After a full home energy audit, we learned mostly what we already knew: that our attic insulation was quite old and really only provided minimal efficiency. We also knew we needed to seal our duct work and around pipes and returns in our basement. We got quotes from several companies and settled on Energy Savers. Their quote certainly was not the cheapest, but their services were the most comprehensive. We had also heard positive things about them from a couple of other people. The crew who came for installation were nice enough, and the insulation that was blown into the attic went smoothly enough. They did leave a small mess in the hallway, but nothing terrible. The basement sealing was a bit of different situation. The crew was a bit sloppy with the spray foam and duct mastic, leaving several chunks of both on our floors and some globs of spray foam on the tops of our shelves in the basement. Finally, the real issue was that the crew didn't come with the whole house fan cover that was part of the quote we had agreed on. One reason we chose Energy Savers was because of how much they bragged about their "white glove" service, how they do neat and clean jobs, no hassle, etc. This was only somewhat true. After a couple calls with the office, they sent a young guy out the next day to install the cover. This turned out to be a piece of rolled insulation that they attached with Velcro. It was a bit grungy and not at all what the salesman had described when we agreed to it. Not thrilled with the fan cover and the sloppy work in the basement, I called the salesman directly and their main office. We eventually settled on a VERY small refund (~5% of the total bill). This is when I found out this company that had presented itself as local is actually part of larger corporation. The office here notified me that they had already sent the invoice to corporate, and that I would have to pay the full bill and they would process paperwork for corporate to refund me the appropriate amount. This was the beginning of a three-month saga that included me finding a phone number for the corporate office in Ohio and talking multiple times over multiple weeks to people in accounts payable and accounts receivable. We only got the refund after those three months and many calls. The efficiency of our home is certainly much improved, so I cannot complain about the products we actually have (the only reason for the second star). However, the somewhat sloppy work, the rude person in the office here, and the time it took to get someone to actually process the refund we had agreed on were just not acceptable.

Weeks and weeks pass by and I don't hear anything from Bone Dry regarding a date where they plan to come out and get the job done. I get text messages on April 30th, May 14th, and May 28th saying they eager to begin working on my roof. June 15th rolls around and nothing has been done or communicated. The issue had become much worse , where my gutter and gutter board were now detached from my home and laying across my patio. I call their office and speak to someone who says she will have someone reach out to me by EOD. I hear nothing. I call back the following day and notify them that no one reached out to me as they said they would. The person I spoke to told me she was going to contact the main boss (who was on family vacation) to see if someone could reach out to me. I finally hear from someone and they scheduled a crew to come out on June 17th to get the work done. The crew did in fact show the morning of June 17th and got the job done. As soon as the job was complete, I began getting mass amounts of text messages and phone calls to make sure I pay the invoice. If only I received the same effort to get my roof fixed as I did to receive my payment... Not once I have received an apology, communication where they went wrong, nothing (expect constant hounding for payment).

Until there was an opportunity for me to have an independent, reputable roofer give an objective evaluation, at no charge whatsoever, including photos and a full report of damage, I was not aware nor would it have been possible for me to be aware of the extensive, permanent damage you have inflicted upon my home. There is no mold anywhere in the world which is capable of causing huge gaps in flashing on a roof. Multiple large gaps in the flashing on the roof your crew installed here are the result SOLELY of bad workmanship. "Mold" does not cause huge gaps in flashing, leaving wide open holes through which rainwater, melted ice, melted snow are entering the ceiling structures. None of this has anything to do with "mold." The ceiling located directly below the wide open gaps in flashing is water-damaged. A 10-year-old child can understand that the roof is leaking, thanks to wide open holes that were created, by horribly bad workmanship, when the flashing was installed. Look at those photos and tell me where you see "mold!" Blaming your negligence and horrible workmanship on "mold" is beneath you, in terms of an excuse that even a child would be fooled into accepting. So you're saying that "mold" caused the bad workmanship, as displayed in some 27 photos we have. --No! Not even close. "Tree damage" did not cause a drip edge to be incorrectly installed. All of this is at the doorstep of BAD WORKMANSHIP AND DENIAL -- REFUSAL TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. If the roof does not need box vents, why did you personally write into the contract that "box vents" are to be included, with this roof installation?! Shingles are wavy, damaged, uneven, haphazardly installed, and yet this is merely the tip of the iceberg. I guess we can blame "mold" for all of this as well, right? And let's blame "mold" for the fact that roofing cement has been smeared all over electrical conduit, causing permanent damage! YOU WERE INDEED CONTACTED MULTIPLE TIMES, as soon as I discovered the damage you've made to my home. I texted and you did not respond. I emailed multiple times and you did not respond. I filed grievances with Better Business Bureau and with Consumer Protection and you did not respond to them, either. You were asked to respond over and over and over again, before my attorney contacted you.  As soon as you were aware I have these photos, you refused to respond. If there were damaged structures interfering with the roof installation, this should have been noted in writing, including photos, and I should have been informed. But I was never so informed.  Any former leaking was to be definitively resolved with installation of a new roof by Empire Home Improvement.  Instead of work completed in an workmanlike manner, you have left HUGE OPEN GAPS in flashing, in multiple places across my roof.  Rain, melted snow, melted ice are pouring into the ceiling structures. Water-damaged ceiling is directly below HUGE OPEN GAPS in the flashing --- horrible and indeed negligent workmanship by Empire Home Improvement. This has absolutely and literally NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH "MOLD" OR WITH ANYTHING BUT YOUR LAUGHABLY BAD WORKMANSHIP!! You are a thoroughly dishonest person, who does not stand by the quality of his workmanship whatsoever. You were asked multiple times to make this right and you simply ignored many, many requests to respond. Sure, the old roof was leaking -- which is the reason for installing a new roof.  Any new roof is not supposed to leak, Greg.  Any new roof is supposed to PREVENT rain, melted ice, snow, cold air,etc. from having access to the inside structures of the home.  This is not and was not a "mold problem." Did mold cause huge open gaps in the flashing, through which rain, snow, ice, cold air, etc. are entering the ceiling structures?!  I'm sorry but your explanation is simply WRONG.   You have not examined the roof.  You did not inspect it when your crew was finished. If you had, then you would recognize the DAMAGE caused by your crew. Electrical conduit has been smeared and covered and damaged by roof cement -- more horrible work by your crew. That incorrectly installed drip edge is not the fault of anything but your bad workmanship. Shingles are wavy, uneven, and generally installed in a totally INCOMPETENT, NEGLIGENT MANNER.  I am owed a new roof PLUS the cost for repairing extensive purposeful DAMAGE to my home, caused by Empire Home Improvement.  We have the required proof and this will not be the forum.

He showed up the day the insurance estimator came to do their estimate, he spoke with him and walked with him through the process making sure he considered everything listed on damage Empires damage report. he brought out several options for roof color as well as gutters. He started within 2 weeks of the insurance approval etc. I was very happy to see that he had his crew fix a facia at the peak of my house that was NOT damaged by hail but was in rough shape. He also had them replace screens on 2 windows that were old and in rough shape but was not damaged by the hail. I appreciated those things being replaced and he did that on his own to make them look nice. Greg always responded very fast when I would text or call with questions, his communication was very good throughout the entire process.

Literally the wood under my shingles was rotten due to not having it properly installed 5-6 years ago. When Juan came out for consult he was so comprehensive with his efforts.
