Found this place with Groupon and they had me since. So much fun with my stylist, Ali. They really listen to what you want and I've seen some of the cutest haircuts and styles. Best haircuts and cutest styles I've had. The stylists are so sweet, fun and professional. They do a tremendous job and they make sure you go home happy. I see the care the take with their clients and makes me happy, so many times I've seen where stylist can be rude or are not listening. I love this place. This was probably the best cut I've ever gotten. Walked in and was quickly greeted by someone saying he'd let my stylist, Amanda, know that I was there. Shortly thereafter, she came out and greeted me. Bless her heart, my hair was cemented together with the ungodly amount of gel I use. But she washed it for me. And she took her time and gave me a hell of a head massage. Not to mentioned the product she was using made my head feel all tingly and smell like a candy cane! Amanda took her time cutting my hair and engaging with me and even cleaned up my beard. The only downside was the pricing... men's haircuts are $30. But in this case, it was well worth it! read more

Wil has been styling my hair for a while now and I was super stoked when he moved to this new salon! Great location, great vibe... He is very fashion-forward and can make even the most inadequate mop of hair look FAB. It's a little on the pricey side, but, hey, after getting the crappiest of haircuts at some places in town I'm willing to shell out a few more bucks for someone who knows what they're doing. If you're looking for a top notch salon, look elsewhere. July 18th was the first time I had Lauren at Stay Sharp style my long hair that I had been growing out and pampering for two years. And I mean pampering.. I made sure I was drinking plenty of water, eating salmon, taking biotin and iron supplements, exercising, using hot oil treatments once a week, only highlighting my hair every three months, and only washing my hair once a week. Lauren did an excellent job styling my hair. As a life hack, I continued to see Lauren once a week to wash and professionally style my hair. I couldn't have been happier with the service. In September my hair was in need of a trim. I wasn't due for highlights until October 8th with my regular stylist so I called Stay Sharp and asked the receptionist if Lauren would be able to trim, micro trim (to make sure it was understood I didn't want a lot of length cut) my hair at my next appointment. Stupid me for thinking Lauren was competent enough to trim my hair. I took off my prescription sunglasses and relaxed while Lauren cut several inches off my naturally curly hair. All I can do is wear a hat. Friends tell me it will grow back. It will but in the interim I am going to look and feel homely. Lauren said it was a miscommunication! The owner offered to refund my money but I was so angry I called an attorney. Given the rate at which normal hair grows, it's going to take almost two years for my hair to grow back. Every time I see a photo of myself with long hair, I get upset. Thank you very little, Lauren! I posted another picture of my hair. Tammy is a god send. I just moved here from NY and I am really picky about my hair. She turned my collage of pictures into something that actually made sense. THIS IS KEY TO A GOOD STYLIST. someone who will just look at what you want and not try to figure out how to make it work with you hair with minimal damage is not worth the money. She did a beautiful ombré and trim and walked me through the process to make sure I understood what was going on. She made my hair look so Hollywood. I am so thankful I found an amazing stylist here in anchorage. The salon is clean and the other stylists are very professional. I didn't hear any gossip or rude remarks that are common theme in most salons. I watched two other stylists there (a handsome young man with tattoos and a cute tan girl with short black hair) work their magic on other customers. One girl got a style for a wedding that was super sexy and edgy yet still classy (bravo man with tattoos, that's hard to pull off) and the other stylist did a beautiful cut for a woman that made her hair look healthy and vibrant. Great spot to get a haircut for guys too. $25 is standard for a great cut, but it always ends up costing a bit more because the people working there are so great you want to tip them well. I don't consider myself a fancy guy, but it's clear they do a good job, not to mention the best shampoo/scalp massage I've had in a long time. I bought a groupon to this salon for the works. Like another reviewer said, they did not treat you differently because you were using a groupon. Great vibe in the salon. Bomi (sorry I hope I am spelling that right) did my hair, and I LOVE it. I have very curly hair, and not only did she cut it to make it feel healthier, but it looks great styled curly and straight. The highlights are just the color I like too and they look awesome. Good idea to do the groupon - I will be coming back as often as I need my hair done! I have long, sleek, black Asian hair and Will Dunn is the only stylist that has been able to tame my mane. He is passionate about his craft, I can rely on his expertise delivering beautiful cuts, colors, and hair designs that garner compliments from strangers! Asian hair is tough to highlight so other stylists would leave me red-orange & brassy; Will is able to get me the gold, beigey, caramely tones/highlights. I need easy, low-maintenance hair so he cuts full-volume layers that transform as it grows & colors my hair in ways that growth isn't too noticeable. Happy to have Will as my hairstylist. read more

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. They are fantastic. It can be a little pricey, yes, but totally worth the money. It's better to pay a little extra at a place when trained professionals are familiar with the art of doing hair than to go down to cost cutters and get a nasty hack job just to save a few bucks. I'm not saying cost cutters is bad but they did mess my hair up one time many years ago. I think she was on drugs.
