While I'm glad my furnace was replaced, as a new and first time homeowner, I was expecting to get an honest recommendation from the technician. The technician recommended that it was better to get my furnace replaced versus being repaired. Therefore, I did choose to get my furnace replaced because of the technician's recommendation. This appointment was made through my home warranty, and the technician chose to not tell my home warranty that this was the recommendation and told them I made the choice on my own. This is not 100% factual. I feel very used and disappointed in this behavior. Not only this, but having to pay upfront BEFORE the installation of the furnace? And getting charged an extra 200$ that isn't included on the invoice at all? Claiming an "additional fee" and it's not documented on any paper work I have? Not only all of this this, but now our AC unit is "buzzing" any time the furnace is on and this was not an issue before the install. So clearly the installation was not done correctly, and I do not feel comfortable letting this company back anywhere near my home to fix this issue because they are not trustworthy. I feel as though this was done to just complete the job and not to actually help a customer. Just men taking advantage of a new homeowner. While I am only one customer, I hope this review will sway others from here and I will not be working with this company any further and I will not recommend this company to anyone else who needs HVAC assistance. read more

this guy also showed up through home choice warranty. He came out looked at the ac unit and said it needed replaced. Then he had the nerve to ask for 5200 dollars upfront with this choice warranty supposedly kicking in another 3000. I knew right then and there he was a scammer so i told him to come on out for the check. Well he did show up, i think his name was jim. When he got here i asked him where the contract was at, he told me he couldn't get me a contract until the installers provided one. Evidently he wasnt the installer. Had no install date had no info on he replacement but sure wanted that check it was almost insulting. Needless to say I threw him out of my house. Never ever do business with these people and home choice is a big scam they send some bufoon like jim out wanting big bucks with no contract knowing most people wont pay up without a contract therefore absolving them from providing any repairs since you have to use there provided contractors. This is one of the worst contractor i have worked with. What ever you do NEVER PAY HIM UPFRONT. I got this contractor through Choice Home Warranty. He was suppose to change my 3 ton AC compressor. He demanded upfront payment and 3 months down the line he changed the compressor to a 2.5 ton. The AC was not cooling then i realized it was 2.5 ton instead of 3 ton. Then he brought a 3 ton compressor and tried to install it and broke the existing bracket. I demanded a full refund. He initially said he will refund but never paid me back. I was out of $3500. I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau, but did not yield any positive result. I complained with the CHOICE HOME WARRANTY and they raised their hand up. HOT WATER HEATER REPAIR/REPLACEMENT: Bonita's Way is coming through for us again... our hot water heater appears to need replaced/repaired and we are customers of a home warranty company with which Bonita's Way works. I phoned the owner this morning (on his "off" hours) and spoke to him on his personal cell and he said he would pick up the claim and process the paperwork upon his return to the office today. This is twice we have used Bonita's Way /James D. and he is a responsible and timely business person/company to work with. read more

Jim Durgin from Bonitas came and made more of a mess than I had before I contacted Choice warranty. I have a leak coming from my bathtub faucet, so he went and busted the knob off and told me I can't use the shower! He didn't know when he would return or if it was covered under the warranty. Now I'm left with no shower, because I can't use the knob. Choice is giving me the run around because they don't want to pay for it. What a lousy company! You get a big zero! UPDATE!!! I hired an actual Heating and AC guy and all the AC needed was a $20 booster added to the capacitor. Thank you John! Bonita's Way insisted that the compressor was bad and the entire system needed replaced for $3600, and that was just the price of an A-coil and labor. The other crooks, Choice Home Warranty were only going to cover the condenser and labor. AC is blowing ice cold again for $20. Save your money and hire someone that is honest and actually knows what they are doing. read more

I have a home warranty with Choice Home Warranty. They sent out James with Bonita Way. He analyzed my air conditioner which was 26 years young, James told me the compressor was shot and the system needed to be replaced. He ordered the parts and His men came out 3 days later. Before he installed the air conditioner they found the heat exchanger had cracks and recommended a new furnace. Choice home warranty agreed with the assessment and ordered furnace parts. Four days later his men came out and installed the furnace and air conditioner. Job well done read more

My hot water tank is leaking all over my basement floor from the top. It took 48 hours to get, what I thought was a appointment from a contractor from my warranty company. I was given a date and time via email. When I got a no show, I called the contractor's office and they said that they didn't have a person to send and that I was suppose to call them to request a date and time. Not at all in the conformation email from Choice did it say to do this. On appointment day, the vendor didn't show within the window of expectation. They called 25 minutes later saying that they're 30 away. I told them that was unacceptable. I asked Choice for another vendor. read more

I would never recommend this business to anyone. This provider was sent to our home to repair a built-in refrigerator unit. They were contracted with the home warranty company and collected the full warranty amount under our contract. They came to our home 13 times over the course of 10 months and were unable to repair the unit, leaving us without a working refrigerator. We ended up suing them to have returned to us the amount that they were paid under our home warranty and prevailed in court with a judgment against them. Even with the judgment, they are refusing to pay the amount they owe us. The repairmen were rude and disrespectful, used swear words in front of our minor children, would stand on our countertops while wearing soiled work boots. The owner is not interested in doing the right thing, has a poor business sense, and will not even return telephone calls. I purchased a refrigerator and they give me a 1 year warranty, and said all parts are covered in warranty after 2 months the refrigerator stop working when i call they demanding for a service call charges $100, when i paid them, called them for 3-days their technician showed up after 3-days and said the compressor is not working it needs to be replaced, and compressor will cost $400+labor+installation, when i recall the technician that the parts are covered, then technician said yes, yes, yes, the compressor is covered but labor is $800, just for replacing the compressor, and give me an option to buy another one if i want to repair i need to pay them $800. This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with....they put a air conditioning and furnace in my condo...they took months to start the job, then showed up at 11:00, left for lunch at 12 and came back at 2:30 sick! In April this contractor was hired to do some repair works for an AC unit at my house here it is June and the completion of the work has not been done. I have contacted choice home warranty on this guy several times he has refused to contact me so ultimately I got rid of the home warranty program and the contractor himself the home warranty did issue a refund and I asked this contractor for a refund and told me it would be 30 days before it would be initiated here it is he called me back and said that the parts are in that he would have to charge me a restocking fee. Mind you a hefty restocking fee, so I contacted the warranty company who I no longer have and they said he is absolutely wrong that he will be good and contacted by the vendors relations program they have and if he does not refund my money within 24 to 48 hours minus a stocking fee he will be removed from their vendor program. This guy is absolutely a fraud scam and he prays on people that will not take him to the magistrate. I will not escalate the process I urge everyone who deals with this guy to take him to the magistrate, and if you're dealing with a contractor such as a home warranty program to call them and let them know exactly what he's doing, I have yet to receive my refund of $3000. If I could have gave 0 stars it wouldn't have gave them one...I have them come out to give me an estimate and it cost me $80 to point a laser thermometer and say its a bad defrost control valve which he's said would cost $350 to replace some I said I'll get a new refrigerator first...so I call indianola appliances dude comes out for free tears it apart and shows me how and why it was the compressor not the valve...then tells me the valve would cost me $150 installed and I even got to take the core back for $50 so it would cost me $100 but the compressor will cost close to $350 just for the part...so not only was he wrong but wouldn't refund the estimate that he was wrong with hung up on me 3 times now has blocked the number so he don't even have to deal with his incompetence...if you need repairs or used appliances start your search there read more

Beware of this company! They were assigned to us by our HSA to repair a kitchen exhaust vent in April. Jim came out and said it was an extensive repair. He charged us over $1200 on top of what the HSA paid and claimed that the part would take about a month to come in. We didn't hear from them until I called in June. Gina said that the part was still on back order, but was able to schedule a date in July for the repair/ replacement. Jim showed up with NO part. If you want to waste your money this is the company to call. Hopefully you will read this and not do what I did. They were no show three times after they had my money. I usually never get taken like these people took me. They wanted their money up front and told me the part was back ordered. I called GE and they told me they could get me the part the next day. They told me what the part cost, which was $123. When he finally got here he left the dishwasher leaking with water. He tried to tell me it did this previously but I know it never did and showed him why it never leaked before. He left one screw out of the dishwasher. He was the only one ever to work on this unit. Since then he has done nothing but no show. On top of that he was here for an hour and his labor cost was $300. He told me that it was going to cost $100 an hour for him to replace the rubber seal.
