I bought a fence from Boise River Fence and love it. But I had a neighbor back into my fence and damage it, so I need 2 panels and one post replaced. They were a fancy design... Not an off the shelf design. I have called, my husband has called... We have been repeatedly blown off. I have explained we do not need the work done for months... Don't mind waiting, but need the estimate now only. Zero response. We are told an estimate is coming. None does. This is not a professionally run business. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY. As a small business owner myself, I can say that BRF does not care at all about its smaller customers anymore. On a strong referral from my next door neighbor (a retired defense lawyer and an actual Karen) I called BRF to get some metal gates done just like the ones they did for Karen a few years ago. Initial call went well and estimator Kyle arrived two days later on time. I was promised an emailed bid the following day. Over a week later I called inquiring and Cindy, one of the owners, said Kyle had been busy with other larger bids and that he'd left early for the weekend. She guaranteed she speak to him 8am Monday and I'd have my bid. I called again Wednesday speaking to both Cindy and Kyle and was again given the "we've been real busy speech" and the "must've messed up your email line" with more promises of the bid later that day. After receiving nothing again, I called Cindy two days later to voice my disappointment and was, once again, given the same excuses with the promise of Kyle getting back to me. Almost a month later and I've never heard a word. It's apparent that this company is more interested in going after the larger jobs especially if one of the owners condones Kyle's horrible representation of the company. Okay - so we used Boise River Fence in 2021 to install some vinyl fence. We decided to expand that fence to frame our yard more. Sent in an online Request for Quote - no call back / no email / silence. Called their office, selected "Residential Sales," talked to someone named Cindy and she found our files but wasn't sure if they were still "doing that." Said she'd ask and call me back. Nothing. That was a week ago. Called again, got transferred to someone who forwarded me to a gentleman who only had voice mail ... left him a voice mail ... again ... nothing. Perhaps they have out-grown their ability to keep up with demand. I'm going to seek assistance elsewhere. What a disappointment. Back in 2021 they were responsive, provided excellent service, did a great job - which is why we TRIED to use them again. What a sorry state of affairs. read more

Keith didn't answer so I left a message. Then I waited. I called back that afternoon around 3, I told the receptionist that Keith didn't call me back... so she forwarded me to his phone again. Voicemail. I never got a call back on Monday. Tuesday I called and asked for someone besides Keith, I was forwarded to a very nice gal named Cindy. She told me that the lack of response was unacceptable for their company. She told me they had eight sales representatives. I told her I wanted a bid and was not in a huge hurry, but did want someone to return my call. Even if they were calling to tell me they were busy and would get back to me, just some acknowledgment. I then suggested that I work with someone besides Keith to get a fresh start, she agreed. Then she told me that I would get a call back by end of day. I did... it was Keith. He proceeded with the bid, it was $3700 to build and install 30' of 3' tall black powder coated fence with two gates. He didn't even come to the site to look at the job. Just threw out a really high price and put at the bottom of bid a statement that said the price is subject to change. Very unprofessional in my opinion, and that is my only opinion in this review. These guys are the absolute worst. I live in a subdivision where Boise River Fence is the only company that can supply the fence I need. I have been trying to get ahold of Nick Travers for a month with zero call backs. Also I have called the office twice and talked to reception and she was going to have someone call and still I can not get a call back. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. We just had Boise River fence install or 5ft black Rod Iron fence on our new home. I worked with Randy who was able to come out to our property on the very same day that I called for a quote. Which was great as we had Just moved in and needed to get a fence up as soon as possible. He was very professional and so easy to Work with. The final quote was far more reasonable than MANY other fence companies in the valley. What sets Boise River fence apart from the rest of their competitors is that they make each panel in house, which means if you have any incline or decline in your yard, each panel is custom designed to ensure your property is properly fenced versus having gaps at the base of each panel. Considering the customization it really made me wonder how the competitors stay in business. Our fence was installed within 2 weeks and we couldn't be happier. Randy followed up with us after installation (prior to billing us) to make sure we were happy had no concerns, simply put- it's not very often that you come across Such good customer service. So we really appreciated the attention to detail and focus on customer service. We had 2 custom gates built along with 50 ft. Of chain link....we luv the fences they did but when they painted the metal post they over sprayed black paint on our house. When I mentioned it to Anthony Price he said don't you have any extra paint for your house turns out I didn't. I also told him we would like some metal fencing done in our backyard to match our existing he said we won't come out for less than $1500. When I notified him again about the overspray on my house he completely ignored me. I guess that's what happens when you pay your bill and you think they are going to do the right thing. Because of that I will never use them again and I would never recommend them again if that's the way they treat a customer who spends almost $6000 on fencing. Rick W. read more

I had researched for a fence company adding both quality and a fair price. I was having a hard time with other companies until I heard their radio ad on KTIK. I decided to contact them. Keith, one if their sales guys came right out. He was timely, socialable, knowledgeable and honest. He discussed all my options and gave me a timeline. We decided to hire them. We chose the vinyl. He gave us a timeframe and discussed each of the steps. We were counting on a week and to our pleasant surprise, it was done in 4 days, counting the time the cement for the posts had to cure. The material is quality and the workmanship outstanding. Keith wad good to communicate with us. The invoice came in right to the penny they quoted us. This company is responsible for doing the fence on Cloverdale during the road construction. They left a note on our door letting us know they were going to work on my section of fence the next day or the following day and wanted us to call them and let them know which day would work for us to keep our dogs inside while they worked. We called and let them know we could do the next day. They said they would keep in touch if anything changed. Never heard from them again. Not once. Day came and went, no work was done on the entire street. Following day, still no work. Following day, same thing again. Now my dogs have been inside all day 3 days in a row. Two and a half weeks before they finally started on it...two and a half weeks! And then they only did half of the fence and didn't finish the other half for another 2 days. There had been a temporary fence put up farther inside the yard while the permanent fence was removed for construction. Part of it is still up because there are gaps under the fence where the dogs can still get out. The part that was on the back side of my shed has been removed (without letting me know) and there is a giant hole under that side of the fence where I was just informed by a stranger that my dogs had gotten out of. My dog was found down the street just wandering around. This is the worst run company I've ever had the displeasure to have to deal with. And unfortunately I don't get the choice to FIRE them because the city is paying for the work. Now my dogs get to live in their kennels while I'm at work until who knows when they decide to do the bricks that go between the fence and sidewalk. read more

Just had Boise River Fence install a 5' black iron fence with a puppy rail. We began the project in February and just completed it in June. Not because of them, but because I had landscaping going on during that time and needed access. They were extremely flexible with my schedule and worked around the landscapers. I had several changes along the way which Keith and crew helped with. Not a single "bump" along the way! Their staff and crew were extremely courteous and conscientious about their work. There was one issue with a manufacturing defect that their foreman addressed immediately. Now that I've had them do a fence for me, I wouldn't go anywhere else. I've had Lowes do a fence in the past and these guys were so much more professional and their price was more reasonable. This company removed and replaced fence along the back of my property. They also removed new metal posts from my property that were set aside and not part of the job. I contacted the salesman in charge of the job and asked that the posts be returned, the salesman agreed and promised to return my call. No posts or calks were returned. I have to say, for probably the largest fencing company in the Treasure Valley I am not sure how this happened. I called them for an estimate two times and no one showed. WOW. Called again and the estimator was late. I only continued cause my project was complicated and few wanted to take it on. Hats of for them trying. That's where it ends. I was told it would take 4 days to complete. Important cause we had 4 dogs. After 4 days project was not completed and no communication why. When I inquired about it and the issue my dogs had no yard to contain them the project manager got smart and passive aggressive with me about it. Well 3 weeks goes by and the fence was still not DONE. One one our DOGS DIES possibly from poisoning as she left the yard cause of no fence. I will not blame Boise River Fence but they possibly contributed to killing our dog. When inquiring when they would be back to complete the project so my dogs would HAVE THEIR YARD BACK, the estimator got passive aggressive again with me. Wow, I told him about my dog and he immediately changed his tune. Dog is gone and fence is done but I would NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY. I only give one stars cause the fence does look nice but there are still areas the dogs can get out. And there is no 0 stars. Not one bit of communication from the office, little from the estimator, three damaged sprinkler pipes from the hole diggers that coated me $350 and a bent fence post on our neighbors fence from them backing into it. I had Boise River Company come out and do 2 sides of my .40 of an acre. They were very friendly, however, there were some things that I was disappointed about. I ordered 2 large gates, and two walk in gates, none of them were the size that the blueprints show. The spacing between the fences and the gates have gaps (over 2 inches), The paneling in the fence moves. There are stakes supposedly holding the gates closed; however when the wind blows they move making a gap between the doors; since they failed to secure the stakes in the ground. My fence was installed in June/July; and I have written numerous emails and called the company trying to get someone to come and fix these problems, but as soon as they got paid they stopped being nice. Very disappointed that I spent over 5,000 dollars and don't even have the right size gates, gaps in between my gate/fence, gates that are not secure and panels that my dog can move with her nose. Would not recommend them to anyone! read more

Would rate the quality as a C+. Had an issue with the project manager who measured the project incorrectly and then proceeded to deny that he did. He eventually came out and found that he had, indeed, measured it short, therefore the original cost for the installation went up. I am sure he never came to our property during construction, which took several months to complete because it was being installed during the winter. When completed he told me it looked good going only from the pictures that he had been sent by the contractors who did the installation, who were not employees of Boise River Fence by the way. Then we had numerous issues with the person staining the fence who also was a subcontractor. She did the initial work but had two college ladies do some touch-up which was incomplete. She also did not visit the project after it was supposedly complete and eventually came out and stained the missed spots. I wrote a detailed letter to the company CEO sharing my frustrations and received NO acknowledgement. I would not recommend this company and have encouraged several neighbors to go elsewhere. read more

Our experience when dealing with Boise River Fence was a positive one. At a time when every contractor is very busy in the Treasure Valley, Keith arranged to meet us at our new home within a day, and gave me the estimate that day. We also contacted another fencing contractor who also came out, but never came back with a bid. Keith was up front on the time it would take to have our fence built and then installed. He also worked with the H.O.A. Management to get our request for fencing approved, and the work was performed in one day and we are very happy with the finished product.
