The outside of the building is very run down. Curtains from the outside are stained and not adhered to the curtain rod and hooks, so dirty curtains that didn't close all the way. Our room faced the street, so street noise and light was very prevalent, which affected the sleep of the children. The AC unit was dirty and not working properly. The bathroom was peeling and had mold in the cracks. Carpet was cut in different places. The smoke detector was handing from the ceiling, outlets hanging from the walls. All of this for the same price as a regular priced hotel that is clean and well maintained. It was better than sleeping in our car, but if you have it in you, hold out and go a bit further into Amarillo.

Our 1st stay, wasn't bad at all actually. We got what we paid for in all fairness($94) & the phone call was extremely welcoming. Stayed on the 1st floor easy access to the front entry door for my dogs. Seemed just old & outdated was all. On our way back from our trip we decided wth let's just stay there again since we already know where it is and for the good price of the pet charge. Our 2cnd stay was the WORST hotel room experience we've ever had! (It's the first door on your right, from the back entry door) The smell of just PURE URINE in that HOT room as soon as you walked through that door! It's like no one ever even tried to make effort to cover the smell it was so bad! An actual kennel filled with dog sh*t doesn't even compare! Huge Stains everywhere through out the carpet, big yellow stains on the white bed sheets! We tried so hard to just cover our noses with our shirts and sleep without part of the sheets to make due, & we decided let's just try and get a few hours sleep and be on our way. Saw no point in calling them to complain in this issue so late at night knowing full and well they already KNOW this room is like this but charge and book people in it anyways! It's so absolutely disgusting, There is no way in hell they don't know about this. The hotel isn't big at all, I'd say there's 50 rooms here total for them to keep up with, how do you not fix this disgusting issue?? In fact there's already a review I just noticed on here about room 119 from the year 2016!!! It's 2019!!! Let's just be honest, based on that.. they're clearly never going to resolve this so if you're going to stay here for this price and convenience off the hwy, my suggestion to you is: you've been warned, DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 119!!! Your prices are out of line, meaning too high, and I realize that you realize that. The part that really makes me upset is when I went to bed, that mattress was horrible. It felt like it had raised places in it and was very hard. I layed on it for about an hour, I found no comfortable position. I realized I could not, and would not be able to go to sleep on it. I challenge you to go to room 128 and lay in that bed like i did for an hour and you won't have any trouble understanding my feelings. $84 for that room, you got to be kidding me. You won't return any of my money. If you did I would be in shock. Far as I'm concerned you owe me something for that experience. Tired as I was from 11 hours of driving, and at 12:45am in the morning, I loaded my belongings and was going to try to go to Amarillo and find a room I could sleep in. I went by the Bonanza Motel and looked at a room and it stunk to high heaven. I thought there were only two motels in town, but as I was making my way to I-40 to head to Amarillo, God was watching out for me because there at the entrance to the highway was Days Inn. Thank you Lord because I really don't know what would have happened to me going on into Amarillo at that time of night. He answered my need, or i was just really lucky. I was beat, exhausted, felt horrible. They had sprayed something on the carpet in my room there and that was a negative, but the bed was sooo very comfortable and was a king size, not standard like yours. The rooms are the standard Hampton Inn rooms that are well-maintained and kept clean. I checked in quickly, got my digital key, and was in my room in no time. I was trying to get on the road early and it was nice that the breakfast was up and open a few minutes before the 6:00 start time that they had announced. The breakfast was fresh, hot, and tasty. Located on the south side of town access to the hotel has also improved lately as the construction in the area is now completed. Further development of the area now has an Arbys and a Taco Bueno available with a quick walk across the parking lot. I definitely recommend staying here if you are going through the area.

The happy hour lady is very sweet, the general manager is genuine and truly cares about his hotel and customers experience. The indoor pool is HUGE and heated! The billiards table is a fabulous touch. Beds and pillows are so comfy. And the entire hotel is clean clean clean. Clean rooms, clean pool, clean breakfast area. I love this hotel enough that my kids and I will be coming back just to stay at this hotel as a mini-vacation with more family. I just can't say enough good things about how impressed I am.

Our dogs actually settled down quickly because there wasn't a lot of noise from outside. I was surprised by this because the place was packed with mostly crews from workers doing road construction and other projects. The beds were very comfortable and the climate control worked well. Unlike some pet friendly places, this room had carpeting and it looked clean, although one of our dogs gave it a thorough sniffing. We did have to pay a non-refundable cleaning deposit but it was reasonable. It had a refrigerator and microwave, plus bathroom amenities. There was also some kind of breakfast but sleep took precedence so I can't comment on that.

When she did finally look up she didn't say I'm sorry for the delay, or apologize or anything. Just looked at us like we were just an annoyance in her life at that time. She had an attitude and was NOT friendly at all! She didn't smile and was very rude! My friend asked her what time would the bar open? Her response was NEVER, again friend asked will it ever open and her response was NOPE. I will never stay there again. Honestly, we went in and out a lot and not once did we see her smile in the 2 days of staying there. It would probably be in your best interest for your hotel by getting rid of her. I didn't catch her name because she didn't have a badge on. She was working the desk on Monday the 23rd of March at 4:00 in the afternoon. I could give a description of her but maybe you can figure out who she was by the date and time. Also, if you advertise a bar it should be open. Ridiculous!!!! I'm sure this will never make it to the right people because it looks like there are a lot of complaints about the check in process.
