We visited Bombay Bistro and tried the Ajwain Fish Tikka, Chicken Fried Rice, and a mango mocktail. The Ajwain Fish Tikka was really good. The ajwain flavor came through nicely, and the fish was soft, fresh, and very tasty. Everything about the dish worked well, though I did feel it was a bit pricey for the quantity offered. The Chicken Fried Rice was the highlight for me. I've tried chicken fried rice at different places around Seattle, and this one is honestly the best so far. It had the right amount of spice, great flavor, and was very satisfying. The mango mocktail was just okay. It tasted a little too sweet and syrupy for my liking. I also went back another time to try the biryani, but unfortunately, it was not good. So for the main course, I'd recommend going with the Chicken Fried Rice or trying their naans instead of the biryani. Overall, a good spot with good and delicious food. read more

Came in a couple days ago for the first time. Super big inside and is nice for a work party dinner or just with friends. Wanted to try the famous street food and asked for samosa chaat and dahi puri. I think one of the servers there wasn't fully versed with the menu because he kept insisting that they didn't offer samosa chaat, even though I had previously called the restaurant before arriving to confirm that they offered it on the menu. Luckily though, we were able to clear it up with another member of their staff and were able to order the chaat. Food was good! Samosa chaat is worth the price and they give you 2 samosas and your money's worth, though I would have preferred a little more channa dal gravy, but I'd still get it again. I think some people like thick naan, but I personally the one they serve here, where it's thinner and tears easily, instead of thick and stretchy. Makes it easier to scoop curry onto. The Dahi Puri didn't wow me as much, maybe because it felt like something I could easily put together at home and didn't come with that many puris. Maybe it's for people who aren't familiar with the dish, who don't know what it is. But I didn't think it was worth almost $11, basically the same price as the chaat. Overall though, I think I'd come back here and try more of the dinner options, they looked promising. And the restaurant has a vast number of popular street food options too which I'd like to check out in the future. read more

We pretty much loved everything we tried except gulab jamun doesn't really go with the shrikhand they serve with it.Seperately both taste good but was too sweet. It's one of the new ones with QR codes and it did take couple of tries to get the QR code working for me and it usually works in the first attempt at most places! We were tight on schedule and given that there seem to be 4-5 families waiting for the order, we went ahead with take out. The service did seem bit slower than expected! Hakka Noodles - this was as good as we get back in India. This might be the dish for which I might think of going back. Everything from the noodles, chicken and veggies were perfect! The medium spice level was met! Bandra Vada Paav - this was great. Would not call it exceptionally great as I would have loved more flavor and spice in the patty and the garlic chutney. Peshwari Kadai Paneer - was oily but the sauce and the paneer were great! The Tandoori Roti and Naan were ok. We really enjoyed our experience here! The drinks, appetizers, and breads were all delicious, and the cheese garlic naan was such a hit with my kid. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The Kohlapuri chicken curry also had great flavor and depth, but it was much sweeter than expected. Authentic Kohlapuri chicken curry is usually known for its bold spicy heat, so I was hoping for a spicier version rather than a sweet one. Hmmm let's start with the nice decor, large space, friendly service and plenty of parking. The restaurant was freezing cold though, we kept our warm jackets on the entire time, that's not comfortable to eat. The tables are also very small/narrow, so 4 people ordering food with side dishes and you had to juggle what goes where, that was kind of annoying. They seem to not be deep enough and they won't give you a larger table, even though the place was half empty. The food needs some more oomph and spices, I had the korma, ok - nothing to write home about, the Tikka masala was very tomato heavy and also lacked flavor. We ordered 3* and barely got any spice at all. The garlic naan gave me bloating, which I never experienced with Indian naan (unless it was something else in the meat dish). I think they need to work out more kinks, I'll definitely give it another chance in a couple of weeks to see if there was improvement in the flavor. read more

But two things to note - - The Dum Biryani was more like mixed rice with very less pieces and dominant rose smell and not the proper south Indian style biryani - Shahi tukda is not the ghee roasted bread but it's a "baked" one and it's mentioned the same on the menu also. read more

Not spicy, just spiced to death, like they were trying to hide the fact there was supposed to be meat in there. Chili chicken? Basically sweet & sour chicken wearing a fake mustache. Zero chili, all sugar. The samosa was fine, the naan was fine; but only because they didn't come up with a new way to ruin them. We ordered Misal Pav, Paneer chilli, fries(kids), Paneer Pasanda and Garlic naan. Misal Pav tasted excellent. I wish they had the authentic square plates for serving this. The plates were too small to eat this. We ordered fries for the kids, but they showed up at the end of the meal after we finished our dinner. It would have been convinient for these to come first for our toddler. The staff realized this and did not charge us for this. Paneer pasanda was quite authentic and garlic naan met expectations. Definitely would love to come here again. The place flows with good intentions and with more practice can become top notch read more

I ordered takeout from Bombay's Bistro today. I've never eaten here before. The food was very good! I started with the Bandra Vada Pao, a very tasty little sandwich! Still a bit crispy around the potato ball when it arrived, great flavors! Next I had the butter chicken, it was very creamy. Not the best flavored butter chicken I've ever had but still very good and the chicken was SO tender. Probably the most tender chicken I've ever had in a curry dish. The garlic naan was okay. A little flat but not bad. I finished with their blueberry gulab jamun. Very tasty. My one complaint is that 2 balls is a smaller portion size than I expected for $13. read more

We got take out including: Baigan Bharta - very tasty eggplant dish Cheese garlic naan - perfect with the eggplant Achari Paneer Tikka - Paneer coated with a tasty seasoning Tandoori chicken - yum They inadvertently left out an order of butter chicken but when I called to report that, there was no fuss. I could either come get it or they would refund to my card. Gracious and apologetic. The atmosphere of the restaurant looks very inviting. Next time, I will eat in. TERRIBLE! Absolutely terrible service. My dad waited over an hour and a half for 7 items. Which was supposed to be 12. He handed over his phone with the order from their website and amounts of each which would have totaled $145. Which the price isn't worth the amount of food we would have received. I understand that it was busy but he noticed many people coming in, ordering more food than he did and leaving before him. Very discriminatory behavior and prioritizing others based on ethnicity. We've been here a couple of times as a family, and the ambiance is great. Recently, I booked a table for a friend's send-off, and they accommodated us with a wonderful seating arrangement. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious -- we especially loved their Khatta meetha Mojito, and the naans were the best: soft and light, not dense at all. Their Chicken Kolhapur and Lamb Chettinad are excellent as well. Overall, a wonderful experience and a perfect place for both family visits and group gatherings. read more

Absolutely terrible Indian food for the greater Seattle area. My party arrived at the restaurant at 7:30pm on a Friday night. It took us until 8:10 to get a table. That can be forgiven - a good restaurant is bound to have a wait time. Yet it only went downhill from there. We placed our first order with the waitress by 8:20. The food was definitely on the pricier side so we wanted to order a little first to see what the portion size was looking like. That order itself took until 9:00 to arrive. Before 9:00pm we also placed two more orders - one for us to eat because we were worried about the time and another as takeout for a family member at home. Eventually, after we finished the first round, the takeout order came. It didn't strike us that anything was wrong until time continued to pass and the second order still didn't come. We later found out that they had forgotten about it. At this point it was 9:50 and we were so tired and had lost our appetite that we just had them cancel it for us. Now onto the food. We ordered a few types of naan, two side dishes (paneer tikka and the kofta), chilli paneer, and hot and sour soup. All of the food was extremely bland and sweet. Did someone dump an extra cup of sugar in this?? The kofta itself was especially disappointing. There were only 3 balls!! The bullet naan we ordered also had no flavor or spice. The garlic naan was average. The chilli paneer was given to us severely undercooked. The hot and sour soup tasted artificial and like maggi sauce out of the bottle. Finally, when the waitress was refilling my glass of water a bit of food poured into the glass. It was nasty. I will give it a plus for the ambiance. The interior was absolutely gorgeous and the bathrooms were well maintained. The exterior does not live up to the interior though - I walked in with low expectations that should've been a warning for the rest of the night. In the end, the food was average. If I was getting it as takeout from a random restaurant on the side of a street after a long drive I would probably be happy. It was the wait times, subpar service, and prices that forced me to pay attention to these details. I will not be coming back to this restaurant and I am disappointed in my night wasted. read more
