Always come by binge when I'm around berkeley! Easy to order kiosks and there's always flavors every season. There's always students studying while waiting for the drinks. The earl gray matcha was amazing, it mixed well without overpowering each other.
I must admit the World Cup has me binge drinking recently. Especially the motherland Spain is in the finals. I thought I was only going to binge drink in SF . I guess going to the East Bay and going to Berkeley I still have the urge to binge drink. There are so many places to get a drink in Berkeley like at Jupiters. There is one place where binge drinking is encouraged in Berkeley and it's called Binge Coffee House. On a Summer tour of Berkeley I landed at the Binge Coffee House. I just went to Binge Coffee house location on Valencia ( not in Spain) in SF. I guess I wanted to binge drink again. Don Juan de la Matcha had to get some matcha. This time I got the purple yam Ube matcha which was not too sweet and tasty. It was smooth and very consistent to the matcha drinks at the San Francisco location. This time I had to try the banh mi. I was looking for the head cheese and was thinking about the lemongrass but got the combination with the extra pate. It was delicious but the bread was a bit flakey like some I saw on my social media feed. Overall a good spot to binge drink. Go on a Berkeley stroll in another words an "exploration "of the Binge Coffee House East Bay "location" good for matcha for Don Juan de la matcha for any "occasion"and get an Banh Mi I recommend extra pate on their "Combination" This is a place where you can go on a drinking "binge"across the "Bay Bridge" and you don't have to be "cringe "or go off the "hinge"
Binge Coffee House is a Vietnamese coffee shop and the coffee house originally started as Boba Binge in Oakland. The owner later decided to expand and open a coffee shop that uses the traditional Vietnamese slow-drip method (phin drip). Currently there are two Binge Coffee House locations near UC Berkeley (within 0.5 miles of each other) and a new location in San Francisco. This location on Bancroft Way is apparently the flagship location for the coffee house. [Parking]: There is a public parking lot right next to the shop ($2 per hour) and street metered parking a block away on Shattuck Ave (free metered parking on Sundays). [Ordering]: No line when our party arrived at 9 AM on Sunday. Our party placed an order using one of the two kiosks. Our waffle order was ready in 10 minutes, but our party didn't hear my name called so I had to follow up with one of the cashiers 5 additional minutes later. [Atmosphere]: The coffee house has a bar table and six indoor tables. There are no outdoor tables. [Menu]: While this is technically a Vietnamese coffee house, the recommended drinks per the online ordering system are Strawberry Matcha Latte, Banana Matcha Latte, Matcha Latte, Ube Matcha Latte, and Egg Coffee. The shop also sells snacks such as popcorn chicken and pandan waffles as well as light lunch items like Vietnamese sandwiches. *** Ube Matcha Latte (Less Sweet - 75% - $7.50): Cute cup design and the matcha tasted fairly concentrated. The ube cream was solid. Vietnamese Pandan Waffle ($6.50): I thought it was alright - nothing to write home about. *** The matcha drink was not as good as some of the best matcha drinks in Koreatown in Los Angeles, but the drink tasted good enough for local UC Berkeley students who are looking for a decent matcha drink without having to drive out of Berkeley.
They have so many great drinks on the menu, and all of their crème tops looked amazing. Out of the four drinks | tried, the Melon Matcha was my favorite (reminds me so much of Academic). The Pandan Coffee was sweet, while the Strawberry Shortcake Hojicha had a bold hojicha flavor, with the cutest little graham cracker topping. The café is just as pretty as the drinks, with pops of green everywhere that make the space feel fresh and vibrant. I just wish it wasn't so far away : (
Binge Coffee House offers Vietnamese food, cafe drinks, and matcha drinks. Their drinks also come with a unique flavors! I ordered their cookie butter matcha and the melon melon matcha. who knew melon and matcha would be such a great combo? Apparently, Binge did. It was a pleasant surprise, and I loved it! Their cookie butter matcha was also delicious! One thing's for sure, Binge knows great flavor combos, and I will be back to try more.
We stopped here for coffee while driving to Napa. They have a lot of variety on the menu in terms of drinks. The inside of the coffee shop is pretty small, but there were a few people inside studying when I came in early on a Saturday morning. Though you order on a screen, one of the staff greeted me right away when I came in and was very polite. I ordered on the screen and didn't wait very long to get my drinks. I'd gotten a double matcha here and it was perfect, on par with some of the top matcha places in LA. Definitely recommend trying if you're a matcha lover.
Popular Vietnamese and matcha spot in Berkeley! I can see why it's so popular, as they have super strong coffee as well as good quality matcha. The price is also decent compared to other cafes around and for the size. They have a bunch of fun flavored matcha's, my favorite matcha is their earl gray. They do charge extra for oat milk. They do online ordering through snackpass, which makes it super quick to pick up. They definitely do get busy so grabbing a table might be tricky! The workers are always friendly and I keep coming back!
In my never-ending quest for black sesame coffee, I was nearby and googled for one. Binge came up as having black sesame coffee and many others that I would try. Good thing, because when I got there, they were sold out of black sesame, but they had the banana coffee. I am so glad I got it. It was delicious - rich and flavorful, and it held up through the entire cup. Also, they use pebble ice, which makes a huge difference. With pebble ice, as your drink melts down, the flavors still are there because you can crunch down on the pebble ice with your teeth. Think about regular ice and how you're trying to get those last flavors out of a cup, but can't because the ice is in the way. Yes, I've thought about this way too much. I will 100% be back and try many other flavors, including the black sesame.
Binge Coffee is without a doubt my favorite place to get matcha in Berkeley. I've been coming here since they opened, and it's incredible how consistently good their drinks are. I usually order through Snackpass on my phone and pick it up, but there are kiosks in the store where you can order as well. My favorite limited seasonal drinks: Cal Day Matcha (chocolate foam), Cocoa Coffee, Tiramisu Matcha. My favorite regular menu drinks: Ube Matcha, Banana Matcha, Pistachio Matcha, Kyoto Fog, Egg Coffee. Their matcha is always beautifully green and balanced, and the foam on top is delicious no matter what flavor you get. I highly recommend their popcorn chicken and pandan waffle as well. Whether you need a matcha fix, a caffeine boost, or are craving something sweet or savory, they have something for you. Side note: I've been waiting for their "Corn Cloud" drink to return. I've never had corn milk in the US, and I always miss out when they have it on the menu lol.
3.5 stars - Another spot I bookmarked because I saw an IG reel that they enjoyed the mango sticky rice matcha, so I decided to stop by just for that. Parking was very tricky as it's only metered but glad I was able to snag a spot just a block away. The business itself wasn't that big and there were a few customers inside when I arrived on a Friday afternoon. I went straight to the kiosk and ordered the drink. It took about 5 minutes before I received a text that it was ready. The drink didn't blow my mind as I thought it would. I did taste the rice but not much of the mango. The matcha was average even after mixing everything together. I don't drink coffee so not sure if their coffee drinks would've tasted better or different.
Got three different marchas today white peach Matcha, banana Matcha, strawberry Matcha And my fav was banana Matcha. The perfect blend of sweetness and Matcha. Easy to order and they have your drinks ready fast. It is full inside to find seating but I 10/10 recommend and I will be coming back
I got the egg coffee less sweet but it was still pretty sweet. The egg cream was standard. There was this chocolate powder on top of the egg cream so once you mix everything together it kind of tasted like a chocolate or mocha flavor. I wish the coffee was stronger in taste. I saw lots of folks with the matcha so I def want to try that if I am back. You can order on the kiosk so it was pretty easy. There was no staff taking orders so it is all through the kiosks. Plenty of space to do work or study. Parking was rough lol
While looking for unique coffee options I stumbled upon Binge Coffee. My eyes immediately gravitated towards the Black Sesame Coffee. Everything is done through an ordering tablet, so it can be quick. 1st protocol is to stir it so you get a taste of the coffee & Black Sesame. I love it when a coffee isn't watered down bc there's an added component to it, in this case(Black Sesame). I really want that deep, rich coffee aroma to give me that caffeine I need to keep me alert. I would definitely return for other options.

Binge is my go to matcha spot here in Berkeley. For the price, the quality, and the amount I think it's well worth it. I love it when I can actually taste the matcha and my coffee. My go-tos are the Banana matcha and Double matcha. Also highly recommend their Vietnamese egg coffee - I really love the egg cream top. The wait time also isn't too long if you preorder on Snackpass. Tried the ube matcha with 50% sweetness and Oatmilk. The reviews definitely support what my experience was, which was a surprisingly great summer treat that is equally colorful as it was balanced. This afternoon pick me up was not too sweet and kept cool. We ordered through DoorDash but service was super quick and delivery to Jack London was really fast. Can't speak to the ambiance but I am willing to check it out in person because it was that good. FYI: the matcha is strong, might have you doing some exercise afterwards. read more

I ordered the banana coffee and it was good! The cold foam was delicious. I love Vietnamese coffee and this was definitely weaker and much sweeter than my usual order (either traditional or egg cream). But if you like a sweeter coffee you will love this. Definitely is missing that bite that traditional Vietnamese coffees have. I would like to try their original. Pebble should be the industry standard for viet coffee and they did not disappoint. I ordered online for pick up. It's Berkeley so parking is tough but convenient location if you are walking in the area. Not so great to drive through and leave if you are alone. I did not order in store, but I knocked off a star for service. The young woman at the register seemed annoyed with everyone. It was about 11:45am so maybe they have been slammed all morning and I came in on the tail end of it. Not terrible service but also not friendly. read more

Recently took over the old U-Cha location and with a lovely menu with variety! I recommend the Pandan Matcha if you like Pandan. It was well balanced with the matcha and well worth the specialty cost with the portions. Not much seating but if you find one you can definitely settle down and be productive! It may get busy/loud as it is a small space but with some headphones and a flow state you're sure to get work done! 4/5 - Pandan Matcha - You can definitely taste the Pandan and matcha but I thought it could be a bit creamier for my liking. The sweetness was on point with the normal sugar and the ice was perfect in proportion. Nevertheless it was still a fantastic drink that I would get again when I visit again! read more
LOVE their matcha!! They have such an extensive menu and amazing, strong drinks-what a feat. Got the less sweet Kyoto Fog-London fog matcha with matcha foam. SO matcha forward, but can also taste the earl grey. Amazing!! Coco Matcha also really good. Mango Matcha was alright. All very matcha forward with prominent flavors. Small space with lots of studying students. Bathroom was clean-ish. Love it here and will be back (been here a few times before and everything was good then too, banh mis and drinks) read more
Drinks - I ordered the Mango Sticky Rice Matcha and BOY oh boy was the matcha SUPER strong! It was a little bitter for my liking. I wish they had an option to adjust sweetness, ice etc but their drink came pretty standard/set so not much tweaking. Service - ordered on a kiosk and it was super easy and fast. Drinks came pretty fast too. Ambiance - cute little shop. Small tables with lots of chairs that you can add to tables, etc read more
Best Melon Matcha! A must try!! Sweet, creamy, and a nice melon flavor. It reminded me of the green Melona popsicle for its vibrant color and the melon flavor wasn't super artificial in a way that made it awful. It was really good and refreshing. Highly recommend! read more
If you're craving for some Vietnamese coffee then you must visit Binge Coffee House. They have multiple locations but we tend to visit this location since it's closest to us. My husband love their Vietnamese coffee a lot. He usually just get the traditional Vietnamese coffee. As for me, I tend to get different drink every time, not as loyal as him (hahaha...). I recently tried their melon melon matcha. I actually like it since I like melon ice cream and matcha. Pretty good combo. Can't say we're a regular here but we definitely have visited a few per year. read more

Usually caffeine is the last thing I want before bed, but matcha is hard to pass up when you only have a few hours left to explore a city. We visited Binge Coffee House on a whim after dinner while looking for something to end our evening. There are countless cafes in the area, but we kept hearing that this one was worth trying. The shop sits close to UC Berkeley, so it's not surprising that a lot of college students hang out here. Even an hour before closing the place was still packed with students studying. It's also conveniently located near a bus stop which makes it easy to reach by public transit. You can order online, at the register, or through two kiosks inside the cafe. We placed our order online for the melon matcha and the white peach matcha. By the time we arrived our drinks were already ready for pickup, which took maybe five minutes. That's pretty quick for matcha drinks. The quality definitely lived up to the reviews I had read online. The matcha itself was strong and aromatic while still letting the added flavors come through. They also offer flavor combinations I haven't seen before. The melon matcha is inspired by a Melona ice cream bar mixed with a matcha latte, and it honestly tasted exactly like that. It was creamy, not overly sweet, and really satisfying. The white peach matcha was interesting. It took a few sips to warm up to because the flavor reminded me of peach yogurt, which I don't normally associate with matcha. It wasn't bad at all, just a more unique pairing. Hopefully I'll get the chance to come back and try more drinks and maybe some of the snack items as well. read more

Try the spot if you're looking for caffeine in the area! I enjoyed my drink. I decided to try the pistachio Matcha latte. The pistachio Matcha foam was very delicious and flavorful. It was not too sweet. The ice was also chewable and not hard if that makes sense. There was a wait but I decided to order online and I just picked it up. It's a small café some seating but not a lot to where you can be there for hours. It's a corner café so parking can be a little tough because it is parallel parking or street parking. read more

Such a cute spot in downtown Berkeley to grab matcha, study, or hang out with friends. They have a pretty extensive Vietnamese coffee and matcha menu, so you're bound to find something you like. They also sell bánh mì, which I ordered once with zero expectations, and holy hell--it was actually really solid. Like, genuinely delicious. Honestly, better than some specialty Vietnamese delis around Berkeley, though definitely a bit more expensive. I've been here a number of times now, and I'm excited to finally try their coffee soon! read more

Great place for coffee and matcha on a Sunday! Service is good and they have the self serve kiosk where I enjoy taking my time to look the menu. I had the combo banh mi with my boyfriend and it was delicious! The vegetables were so fresh and crunchy, the bread was fresh and crispy. I'm pretty picky with my banh Mis and this hit the spot. Onto the drinks, my boyfriend ordered the coconut coffee and he loved it! Said the aroma was delightful and wasn't too sweet. I ordered the banana matcha latte, the matcha was really good. It was earthy and strong just the way I like it and not the dull green color but a vibrant kind!! The banana flavor and cream was so good not too sweet. They use the crush ice for their drinks which is a bonus!! Will have to return read more

Stopped by Binge Coffee House in Berkeley, located on the corner of Bancroft. In true Berkeley fashion, parking is limited and metered, so plan accordingly. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was crowded -- standing room only. Orders are placed through one of two self-serve screens. Since it was our first visit, the menu took a minute to figure out, but my daughter got the hang of it quickly. She ordered a matcha with fresh strawberries at the bottom and really enjoyed it. I ordered a tea and added lychee jelly, but only received the fresh lychee pieces -- no jelly. Still good, just not exactly what I expected. Overall, we enjoyed it for the most part. It's a popular spot with a lot of foot traffic, and now that we've tried it, we're ready to move on and continue our search for the next matcha spot to try this year. read more

Boho matcha and banh mi study spot! This cafe has great quality matcha drinks and plenty of casual seating if you want to get some work done. You'll order from a kiosk and the barista will call out your drink minutes later. The matcha is smooth and not powdery in texture. I love that there isn't too much ice in the drink, and the fruity flavors aren't too sweet! read more
solid spot! we came for the matcha drinks but the other drinks on the menu such as the viet coffee/egg coffee/ube flavored looked pretty promising as well! id put this place in my top 5s for the bay, good matcha tasting drinks and fun flavor options. decent seating options and reasonable waittime. friend and i went for the kyoto fog and the double matcha. good cream tops, vibrant color, reasonably good sweetness level for their choice of sweetner and good drink presentation as well. they also have some banh mi bites that look interesting. also expect the matcha "green tongue" haha read more

Big fan of Binge! I've done both DoorDash and in-person dining, and they hit the mark every single time. The food is great--the Banh Mis are heavily packed and the popcorn chicken is always perfectly seasoned and generously portioned. But honestly? The drinks are next-level. I've worked my way through most of the beverage menu at this point. From the Café Sữa Đá and matcha to the cloud drinks and hojicha, everything is incredibly well-crafted and delicious. read more

I haven't seen this chain before so decided to stop in and try their matcha latte for an afternoon pick-me-up. There are a couple of tables inside but not really suited for a big group of people to sit without pushing a lot of tables together. I ordered the Mango Matcha Latte with less sweetness, which I suggest because the fruit jam has a lot of sugar already. The drink came out super fast, quite literally 2 minutes after ordering through the kiosk. I could really feel the caffeine from this matcha, though the fruit and milk masks a lot of the matcha flavor. Would be back! read more
I've been here twice so far and both times they were excellent. I haven't had any customer service interactions but that's because you order from the tablets. The first time we went it was early morning and there were just a couple of us in there and they had just opened. I ordered the strawberry shortcake matcha and my husband got the banana matcha. Both were delicious. The 2nd time they were packed and I actually got the same thing and my husband tried the banana iced coffee which was even better than the matcha. Even though they were super busy, I didn't have to wait long. Definitely one of my new favorite matcha spots. read more

Binge Coffee in Berkeley might be my favorite Matcha spot in the bay. Ordering from here is so easy with the self service and it's so quick. There are so many different ways to have your matcha. Our go to is double matcha and the cookie butter matcha. Perfect sweetness and the size of the drinks here are great. The vibes are cool, there's computer-work space here and some spots to hang out with friends too! read more

Had to try the place given the ratings, which speak for themselves. Had the sesame matcha latte as well as the popcorn chicken. They did not disappoint. The latte had a strong sesame flavor and the chicken came out hot and pipping. Service was relatively quick. And the place was never without people; seats were almost always filled. read more
Wish I lived closer because this would be my go-to spot for drinks!! Was visiting Berkeley for the day and my boyfriend's brother originally recommended another matcha place, but we ended up here because they were open a little later! I'm so glad we ended up here! I was stuck between the pistachio or pandan matcha, but ultimately chose pandan. The flavor really stands out here!!! I've had Academic Coffee and Hijau Coffee's pandan lattes, but their pandan flavor is so subtle compared to Binge! I want to try all their drinks from Vietnamese coffee to the cream top matchas. They have such a wide selection of drinks! And they have banh mi too!! read more
I wanted to try out some matcha places w my friends and one of our stops was Binge Coffee House! I got a Melon Matcha with oat milk and it was so yum! If you're a melon fan AND a matcha fan, you'll like this! I think the combination works really well. It's a good balance of sweet and earthy from the matcha and the matcha itself tastes great. I love that the drink is creamy and a nice color too! I would totally come back to try some of their other drinks and menu items :) read more
