Since I don't have the patience to make a lovely substitute, still not a replacement me for homemade from India.

Ive been coming here for probably over 15 years. After moving back from the LBC I could drive 20 mins and be in Little India aka Artesia is hard to find a big Indian store section with having to drive to the South Bay. This is a quaint littel store that carries a lot. The owner is very friendly and remembers his customers. I don't come as often as my guys is allergic to garlic ,(there goes the garlic ginger paste I used regularly. But they carry Koolfi Brand (store located in San Leandro) ice cream. So I stopped off after work specifically to get the Kamala and rose ice cream. Kamala means lotus. It was in stock and I also picked up guava with a hint of chili. Can't wait to try, my stomach might not agree with the lactose, but didn't grumble last time. Also got some samosas as getting off work and didn't feel like cooking. (You will need to warm and they don't come with chutney) But I most come because of the friendlness of the owners and I can get in and out quickly.

This place has good variety of things. The one thing they should improve on is transparency though. Majority of the items have no price sticker on them. On top of that they dont even have a system where you can see the price of each item as it is scanned at the counter. I was thinking the bill would clarify the pricing but alas their has bill has no names of any items, I don't even see the point of this bill. I would have loved to come to this place as my regular grocery store but until they change their ways and be more open about the pricing, I don't see myself coming here again. Please work on changing this.

Kulfi - different flavours (don't worry, they have the larger pint size too)

Are there changes to Hours Open and other operations due to covid? Do they offer pickup or delivery of groceries?

They have the same hours and have a wonderful pickup service. Email or use the website to place your order, pay through mobile pay, and they bring the groceries to your car. I've used this service multiple times and they're very professional.

A must for us every single visit is the Honey Glow pineapple -- if you haven't tried one, you're missing out. They are incredibly sweet, almost like biting into pure sugar, but in the most natural and refreshing way. It's the kind of fruit that's hard to find at your average grocery store, and Berkeley Bowl delivers consistently. Beyond the pineapple, the quality across the board is impressive. The blueberries are plump and flavourful, the oranges are bright and juicy, and the wider fruit selection never fails to catch our eye. It's clear that real care goes into sourcing what ends up on those shelves. For anyone living in or passing through the East Bay, Berkeley Bowl is absolutely worth a stop. It's one of those places that makes grocery shopping genuinely enjoyable, and the produce alone is reason enough to visit.

I rate this restaurant very highly, thank you check please Bay Area!…read moreFirst of all, plenty of parking on the street with mini Solano Avenue shops to pop your head in. The staff at the restaurant are all very kind and welcoming. They seem to really care about your experience. The setting is quite unique: you're surrounded by a Korean small market yet outside the doors you're in getaway of a back patio with trees and foliage surrounding you. Quite serene. As for the food, the menu is quite vast, which I am happy about since I will be back to try everything! This was our second visit and during our first trip we were very happy with the three items we ordered, Rosé rice cakes, Dupp bop spicy pork belly, and Jang pasta w/ pork belly. My wife and I loved the duck bop spicy pork belly because it was not just a huge cube of meat, but instead, it was sliced fin to take on a lot of the good sauce. Today I had the lunch special, which left me extremely satisfied. The portion size was large as I'm a rather large eater anyway... The Bulgogi beef was seasoned perfectly over a bit of cabbage or greens, white rice, and the kimchi spicy pork belly soup as you will see in the image was bubbling hot. Superb but watch out if you can't handle the heat as it is a bit spicy. I would say the prices are fair as well. Reservations were not necessary and attire is very casual.

I recommend going on a Sunday so the 90 minute street parking doesn't apply. We were easily able to get a table for four without reservation. But it was inside. Most people were sitting out on the patio. The back patio is such a cute vibe. It's like a lush garden with mature trees and shade and string lights. I wish they had a separate entrance for it though. I saw a couple people walking their dogs through the restaurant to get to the patio. The market actually has a pretty big selection of items! They even have several large refrigerators. I've never seen so many types of ramen outside a 99 Ranch. We ordered the palace rice cakes, beef cold noodles, spicy tofu, both fried chicken appetizers, and the jang pasta, and drinks. They have a nice selection of drinks that I haven't seen commonly offered at other Korean restaurants before like several types of Korean tea. Everything was delicious! My personal favorites were the jang pasta, palace rice cakes, and the cold noodles. The noodles were perfect to help cleanse the palate from the heavier and spicy menu items. Ur was tasty even without the vinegar. They were very generous with the amount of beef in the rice cakes. It was more beef than rice cake! The cost wasn't bad either. For four people it came out to $145 before tip. The only other suggestion I have is they install an air curtain or mesh curtains to help keep flies out. I really enjoyed Korean Superette and want to go back and hopefully get some groceries too!
