I am sure they are good at what they do and will provide excellent photos but there is more to running a business then being good at it. When you write your policy or the rules you play by you must honor those guidelines. When you break them when they inconvenience you it destroys any creditability you have. They canceled due to Covid. Let me repeat YOU CANCELED of thier wedding. Now your are refusing to refund the party that paid for it even tho your policy states that anything out of the parties hands would be refunded. Are you saying covid is their fault? You dont get to set the rules and break them. A business with no morals is not a business I would ever support nor recommend to anyone no matter how good they are. read more

We had a photo session in Georgetown and Jose knew all the spots for great shots, made the whole experience super fun, and produced some really stunning photos for us! This review is long overdue. We hired Nicole and Jose for our wedding shenanigans. They were very courteous and accommodating to many requests we had. Not only does Jose have creative superpowers behind the camera, gifted with unique artistry and vision for capturing timeless moments with great lighting and perspective, he is also extremely professional and a joy to work with. And Nicole brings high vibration and energy into his work and that's what makes the best team. Jose was our photographer and Nicole was the "director". We hired them for 2 days, first day was mehendi (pre-wedding celebration) and second day was for the wedding. Nicole went above and beyond to make sure all the guest are out of the way, directed my crazy big family, also, helped us get into poses and helped make adjustments to our position to ensure good posture, angle, symmetry, etc. Both Jose and Nicole are very meticulous and thorough about their work! Jose is a very precise photographer, and he goes in knowing what he wants. My husband and I had no idea on what to expect; however, Jose gave us very clear guidance on how he wanted us positioned, showing us snapshots from his camera and checking-in that we liked what we were seeing. His candids are solid as well, every photo is beautiful, but his targets are posed photos and he is extremely specific in how to compose them. I can't thank them enough for making our special day memorable, and for giving us memorable photos of our wedding. We are so glad we chose Bokeh Lane Photography to capture our memories. Hello everyone, My husband and I were looking for a photographer in VA to do our five year anniversary shoot. We happen to come across Bokeh Lane on Groupon, to be completely honest we were a little hesitant because we have had some interesting experiences with purchases with Groupon but this one took us by surprise. I sent an email to Nicole and she was very prompt with getting back to us, after going back and forth with some dates we finally scheduled a shoot for August 6th. Nicole worked me to find a photoshoot location that would be different and unique to meet our needs. On the day of our shoot, we ran a little late and the location closed due to it being a Sunday but that didn't stop her from finding another great location. We ended up at Meridian Hill Park in DC, I have never been there before but I'm so happy we did, the park is beautiful for photos and would definitely recommended it anyone who wants a beautiful location. There we met Jose who was taking our pictures with Nicole. I'm a little shy when it comes to being in front of the camera but both of them made us feel so comfortable. They also suggested doing part of our shoot in our neighborhood which I thought was great (this way we would have memories from our temp home) and also included our dog Chase in the shoot. Now when I say they were great with our Chase, I mean they were GREAT! They captured the most amazing shots of him. Now the reason why I mentioned the date of our shoot is because our anniversary was on August 10th, as a surprise for us, they had all of our photos ready for us in 4 days, I can't begin to express how happy I am with them and the pictures. To my husband and I going through the pictures looked like they were telling a story about us, it made me cry just looking at the pictures, that's how great they were. Nicole and Jose of Bokeh Lane Photography are simply wonderful! So energetic and creative! They shot our engagement session and are slated to shoot our wedding whenever COVID allows for that. We wanted a photographer that has a great eye for candid shots and heard about these two from a friend who had their engagement and wedding shot by them. My friend's pictures were beautiful, so I reached out to Nicole and Jose. They helped us with every step of the process, even with picking out outfits before the shoot. If we did one thing right in planning out our September wedding, it was hiring Jose and Nicole as our photography team! Not only were they incredibly responsive right out of the gate, but they took special care to meet with us before hiring to make sure that everything "clicked". One of the best parts about working with Nicole and Jose was how much emphasis they put on us feeling comfortable; they expressed that they wanted it to feel more like "friends" taking your pictures than a stiff photography team you hadn't met before the day of your wedding. The week before the wedding we were able to do a walkthrough of the area to decide on where to take pictures for the first look, wedding portraits, and family pictures, which really cut down on the decision time on the day-of! On our wedding day, Jose arrived early, and we were able to take ALL of our pictures (including family portraits!) on a very tight timeline before rushing to the park about a 1/2 mile away for the ceremony. Jose was even kind enough to carry my heels in his bag so I could use my backup flip-flops while we walked to do our portraits a few blocks down. He was, as he told us he would be, basically invisible during the ceremony- not once did I hear a shutter click or honestly remember seeing him during, but the pictures speak for themselves- he really captured everything! After the wedding, Jose and Nicole were so kindly able to provide us with a few shots to use for our newspaper announcements, and the full set of pictures followed very shortly after. If you're on the fence about hiring Bokeh Lane Photography, don't hesitate! Their professionalism and quality really shine, and we are so happy we chose them. And the best part? I paid for 2 photographers for 8 hours for my son's wedding as a wedding gift. $1900. But due to COVID19, the wedding venue and vendors cancelled their wedding. The bride and groom ARE NOT THE ONES WHO CANCELLED. The bride and groom decided to keep their wedding date and chose to get married at the brides parents house. Bokeh Lane Photography did not feel comfortable photographing the wedding at the bride's parents house due to social distancing. Bokeh Lane Photography refused to give a refund or partial refund. We believe that COVID19 falls under "the act of God" part of the contract but the photographers disagree. I am so disappointed in the treatment that the bride and groom received. The bride is a wedding coordinator and has recommended this photography company to many clients and to do this to her is very disappointing. This is a trying time for alot of people.
