This is our favorite nursery in town! We've used them over the past 10 years for everything from houseplants, and trees and bushes for the yard to truckloads of dirt and we always have a great experience! The workers there are friendly and helpful but Susie is who I look for when I go! I always take her advice and she's never steered me wrong! She truly cares about her plants, a few years ago she sent a giant fiddle leaf fig that I purchased from them in a box truck to my house free of charge because it would have been damaged in my truck and she didn't have to do that! She will also look at photos of trees they've planted for you and tell you how to help them if they're struggling but that's never happened to us. Everything they plant for us thrives! They just left after planting five trees for me and they sent a crew of five men, all who were so nice and professional. They asked me multiple times throughout the job if I liked the placement or if I wanted anything changed and they finished super quickly and cleaned everything up when they left! They even checked our sprinklers to make sure they didn't break anything which no landscaper or worker has ever done for us. We will only use Bolles! read more

This is a great place for all your plant needs. I came for indoor plants and left with a palo verde tree! The employees were very helpful and gave us instructions on how NOT to kill the tree which was great and very much needed. I will continue to come here and shop for plants etc. read more

I love Bolles Nursery... The service is so wonderful .... today with the Assistance of Armando I bought exactly everything that I needed and he helped me not purchase things that were certain to die because of bad lighting at my house! Armando was wonderful and I so appreciate his expertise. I also love that they have Delivery and will plant things. They also bent over backwards for me to plant things right away! I needed to get the vegetables in the ground, it's a beautiful late spring day so we headed over to Bolles Nursery. The parking lot was full, seems many others had the same green thumb thought's that I did. Color is a understatement at Bolles Nursery , so many spring blooms with a sweet fragrances . I needed to remember we came for vegetables. My wife was venturing off admiring all the color. I was focusing on vegetables I had the afternoon to get them in the ground. Bolles had a fantastic selection peppers tomatoes onions zucchini and lots of spices. You have many choices of sizes, small six packs, medium size, and large more mature plants ready to produce. Their vegetables all looked healthy and strong. Bolles workers were busy, all friendly and helpful, they could answer all your planting and growing questions. We spent about 60 minutes wandering and admiring the beautiful grounds. Short wait to check out, the prices were right. Everyone was smiling and enjoying their stop at Bolles Nursery.' read more

Second attempt at adding life to my patio and the staff were incredibly helpful in guiding me what to purchase. Someone was always near by to answer a question and all answers were clear. They even offered to help take my items to my car even though I only had a few and while I didn't accept the offer it was a kind gesture that deserved a shoutout. read more

I am leaving this review because I felt that a staff member's demeanor and customer service was very rude and unfriendly. I came to the nursery on 6/24/2025 at 9:20. I wanted to return a purple rose bush purchased from a sweet worker with ear plugs 5 days prior- but after seeing it fully bloom it was not the right rose I needed. A young lady at the cashier went to get someone when I handed her the receipt. An older woman worker came and without greeting me asked me why I wanted to return. She said that the plant could have been exposed to fungus. She showed me my receipt and said "if you would have read the receipt you would know there is a 24hr return policy." She didn't say anything else and I felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable as I left. I totally understand this policy but felt that this conversation could have been more professional and respectful after I have spent so much money here. Its not about the policy--it was the lack of respect and kindness that stung the most. Sad read more

I love shopping at Bolles nursery.... in all honesty its the best place with the best employees. Most all my yard is from there. I do a garden every season and i always get the best veggies and plants for my garden. Plus if you ever notice a scooter or a fluffy gray cat ....yea thats me lol i love riding my scooter and filling up my tiny basket with plants to take home. Our Favorite Nursery! We get excited when we see our girl Alison is working. She is so friendly, always showing us new items, answers all of our questions, and if she doesn't already know the details off the top of her head, she will surly find out for us. I think her recommendations have nearly filled up my flower beds. Not sure how much more I can fit in. Large inventory, reasonably priced, and there is always new inventory. Love how they are promoting on social media these days. Best of all, after it's all selected, they bring it up to the front and help you out to the car. Appreciate that they protect our vehicle with plastic wrap and then carefully place our plants in for our drive home. read more

We have been getting our plants (flowers, bushes, trees and garden supplies) from Bolles for a number of years now. During this time we have appreciated not only the quality of the plants, but more importantly the knowledgeable and attentive staff. It is great to see Laura and Susie (and the others) and appreciate having gotten to know Daniel and seeing him spending more time there. Their knowledge is way beyond what you can find at many other places here in Bako. My hope is that Bolles Nursery will carry on as a family run nursery is for years to come. read more

Bolles nursery is great! They have a large variety of plants, whether you want a house plant, planting a garden, or doing landscaping, they have so much! Their customer service is also wonderful. Each member is willing to help with any questions asked. They're all very knowledgeable! I go often, but recently have had help from Daniel. He truly knows his stuff! He won't just tell you specific plants are "full sun, partial sun etc." he has suggested what types of areas are best to plant, and he's very knowledgable with watering needs. With this pandemic I found new ways to appreciate the beautiful things in life and this place is IT! It has the set up of a cute little home that was turned into a nursery. They have all you want, need and plants that you have to take because they are just gorgeous! They carry flowers, trees, succulent, plants fountains and so much more! The people are very helpful and knowledgeable. They will walk you to your car and load your plants too! A big plus is that they have great prices! I love walking around I feel like I'm in some foreign place waiting for a bunny to pop up. As I walk around I take my cart and load up all the flowers and plants I like, but next time I will be loading trees. Planting is a great hobby and it brings some sort of joy in your heart. So, I strongly recommend this place to go pick up some flowers or trees and feed the earth and your heart with joy. read more

A few days ago me and my nephew went to Bolles. When we went to pay, we got in line. One cashier was busy helping people. The other cashier was sitting down watching her phone. The one girl told me I could go to her as she was still trying to help the first customer to their car, but she didn't even look at the line and kept watching her phone. I didn't feel good about going over there, I didn't even know she worked there. The cashier with the big earrings was very nice. She worked hard and helped everyone, even when she had to get more help. She was doing her best. The other cashier with short reddish curly hair was not helping. But all the sudden looked up when someone else came to help then all the sudden she said "oh I didn't see you there" but it's like of course you didn't see the line that had accumulated because the phone was more important. I don't usually write reviews ever, but I saw the review prompt by the registers and just wanted to say thank you to the one with the earrings for being so kind. I'm giving 5 stars because I want the one girl to know she was awesome, the other lady would get a 0 in my opinion. I did not catch either of their names but the nice one had lots of earrings and a few tattoos on her arm if that helps read more

One of my wife's favorite places to visit in Bakersfield is Bolles Nursery Landscape. I like browsing through all the plants and trees, but coming to Bolles is dangerous for the pocketbook. They carry so many plants, flowers, and trees that tempt my wife too much. She seriously wants so much from here! I'm proud of her, though, because she has always been able to stick to our budget every visit we make to Bolles. This nursery is not the cheapest in town. In fact, they are a bit more on the pricier side. I find the service and staff to be better at Bolles than the competition, though. Also, the selection here is awesome. If you cannot find what you are looking for at Bolles, then most likely you are not going to find it anywhere else in town. I'm sure they could probably order what you want too. THEY HAVE CHONKY KITTIES THAT WILL LET YOU PET THEM. Is that the reason this place has a 5 stars? Yes. I am a simple soul. I came here just to see their selection. I've fallen into plant care as hobby. In the last six months i have become the single parent of 20 plants and I can't seem to stop. This place has a huge array of plants. If you are looking for outdoor plants, this is it. This is great for those that want a large plant for their home or office. Their succulent collection is also very impressive. I bought a small bear paw succulent, its my new child. The people that work here are also nice and knowledgeable as well. They were busy but were still able to stop and answer my questions on how to not kill my plants! Overall, good experience! Will come back to try and pet the rest of the cats. read more
