I've been visiting Bend about 4x a year for the past 5 years and I was so happy to hear that Boneyard was opening a bigger taproom!!! The entrances to the building are a little odd, wasn't sure where to enter and then opened a blacked-out door to find a very dark and cave-like setting, a biker bar setting and was thinking, am I in the right place? Turns out that Boneyard has made a bar with multiple atmospheres, a great and new idea! The front bar section has black leather booths and a black leather counter and a full bar. Through there you walk into a much better light section with couches and round tables and then you finally find the taproom! It's a bit of a surprise upon your first visit but the outside space is the highlight of it all, I saw at least three beautiful fireplaces and a huge amount of seating!!! The bartender was inviting and took his time explaining the set menu flights they have created and also adding you can make your own it just may cost a bit more. Trusting my bartender, I went with the Hoppy flight -- and I'm so glad I did. Each beer was delicious but the new orange ipa was unbelievable YUMMMMMMMM it even smelled like heaven. I also peeked into the kitchen and one of the chefs prepping while moving along to the music, happy chef, happy customer :) Oh and on a last note- the menu, like the space is a bit eclectic, something for everyone. Ramen, chilli cheese dog, beet salad to mention a few things I've never seen together ever before haha! It's definitely different so if it's not your style, remember, you're there for the beer and the beer will keep you coming back again and again! read more

We have loved Boneyard for years, and when they moved to their new location last year, we did not stop in because they had just opened. It was slammed! It seems that some of the excitement has died down. We went on a Sunday evening around 8 pm, and it was not busy. We were a little confused by the ordering online part, but I understand that this method of ordering has made it a lot better. I wish that I had seen a QR code for the link to order instead of having to type in the link. Maybe there was one, but it wasn't obvious to me. Beer is great, although my husband said RPM and Hop Venom are not as good as they used be a few years ago. I got the Taco Bowl, and I would definitely get it again. Polenta Tots were good, too! I'm really glad more breweries have food at them now. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but the beer was not very cold. The only burger on the menu had 2 Pattie's that were mashed so thin, they were hard. Customer service was non existent. Had to pay on the app and wasn't given a choice of a tip. It was automatically added to our bill with no way to decline or change. Will not recommend or go back. read more

The YS had been anticipating this opening for a while. So, when we were in Bend we decided to stop in here. This is a popular place and all the parking spaces were full. We ended up parking on the street across from the place and running through traffic to get to it. When we went in I expected the place to be packed as the lot was full, however, it was surprisingly roomy. In chatting with one of the employees she said that it has the capacity for 420 people and that the area is so roomy even with a full parking lot it doesn't seem elbow to elbow in there. Their menu was different, in a good way, as it doesn't have the normal pub grub on their menu. In fact they do not serve french fries at all which was surprising but OK with me as you can order fries anywhere. I got a bowl with jackfruit and various other veggie offerings. It was very good and an ice tea. The YS got a poke bowl and a beer. I can't speak to the beer as I'm not a drinker of that but everyone there that was loved it. They have been open about two months and are doing well from all appearances. I will go back and try it again. read more

Incredible hoppy beers--just a great lineup of IPAs of all shapes and sizes. Other good beers too. Nice big space, plenty of seating indoors and out, plenty of TVs. They embrace the sports fan, for sure. Lots of nice people working here. Super nice folks. Unfortunately, they have either gone after or just ended up with the meathead end of the beer geek spectrum. Lots of dudes dressed almost identically hanging out for beers and ballgames. You can pretty much ignore this, but sometimes only for so long: there are very few couples or families in here. The menu is solid, lots of stuff we all like with a beer. But the execution could be better--the wings are just re-warmed before service, drenched with sauce. The wings would be pretty good if they were hot, same goes for the sauce. But eaten lukewarm, they're not great. Same with the ribs. Nice meaty rib--good cut, good portion. Nice flavors to it. And you can't obviously cook ribs to order. But they barely warm them up, so the sauce doesn't caramelize, it just stays gooey. And the meat is lukewarm. The beers were delicious--the kegs we get in Seattle were great here, the local stuff was just as good. I loved the staff; some of the cooler bartenders in Bend. Nice clean bathrooms. But lukewarm food and a brodown get-together clientele kinda wore me out. read more

This place is cool. I really like the variety of food options, from curry to poke. I like the poke bowl and also the waffle with jackfruit on top, so interesting and unique. We didn't get food but the white stout was one of the best beers I've had. Also got an ipa which was very good as well. We were so excited about this place. The atmosphere is good. If we didn't come specifically for food I'd give it a better rating. We were a table of 5 and all got different dishes. The food was a serious let down, we all agreed. The spices in the chili tasted the same as the edamame, and the same in the queso. It was all the same spice. My friend ordered a teriyaki chicken dish off the menu (sticken chicken) the chicken was so bland and the ride was generic white rice with a broth at the bottom like a soup. Not good. read more

Current Covid Update- Unfortunately the pre-existing Wench- mobile Phone Ordering system that gave you the ability to order a 2nd round of drinks or more food from your table is Not Currently Active. I don't know the details of what happened, but it sounds like a technology/server issue that went down hard. It is unfortunate, because that concept makes a lot of sense during Covid times. Regardless, Boneyard Beer was able to adapt and still requires mask when moving around the property, but when at the table with your own group you can remove your mask. And, ordering for food and drinks needs to be done by walking up to the bar, there is no server service to each table, so that eliminates some contact time with other people. The beer quality has not changed, it is delicious, and satisfying with the right balance between bitter and hops. One of the servers even offered us a free taster, because I was on the fence deciding between which beers to select in my tasting tray and when he brought it out to our table, he provided both beers with all of the tasters! It was really nice, and not as common these days. read more

Went here yesterday on a Thursday. Arrived at 8:06PM and was told by staff that Bend City rules are that no one can sit down at a bar or restaurant last 8PM since there is a 10PM curfew.... I'm from California so that seemed odd to me. 2 hrs before the curfew and no one else is allowed to dine? I'm trying to give you my money! He proceeds and tells me the best option i have at 8:06 to eat is to go get fast food.... That no where in Bend will sit me now that it's past 8. WOW. I stopped into Boneyard Pub while traveling on 6/24 only to buy three t-shirts. When I got home and went through receipts I noticed that I had been automatically charged a 20% tip - on what was a retail sale of goods. I called the pub to correct what was clearly a mistake and was told that their system automatically defaults to a tip screen because their system cannot separate retail from Pub sales. However, the guy took all pertinent info and told me the refund would be applied and he'd have the GM call me back to confirm after their lunch rush. Nearly a week later, no refund and no phone call from the GM. Granted, we're only talking about $12 but... what a sh***y business practice, approaching fraud; I'm certain I'm not the only person this has happened to. Guy tried to reverse blame and guilt me by saying I had the option on the screen to zero out the tip but - who ever needs to even think about this for a retail sale? We love Boneyard. The staff are the nicest, most accommodating, friendliest people ever. Their beers are pretty good and their adult slushies are delicious. Why duck a star you ask......it's still the SALT issue(sigh). UNDER salting is always better than OVER salting. This visit, we had Filipino chicken in adobo sauce, Bang Bang Belly in Thai sauce and chili. The chicken's adobo sauce was waaaay too salty and there was too much the rice couldn't compensate for the dish. The Bang Bang Belly was beautifully presented and the fried pork belly was crunchy and delicious. Loved the Thai sauce it's served with too but it was salty again and sauce was too much compared to the rice ratio. The more you ate, the saltier it gets which is just sad because I liked this dish a lot. The chili was good but a tad salty too. Don't get me wrong, we love salt but in moderation. They kindly offered to redo the chicken dish for us but we declined. My kiddo instead opted for the quesadilla. Their version is different and we liked it. They used crunchy tortilla and it works. Wings were dry and poorly seasoned. The ranch and blue cheese that came with them were watery and not flavorful. The beer was decent, but certainly in the lower tier of Bend beer. The only saving grace was their pretzel which was, "perfectly average." Also, you order from a QR code and never interact with the waitstaff, who look unenthused to be there. The food I ordered for my husband and I to share was the pretzel and the polenta tots. I don't think he realized what polenta was so he hated it, and ended up not a fan of the pretzel. The rest of us loved the pretzel However.. the rice that came with the kids meals (which I assume is the same rice used for their rice bowls) was really old, dry, clumpy, bland and gross. I was super excited to try out the new brew pub. I had previously been to the tasting room a few times and loved it. As an avid beer drinker boneyard has always been one of my favorites. The good, the staff is amazing. Prompt service, super friendly, addressed the issues I had the best they could. The not so good, Food was a bit on the pricey side. $11 for a pretzel, $10 for some pub nachos. $10 nachos doesn't sound horrible, it only gets expensive when the size of the plate of nachos is underwhelming. I asked if they could do 1/2 pulled pork 1/2 ground beef and was told it was one or the other. I understood and went with the pulled pork. After getting my order I understand why they couldn't do 1/2 and 1/2, if there was 3oz of pulled pork I would be surprised. How do you do half of almost non existent? The presentation and the flavor was good but the value just wasn't there. Now the bad, I understand I came in on a holiday weekend Sunday night, I didn't realize that this place doubled as a chuckle cheese. I was fortunate enough to find a seat at the bar, where I like to be. The dining room was way over filled with children that where lacking supervision. I feel sorry for the staff who where losing out on tables of people waiting because the tables where filled with kids under 11. A group of 25 people ordered maybe 8 beers and 17 waters. I understand I didn't come to a 5 star restaurant, but I also didn't come to a playground. Dang it, I can't go back to this place anymore. It's too bad because I really like their burger. The bar side is nice, it's dark and cozy, the other side feels more like a cafeteria with the bright lighting. The reason I'm not going back is my issue with the lack of service. It's all about self serve. Find your own seat, scan the QR code, order online, pay online and don't expect anyone to check on you after they zoom by and drop off your food order. It's frustrating to be sitting 10 feet from the bar with empty drinks on my table and to see the staff happily knocking back a few at the bar counter. I get that other businesses are also using the QR code model, but when I have to go to the bar to order my cocktail that's not an easy click and swipe it doesn't feel like I'm getting any better service than a fast food restaurant. Then there's the gall of asking to include a tip. There's no assumption that I need to tip at McDonald's nor should there be with Boneyard's current model of service. read more
