It's done out of a townhouse in a residential neighborhood. I do not know if Sue owns both sides, I never asked. I went here about once a month, maybe a little longer in between visits as I was told just come when I can after asking frequency. I now know with my new electrolysis person that you should be coming every 2-3 weeks to get the job done and to keep up with hair growth during active cycles. When you enter there is typically classical music playing and a couch for you to sit on and wait. If she is with someone upstairs she will come get you when she's done. It did seem odd it was out of a house, but there are a lot of home businesses. It did not seem unclean to me. Upstairs you go in a room and it looks like a lawn chair covered in blankets and a towel. I felt a little odd about this, but still proceeded since I was so desperate for hair removal. On my first consult Sue did let me feel what it was like just so I got an idea. That was nice, since it was an unknown. She was always friendly and chatty with me, which was nice. My only complaint was she would drink coffee during the sessions so I had to deal with coffee breath. I now know that you should let the hair grow 4-6 days before electrolysis to actually see the root and how the probe needs to go in. With Sue I would just let it grow for a day and go and I don't know if that was the problem or not, but she never said anything about it. I felt the probe go in, but then it felt like she was plucking them out. A properly treated follicle should just have the hair slide out and no tugging from plucking. All in all I never saw results. The plus was she was friendly, the cheapest in town, open Saturday and always could squeeze you in, but I just didn't have results.

They have a lidded basket for your belongings and it's taken to your next room with you. I relaxed in one of the pedicure chairs drinking cucumber water while I waited for my facial. Rooms were changed out quickly and the aesthetician took me into her room. She did a great job, however was a little heavy handed a couple times and really spoke too quickly in the beginning, coming across as extremely rushed. As a medical aesthetician myself, it seemed a bit odd, since it didn't come across as calming, which is generally a goal. I kept my credentials to myself, because I personally like to see how services are provided and preformed when they don't know. When all was said and done, I was quite relaxed and we were both very happy with the experience overall. So much more than the local spa we went to last year... to the point that my friend didn't even remember where we went. I guess you know it's less than mediocre when you've blocked it from your memory. As I sat in the entry putting on my shoes, we wondered what they do with the slippers, hoping they're not put on the rack for someone else to wear... moments later a gal comes out with antibacterial wipes, wipes them clean and puts them away. Nice to know! We both agreed, we will definitely be back!

It sounded like they were using some expired product or something along those lines, and that this person who was to do my eyelashes was inexperienced. When I tried to tell the technician I changed my mind about the appointment, the owner came out and convinced me to go through even though I wanted to cancel. That was a big mistake. She ended up performing the eyelash lift without asking if I had any contacts in, which I did, and I ended up getting a chemical burn on my eye balls and had a severe allergic reaction to the products used. When the technician was doing the eye brow wax she also kept going over the same spots over and over again which was very painful. She almost didn't even do the lip wax that I paid for, and I had to remind her. I ended up needing to go to urgent care 2 times and luckily my vision was not affected although I had a blood vessel burst in my eye which filled my eyeball with blood and had scabby painful eyebrows for the next 2-3 weeks. Terrible terrible experience. At least the owner refunded my money, but I would recommend going somewhere else.

I had a hair emergency of Massive proportions. I let my sister dye my in a moment of insanity the resulting gray, brown, blond spotted monster was horrific to say the least. I called Fringe on a friday at 4:00pm to see if they had any openings. I had never been to Fringe before but knew it was downtown close to where I work. I spoke to the recipitionist (who was darling) and asked if they had an opening that afternoon. She said she would see what she could do to get me in and asked for a call back number. She called back at 4:30pm saying that they could fit me in if I could be there at 4:45pm. Which was perfect! Kathy had come into work just to take care of me, the customer service was amazing before I even arrived at the Salon! Upon my arrival I was greeted and immediatly introduced to kathy (who is amazing). After several minutes of dissecting the monster that was my hair Kathy asked what I wanted. I had already decided to go dark and Kathy made up the most luscious, dark, chocolatie formula for my hair. I was given my choice of beverages (coffee for me) and a Vouge to read, it was a lovely experience. Kathy not only dyed my hair, she also cut and stylied it. I left looking amazing (no more spotted monsters for me) with my next visit book six weeks out with Kathy. I have found that elusive something most girls only dream about, my dream stylist. Fringe is small enough to be intimate and the decorations bring to mind a high end, european boutique. All the ladies were fun conversationalist and location could not be better if you work downtown. I will be returning again, infact I don't plan to get my hair done anywhere else. Now price wise I think it was more then worth it, I didn't spend anymore at Fringe then I have at any other salon in town. read more

Wonderful experience...best in customer service and honesty. I am turing 30 and went to see Megan for a new me. She accomplished that, she was very honest with my style that I wanted to go with and made sure the cut fit my face. I also went with a plantinum blond from a light brown. My husband was super happy with the results and I couldn't stop smiling or feeling like the sexiest women. My confidence level was high which is great because my husband and I just had a second baby. If you are thinking about going to a place that makes you feel so welcomed and gorgeous when you walk out, this is this place. I recomend Megan but I saw the other woman work their magic while I was there for 31/2 hours and EVERYONE walked away happy. Professional makeup by the lovely Kelly!! Kelly has done my makeup for a bodybuilding show & for my bachelorette evening. She is by far one of the best I've seen. I competed in a few shows and have had my stage makeup done by several people. Kelly comes prepared she does exactly what you want and her makeup last forever!!! I have been in anchorage for a little over three years now, and had yet to find the hairstylist for me.. Until Kelsey cut my hair. She listened to what I asked for and delivered exactly what I wanted; also she mentioned what a shine conditioning could do for my hair and didn't mind that it would add an extra 20 mins to the cut. I went to get eyelash extensions done by Lorna and she was PHENOMENAL. I couldn't have asked for more from her. She was so attentive to my needs and truly cared about what she was doing. She is a true professional and it is so obvious she has had extensive training in doing eyelashes. My eyelashes look amazing and I will definitely be back.
