I think she does a mediocre job in cutting hair, only because she likes to rush the hell out of your haircut. Maybe if she took her time then it would be a way better experience with awesome results. I came in for a high fade comb over and she couldn't get it right the first time. They don't give you time to inspect the end result with a mirror. I had to go to the bathroom to find out she missed a spot. I asked to just snip of the spot she missed and she was so disgruntled. Definitely the last time I will be coming back here. Don't even think about going to her other barber apprentices, unless you want to wait for Ms. Song to come help and correct the mistakes. The location: very nice, cozy, and clean. The vibe: Jess (the owner) is very kind and sits you down with what they could do and does a thorough analysis on your expectations. What surprised me the most is that their services are gratuity free and they don't charge you extra at checkout like a lot of other salons do which is a big plus. The products: their coloring products are ammonia free, which is great! Raven is often fully booked, so a lot of people get their appointment booked with her a month in advance so she is definitely amazing at what she does. She always made sure I was comfortable and it was honestly the best blow out I've ever had. It was a full on consultation. I learned so much from her! I was able to book with her online and she's friendly and quick. She mentioned that they do take walk-ups but not sure if that applies to all the stylists. I tried to set up appointments for my first cut with a few different stylists and they were pretty bad about getting back to me. They don't carry very many men's products, I prefer the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree line, but they can order it. You just have to plan ahead and let them know, which I'm horrible at until I'm in the shower and out of shampoo. Residents get a 25% discount with Carrie so it's not only convenient but a great deal.
