This is the best store in Sarasota. It's not a cookie cuter mall boring store. It's a beautiful magical store! Perfect store for all your home goods needs . Lovely bedroom pillows and sheets . My cousin and I came in straight from the beach and we were greeted by the man working but the two women working completely ignored us but one of them followed us around the store, like she was worried we were going to steal or something... My cousin has quite a bit of visible tattoos, and being that two women came in directly after us and were treated very differently than us it was clear to see some profiling going on. We ended up buying a couple hundred dollars collectively, but we left very frustrated that it took us until that point to get treated with proper customer service. The store has very cute items but I would like to encourage the associates to not profile and provide everyone with the same level of customer service. read more

A favorite of mine in Sarasota! I can always find the perfect gift and have also gotten some larger furniture pieces for my home here. The staff and owners have always been friendly and I'm usually pretty dressed down. If you haven't been, check it out. This store is lovely, but the 2 attendees have to be the rudest people in the world! Neither spoke to me the entire 45 minutes I was shopping & there was only 1 other shopper in the store!!! I bought a couple little things & told the woman it was my 1st time in the store. She sarcasticlly said they had been there 9 years. I said I had just moved here -- her reply -- I gues you have an excuse then... She asked where from & I told her & she insulted the town I moved from. I told her I had also lived on an island nearby & she completely insulted that place and said she would NEVER live there... Someone needs to teach these ladies some manners & also that every customer counts. It's a lovely store, but I'll never darken their door again. Unfriendly no-return policy. If you buy a full priced item that in your house doesn't quite work as you hoped and you want to exchange it for a better fit, you simply can't. No matter how much you spent or you are willing to spend for the exchange. You can only keep the purchased item or resale it. Not for me. read more

This fabulous shop is Sarasota's best kept secret, but judging by the amount of shoppers there last I visited, it won't be a secret for long. The owners took the old, passe and stale White Elephant antique mall and brought vintage into today's demanding style. A mix of old and new, it's all so beautiful. And for those saying attention is given only to those dressed well, I say we have some ladies who are overly sensitive and reading things that aren't the case. What's so lovely about shopping here is you aren't jumped on the minute you enter noe are you pestered. Anyone greeted at the door is typically regulars or someone returning to pick up items. I've been in wearing my old work jeans and t-shirt and have had nothing but respect from the employees. Do not miss a chance to visit the coolest shop around. Trust me, you won't be sorry. This store is my favorite by far, because I can always find that perfect unique piece. Vintage or new, no matter the project or budget. So good in fact that a movie poster I bought from them, was selected to be videoed on Antiques Roadshow when they were here last year. Also, they could not be more accommodating when holding items, or provide custom painting/modifying to meet your specific needs. I'm surprised by some of the reviews below that the staff was rude based on customer appearance. I've been a customer for 3 years since moving from DC. Thanks to my travel schedule, constant renovations and DYI projects, I have yet to shop there in anything other than old sweats, no makeup and hair that could probably use a good combing. Isabella and Robert, along with their staff, always treat me as if I'm one of the family. They are attentive without being over barring. Unique pieces. Great prices. Wonderful staff. I must agree with all others who say the staff treats you depending on how you're dressed. I went in once "dressed up" and was greeted and almost courted. I went in once straight from the gym and felt like I was going to be escorted out through the service exit. The items are OK. There are shops downtown on Palm Ave who have the same new inventory at basically the same price and nicer personnel. The vintage stuff, too, is OK. There's a lot of window dressing here with little to back it up. The first time I went I was with a friend. The second (and last) I wanted to explore it more on my own. All in all, I'd pass it by. Prices--not great, attitude---hmm, too much. read more

Great store with lots to look at! I could spend hours in here just browsing around looking at all the cool vintage items. The only reason I don't give them a 5 star is because I was blatantly ignored when I walked in while the two ladies behind me were greeted with open arms! I was dressed in sweat pants and tee shirt with paint stains...I was obviously having a DIY day at home and just came out looking for more pieces. It was pretty clear they overlooked me because of the way I was dressed. Which is sad because I ended up spending a good bit of money there. I miss the white elephant exchange! Gone are the quirky unique retro items replaced instead by kitschy little old lady painted furniture... its a shame that it bowed to the overpriced tourist trade... the chubby girl behind the counter was rude when i picked up a vase and no one greeted me... what used to be a unique place is heading in the direction of all the others shops in the area.
