We've been using this business for our family photos for the past ten years. Most recently, Andrea did our newborn photo shoot. She is passionate about her art, loves babies, and works really well with the kids. Our baby boy pooped on her hand during the shoot (and grinned afterwards), but she laughed and made no fuss about it. I don't think I would've reacted as well as she did. The photos turned out great after she went through and enhanced them with various effects. I highly recommend her services to anyone who wants quality photos done. We've worked with other photographers here and there, but no one else comes close to her in skills, passion, and customer service. She does get quite busy - supply and demand. Not only was she absolutely amazing with him during the shoot, allowing us to break to feed him, change dirty diapers and put him to sleep, she also is a baby whisperer and was able to have him relaxed and calm the entire time. When our regular family photographer advised she would be unable to do our newborn shoot for our 3rd son we were devastated that we would have to take our chances with someone local. Andrea is such a talented photographer! She did a newborn photoshoot for my daughter when she was 10 days old and just did another photoshoot when she is one years old. The photos both came out perfect and we love them so much! We were able to get lots of good photos both times. She has so many cute prop at her studio, furry blankets, little wooden buckets, and lots of pretty headbands for my daughter to wear. I just let her know the colors I want and she does all the set up. She handled my daughter with so much care when I brought her in when she was 10 days. Now that my daughter is 1 year, Andrea still made my daughter smile during the photo session. My daughter warmed up to her very quickly. We had Andrea do our sons newborn pictures and they turned out perfect! Every picture was so special. Andrea really listened to what we wanted by using backdrops and props that were clean, simple and classy looking. We had certain pictures and positions in mind and she delivered on all of them. When our baby was 2 weeks old and just out of the NICU, she had us come to her studio in Petaluma and she took the most beautiful photographs. We had a baby nurse with us who has taken care of hundreds of babies over the years and even she said she has never seen a more gentle, patient loving and experienced photographer such as Andrea. It's with true sadness and disappointment that I have to write this review. As I was looking for a photographer to do a small maternity and a newborn session I was elated to find Andrea her photos where everything I ever wanted and her reviews are all 5 stars!! First I called her business directly the next day it put a quote request in through Yelp and she responded within 20 minutes (WOW, she really is that great!!) or so I thought. I messaged her back and she did reach out later that night. She offered offered me 2 maternity shoot options I told her I would love the mini session and that we really loved her newborn shoots and that we would love to do a bigger session for our newborn once she was born in March. Andrea then messaged that she would "call me tomorrow" well the next day came and went without a word. I'm a busy person too and can understand things happen. The fallowing day I called her business directly (again) and I sent a second message through Yelp???? Well that was all last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, today is the fallowing Wednesday and I haven't received a single word??? I'm not sure if my mini maternity shoot just wasn't something she wanted to really do or if she has been kidnapped??? Wow! Andrea truly knows how to get kids to "perform" for the camera. The way she does this is actually by taking the performance element out of it. She simply makes the photo shoot so much fun that she's catching genuine smiles, not "say cheese." We walked up and she pulled a matchbox car out of her pocket and showed it to my 3 year old son. They played games with the car, told secrets, and explored the park together. Rather than making him pose, she got him to think the poses were his own idea.
