for helping me get my skin back. Had the crap scared out of me by a med spa regarding "suspicious" mole/sun spot. Thy for me in the same day!!! Very kind and thoughtful bedside manner. Gave me a thorough once over to see if I had more and scheduled me for a snip for the spot near my eye. I returned and it was a simple procedure. For over 8 years I've had issues with eczema on my legs. It was so bad at times that it was embarrassing to wear shorts in the summer. I went to Boise Dermatology at the beginning of December because I had been experiencing some heavy hair shedding and over all loss. The staff was nice and I got in on time to my appointment. Dr. Brooks was friendly but only spent about 15 mins with me talking about my hair. She only looked at my scalp and didn't do a pull test to see how much hair was falling out or anything, all of this I paid 120 dollars for. She told me what I could have and what could be causing it, said I could do steroid shots which would cost 85 dollars. I have no insurance and have to pay out of pocket for everything so I couldn't do that. They told me that to really know I needed a blood test but they understood that my finances were tight. A week or so later I got the blood work done because my hair loss had gotten a lot worse. Well my results came back with my iron being pretty high. They assistant told me it was fine and that I could keep taking my multivitamin with iron in it, and that at that time there was nothing they could do except the steroid. A week later I ended up going to urgent care because I was not feeling good, I told them all that had been going on and gave them my other lab results, the doctor ended up looking into them and told me that I am at risk of iron overload and it needed dealt with. So now I am being referred to a hematologist. So while the staff and the doctor are friendly. I am mad because they should have looked at my results and realized that things were off and no just look at the fact that the results weren't low. I have no idea how this doctor is with other things but I don't think she is the greatest with hair loss, and I don't feel like much of an exam was done for the money that I paid. Along with the fact that my other health could have been effected if I hadn't have told another doctor. read more

I was very disappointed with Dr Brooks. I was in for an overall check and wasn't even given time to change all the way. Her and her assistant came in without warning, which left me scrambling to get my gown on. I don't feel that I am overly modest but it is uncomfortable to have two strangers watch you get undressed. The entire appointment the Doctor did not smile once, or really say much to me at all. When I had a question about a lesion that I had noticed and asked her about it, she told me what she thought it was but gave no further explanation. After she checked my front side she instructed me to turn over onto my stomach (which is awkward to do while laying on an exam table) The Dr made no attempt to try to help me at all so that my rear end wasn't hanging out while I tried to turn over. Now I know that she is doing an exam and will have to check my entire body but she could at least help instead of watching the patient struggle as they flip over. Again, she just watched and didn't say a word. The only time she really spoke was to her assistant while she noted any lesions present.
