My…read morefamily and I have been coming to Red Lodge my whole like and stop into the Village Shoppe nearly every time to look around. However, the only memorable experiences we've had have been negative ones. When shopping there we are consistently followed around (making me feel either pressured to buy or like a suspect for theft), I've been snapped at for taking photos of clothing I'm interested in for future reference, and other members of my family have experienced flat out rudeness from the staff. I think of it as more of a place to window shop than a place to hang around.

Instead, she found us a local mechanic after hearing what had happened and was such an amazing gem about it. We really appreciated her hospitality and truly awesome customer service skills!

This owner was so mean and disrespectful. Down right ornery! Hated to ask questions because he would bark at me. I was purchasing several items and making a "pile". Others were in the store and when they left, he called me over and told me i was taking to long and to leave. I was floored especially since i read the reviews and was trying to be so nice to him. They have all the huckleberry jams, candies, wine, beer, etc. that you could ever ask for. They sell postcards, patches that depict the state of Montana. They also have rather healthful foods here- granola bars, pancake mixes. The other side of the shop is all musical instruments! They have everything from mandolins to guitars, bass, and even a trumpet! They sell guitar strings, amp wires, capos, anything you need for your musical needs. I think they even had the sheet music to Merle Haggard's "Big City" about getting dropped off in the middle of Montana. The clerk was pleasant, but minded her own business as I poked around and weighed the different huckleberry options. It seems that when things get cold in this town, a hot jam (whether musical or huckleberry) will always spice things up! Parking was a bit challenging, this place is located on the main strip of Red Lodge, so it's only street-side parallel parking. The shop was ADA accessible, but had some narrow aisles.
