My cousins were rugby players and we were all poor students so we loved it but I've got admit the food wasn't great - super heavy, sugar laden curries. A far cry from what you'll get at Satya. For starters, Satya is a South Indian restaurant so the curries are a lighter style with a thinner sauce, generally made with coconut. But on top of this their curries are made with a certain finesse - no heavy hands here - instead a delicate balance of spices, without all the sugar! Their menu is extensive and for someone like me, who is no expert, it can be intimidating. Luckily, two of our dining companions had travelled extensively throughout India and guided us through the ordering process. We ordered several dishes to share. My favourites were the Dahi Puri entrée - delicious bit sized morsels of potato & chickpea with tangy tamarind chutney and yoghurt on a crispy chickpea cracker - and the eggplant coconut with potato, green peas and ginger. We got the chicken tikka and veggie Kati rolls the first night. The flavor was spot on. The heat was just right. The veggie, especially, really packed a flavor punch. We also got a lamb roll the second time we went and that too had a great flavor. Make sure you don't miss the masala chips (fries to us Americans). They are SO good - perfectly crispy and with such awesome flavor. We found that one order was big enough for us both to share with a roll, so don't be afraid to split an order.
