I'm not one for Indian food at all but I will eat here again. I had Chicken tiki masala with nan bread and it was delicious.

So I have ate it twice now and its been a total hit! I have never had Indian food before so I can't tell you if it compares to what the real deal is, but I have been blown away thus far. I really enjoy it alot! I recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala or the Chicken Coconut Curry. They were both very good. I am fairly tolerant to heat and I always get it hot and it seems fine. Super excited that we've finally got an Indian food place here in Cedar. Food is pretty good but if you're a fan of this type of food don't expect a mind blowing experience. Remember that ordering the Flatbread is by the piece, so order accordingly, two pieces to every entrée. read more

We arrived at 2:40 this afternoon not knowing the restaurant closes every afternoon from 2:30 until dinner- (work/life balance?). The owner took our order anyway and stayed open until we finished. Both of us had the chicken vindaloo---a dish we have eaten many times at the sister restaurant in St. George. It was exactly as good as we had hoped. As we sat, we watched several people come back to the owner and compliment him, so I'm guessing this location is a success. I hope so, Cedar has about 2 or 3 interesting options for lunch. The only reason I would not eat at either location more often is their not accepting AmEx. Still, 'five stars' for food and service. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Normally I am not someone to complain, but I feel this needs to be said to notify others. Bombay cafe here in cedar city is charging customers 18% gratuity for using the starving student card after you leave the restaurant. I did not agree to the price. I signed my receipt to the price I thought I was paying. When the charge came through my tip had been doubled. If I would have paid cash the 18% gratuity would not have been charged. I paid more for my meal than if I didn't use the starving student card because usually only get water. Then I was charged double the tip that I originally left. When my husband called the owner, the owner was very rude. He said that it says it at the bottom of the receipt that it will be added, but no amount is seen on the receipt when I signed it. I don't agree with this practice and will not be returning to Bombay. If you go there I would pay with cash to get the price you agree to. You never know what you might be charged. My dad was over charged twice and had to dispute it and my sister had four dollars added to her bill. read more

While planning a trip to Bryce Canyon, we decided to stay in Cedar City.  Unexpectedly we encountered Bombay Café.  This is a pleasant casual restaurant in the Cedar City Utah with a delightful selection of Indian foods.  The Naan was freshly baked.  The food was carefully prepared.  The staff is very friendly.  I had a nice conversation with the owner.  He and his brother have long experience in the restaurant business in Las Vegas.  The decision to move to Cedar City was based upon request to start a business in the area. What a nice hidden gem of a restaurant! The food is excellent- I had the coconut curry chicken "mild" and it was just right right. The Cheif is a good judge of how hot you can handle without destroying the delicate blend of flavors. The prices are fair, the portions ample and it is fresh! Excellent authentic food. We were so pleased with the fresh garlic Naan that we ordered extra to go. We had the Chicken Coconut Curry, the Lamb Coconut Curry, and the Chicken Vindaloo. All were excellent. We got 2 dishes medium and 1 mild and thought the medium heat was perfect (even our kids loved it). The atmosphere is casual, and the the service is friendly and family oriented. This restaurant is a great addition to Cedar City, and we will return as often as we visit Cedar. read more

First off this food does taste good, but I have to say it was not very authentic. I have to agree with another reviewer who said the food was strange colors- I've never seen a masala dish that was almost magenta before... As for the flavors- we got chicken tikka masala and spinach paneer l- my go-to Indian dishes- and there were unlike any I've had before. It seemed like flavors somewhere between American food and Indian food. Again, it was good, the chicken masala more so than the spinach dish. Also I've never seen naan that looked like supermarket pita at an Indian restaurant. This also tasted good, just not authentic. I'm a little bewildered by the reviewers who have tried Indian "all over the world" and loved this place. Perhaps they found the least authentic in every city? I have also had a lot of good authentic Indian food with Indian friends, and this was really not up to par in that respect. Nice service. :) read more

For the sleepy city of Cedar City this restaurant provides some great diversity to the usual selection. The owner/cook is very personable and helpful. Our first time eating there he was very helpful in recommending and even selecting a meal to eat. We have tried the vindaloo, korma, tikka mas allá and the coconut curry (with chicken or lamb). All have been great dishes and the garlic naan bread is a great way to get every last bit of the tasty sauce. Do yourself and your tastebuds a favor and grab lunch or dinner here. read more

Tried the mixed vegetable plate. The sauce was good; however, the vegetables were not fresh. The potatoes, carrots, and peas all were very mushy and tasted like they were canned. I've had Indian food many times before. This doesn't even come close to what I would call good. read more

This restaurant is a great and flavorful addition to the food available in Cedar City. I had the Chicken Coconut Curry, and it was very good. We also had some of the garlic nan bread, and ended up buying extra to take home. I have eaten at many Indian restaurants in the U. S. and the U.K., and although this place is not plush, you don't have to wait long for your food and the flavor was great. We will definitely be going back. read more

Food not bad. Chicken Tikka was made in Mars. The restaurant claims to be Indian but in fact is Pakistan. You can tell by the way dishes are prepared. The Urdu written paintings on the wall (similar to Arabic) are a dead give away, you would never find this in a true India restaurant. They do not have any real Indian completion so they can pass off just about anything as Indian. The only one waiter was unsophisticated and socially inept but did his job. I am Indian, no fooling me. Incredible Indian food! I love Indian food and have indulged in a lot of this spiced fare across the US...but Bombay might be the best (close to Seattle's Kastoori Grill). The place lacks ambiance, but most authentic Indian restaurants do. Don't shy away! We are from MT and we were on a voyage to Zion...saw there was an Indian restaurant in Cedar City and stopped. We met the owner and while hemming-and-hawing about what to order, I told him I was wary of ordering his curry because I personally make good curry. He smiled and said "I make it better". We'll dang it...he was right. It was absurdly good. I mean stupid good. Hubby ordered a lamb dish that was equally taste bud blowing. We're heading to the Grand Canyon in April this year and, yes, Bombay Cafe is a must stop for us. read more

I have always loved Indian food and was excited to see there was an Indian place when I moved down here. My boyfriend and I went for date night and it was the perfect choice. It was quiet and small, and they had exactly what I wanted - Chicken Tikka masala. I ordered that and my boyfriend got the lamb vindaloo. He was happy they had lamb since he loves it. They also have a discount for SUU students, which is really nice. When we ordered our food and took a seat, the owner turned on the TV for us and it was some very entertaining bollywood music videos. When we got the food, it was PHENOMENAL. I couldn't contain my excitement. Both the dishes we ordered and the naan were excellent, and when the owner asked how we liked our food, he made us some eggplant for free. It was an overall great time. Highly recommend. read more

I don't know how this place stays in business because their dishes taste terrible... I am downright offended by what is offered here. I've tried the lamb curry and the butter chicken, and let me tell you, they had no flavor and were just downright salty. The thing that was supposed to be naan I'm pretty sure is just flat bread you can purchase from a grocery store. The portion was meager for the price. Overall it was such a disappointing experience. Cedar city residents I feel sorry for you for having nothing but below the average ethnic restaurants (Indian/Japanese/Chinese/etc I've tried it all). read more

We stopped by this place when passing through Cedar city, not expecting great indian food in the sparsely indian populated town. But the food was super tasty - vindaloo, palak spinach, coconut curry and Chana masala. While not exactly authentic (chicken vindaloo was creamy with potatoes), the flavors were all great and the food was very tasty. The service was also very nice and the owner was very welcoming. He stopped by to chat with us for a while and even gave our little son a free lassi on the house. Highly recommend this place for good Indian food. read more

My friends had been telling me how good the Bombay Cafe in Cedar was for a few weeks but I was never able to try it. I went for the first time last night and it was really good. I was a little nervous because I love Thai curry and knew it was different. I had also tried Indian curry a long time ago and was not impressed. I order Chicken Coconut Curry (8.99) with the garlic naan. My one complaint about the naan would be that you only get one piece for $1.99, but it was really good. I got my curry medium and it was the perfect amount of spice. If you have any questions, the owner will tell you what dishes taste best with the right amount of spice. One of my friends got the Vegetable Pakora. It was so good with the Tamarind sauce they served with it. Lamb Curry ($11.99), Chicken Curry (8.99), and Butter Chicken (8.99) were also ordered by people in our group. I must say I'm not a big lam fan but the Chicken Curry and Butter curry were so yummy. I will be getting the Chicken Curry next time. (which is actually what the owner suggested to begin with) Go try it. You won't regret it. read more

We were a group of 20 and ended up having a worst experience here...first of all, the naan was stale with fungus molds...when asked about it, the guy who calls himself the owner of this place, said it was over burns..I have never seen dark green oven burns on anything..then the spinach paneer...it was way off...looked horrible...din spot even a single cube of paneer...when asked about it, he said he had them crushed in the gravy...nothing authentic about it..the owner guy even abused us and asked us to leave when we asked him about the stale food...very bad attitude..never going back to this place again... read more
