All I wanted was a trim for my hair, but the lady sat me down and brushed my hair l, didn't even part it and cut it dry. She said that she was going to cut the rest after she washed me. For reference I have very frizzy hair when you brush out the curls. Well she washed my hair and then dryed it and didn't even attempt to cut my hair even. My first impression of the salon was that it was spotless and full of very interesting art. I did have to wait a few minutes for my appointment but in the end I know this is because Nee is very detailed and careful about ensuring an excellent cut and after all it was Saturday. Nee gave me a really excellent consultation and we discussed my wishes at length. We agreed to a game plan prior to my cut which was a fairly big departure from my existing haircut. Nee took her time and consulted with me about length along the way. In the end I got a really look changing haircut that was styled impeccably. It enhanced my existing color, and made me feel like a million bucks. I watched all the other stylists also working on their clients, and it seems like there's a really competent group in here. Sometimes it's hard to find a salon with really skilled practitioners, but I think this one looks excellent. I'm really happy with my haircut and I will definitely be going back to see Nee!

I absolutely hate to leave this review and have been hesitant to do so. I went to Halo for 3…read moreseparate services, 2 cuts and a style. I'll start with the style. There was no style. I went in to have my hair done for a night out and after 30 minutes, I knew I wasn't getting what I asked for. It was just condescension and a random spritz of spray in the air. The curl fell out of my hair within 30 minutes and my hair can hold curl for 3 days without product, so I was shocked. I booked the service because I was exhausted and just didn't feel like doing my hair. I was late and so I just paid for my service, left and said nothing First cut I received was with Ryan. He didn't listen to what I wanted, cut me unevenly, and I had some of the worst split ends I've ever had within a month. During the cut I could tell his shears were dull, but not I didn't realize just how dull. He kept trying to flip my hair forward on the right to cover the mess up. I mentioned it and he told me I was just overthinking it and so I went on my way again thinking I'd do my normal style and see how it looked. Sadly it was the cut. I wrote an email to the owner and she graciously asked me to come in so she could fix my hair. She agreed it was cut uneven and she did the cut I originally asked for, which cut everything that Ryan had cut. There was no ends left untouched. Sadly, it was the same situation as before! I could tell within a week of the cut that the ends were going to be bad. Because of my layers, it has been an absolute nightmare to get rid of these split ends. And it is not because I use heat on my hair, the last time a dryer was used on my hair was when I was styled at Halo and I do not use any curling or flat irons. I use a satin rod for heatless curls. I went nearly 3 years without a cut or trim due to Covid and had very few split ends. My current stylist in Oregon that my sister has been with for 20 years is working on getting my hair back in shape but it's been a months long process. She's cut my hair many times over the years and she is just dumbfounded because she's never seen my hair look like this, even in my box dye and bleach days. I'm sorry I have to leave this review, but 3 separate bad experiences warrants it.
