Overall, the experience was.... Okay. We had the tikka masala, butter chicken, and paneer makhani. Flavors were good. Disappointed they didn't offer sweet lassi so that's mostly feedback for management. I gave a three because I felt for the portion it was slightly pricier than similar locations. I took off the second star because the service was not great. It felt like the folks kind of forgot about us. It would be stretches between they came to our table but maybe that was just us. We went for lunch on a weekday and immediately noticed that the new location is much nicer than their old one. Lunch is now ordered directly off the menu, as they no longer offer the buffet. The food at this restaurant is amazing. I always get the Chicken Tikka and Garlic Naan. My husband usually gets Chicken Afghanistan. Both are consistently excellent. I have brought countless friends and relatives here who also love it and proclaim it their favorite Indian. They moved to a new place in Alpharetta a color years ago and it is really elegant and relaxing. It is never crowded but I see they do a ton of takeout. I ordered butter chicken and lamb rogan josh and was given a choice of spice levels from 1 to 5. I chose 2.5, expecting something mild to moderately spiced. Instead, the food was extremely spicy--far beyond what I asked for, to the point that I had tears in my eyes. It was clearly closer to a level 5 or higher. If 2.5 is too spicy, they should mention it. One would expect 2.5 to have some spice, but not unbearably. I called right away on Friday night to explain, and the staff member on duty acknowledged the issue and said I could bring the food back for a replacement--without mentioning any specific time limit. Since I couldn't return that evening or Saturday, I called back on Sunday morning. That's when things took a turn. The owner answered and was incredibly rude in my opinion and dismissive. She refused to honor the original offer and told me that if I couldn't handle the spice, I shouldn't have ordered it--completely disregarding that I had explicitly asked for a moderate spice level. There was no accountability or any attempt to understand the situation. While I take some responsibility for not coming back sooner, I expected basic courtesy and professionalism. Instead, I was met with condescension and zero effort to make things right. The food itself might be decent, but with service this unprofessional, I won't be returning. Exploring the city we wanted to check out Bombay flames on a Sunday night. The service was really good and they really tried to answer all our questions and modify the dishes as we requested. They ask for spice levels and we asked for 2 for kids and 3 spice level for us. But if you are an average spice eater do understand that level 3 was pretty spicy for us. Just FYI They don't have any bone in options for chicken which I would request them to have atleast one of it. We had ordered the non veg platter which came as a sizzler as was pretty impressive. The laccha paratha was an hit with my kids and husband. Chicken Afghani and Chicken Curry were good too. We have been customers of this long established restaurant for several years. However, our most recent visits to Bombay Flames have been quite unsatisfactory. The restaurant is nicely appointed inside and generally clean looking. Our last two attempts at having a quiet meal has been stymied by other patrons who don't seem to understand how to use their indoor voices, control their children or respect the fact that they are not in their home dining but in a restaurant surrounded by others. Believe it or not, I'm not interested in hearing your conversations. We have tried takeout food on a few different occasions in order to avoid the rude customers. There is no online ordering (which is surprising considering this is 2023) so if we are going to be in this area we decide to call in an order to pick up on the way home. We have learned that the meat in most of their chicken dishes tends to be overly dry white meat so we opt for the vegetable entrées. This generally works out until you actually get home and taste the food. The kitchen has an extremely heavy hand with the cayenne pepper on practically every dish on the menu. Other yelpers have mentioned this and our most recent entrée of okra Bhindi Masala, was completely inedible due to the amount of pepper. That's $16 down the drain and is not appreciated. Particularly since we requested a "level two" spice for the dinner. I'm not sure who can eat food that is so over seasoned. I like to be able to actually taste the food in the order not just pepper. Other reviewers have said that the food was "painfully spicy." Good luck if you want to try Bombay Flames. You will find them on the right side of Mansell Rd east if you are heading west towards GA-400. The restaurant has plenty of parking and it sits at the end of a small strip center adjacent to two hotels. read more

In fact they have become our go-to when we can't decide if we want anything else. Or as my partner says "I can always eat lamb biryani!" This is the second time we've come and both times I've had some hair in my food. My friend's wife also had a lipstick stain on her water glass and needed it replaced. Service was nice, and it's always a good sign to see Indian customers in an Indian restaurant :) Buffet included everything you'd expect - chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, chicken tandoori, chicken curry, goat, spinach paneer, mixed vegetable pakoras, chickpeas, basmati, naan, and more. We went to Bombay Flames on Saturday for their Indian lunch buffet. At first I was a little skeptical because of the location, but once inside it was a nice layout and the buffet was well stocked. We were seated and ordered drinks, then proceeded to the buffet. I was quite impressed by the selections; they had everything from butter chicken, goat, tandoori chicken, palak paneer, naan bread, chicken biryani, vegetable biryani, plain rice, homemade pickles, soups, salad, mango pudding, etc. All of which was fresh and tasted great satisfying my craving for Indian food.
