You talk to the front desk, and they'll tell you there's an hour wait if you don't have a reservation. You look around and see open tables. You think: "that's odd". You check on the website and it says you can get a reservation for 15, 30, and 45 minutes from now. You select a reservation for 15 minutes from now, and magically there isn't an hour wait for you anymore. You note the still open tables and the line not moving. The restaurant is very loud. They're doing late 2010's industrial chic with not a soft surface in site and garage doors, so everybody's conversation bounces around indefinitely. You wait a while for a server to come. I find the way the food looks when it arrives is always different than the way it sounds when you read the menu - sometimes for better, and sometimes for worse. The coffee and bar menu is pretty decent for a brunch place. Prices are on the high end, though some are more reasonable than others. Then you get hit with a 3% credit card fee which isn't adequately disclosed on the menu or when you enter the restaurant.

They offered milk substitutes for my friend who is lactose intolerant. Prices are pretty decent here. Banh mi is around $8 which is pretty standard but it's a really good banh mi. Drinks are also around $7-$8 depending on what you get. We went right after tet and we saw they had these cute reusable cups there, they said the promo was over but they gave us these cups for free since we bought enough. There is not much seating here, most people seemed to just pick up to go but our group likes to sit here and talk and it's a nice ambiance for it. It ended up tasting extremely bitter--more like strong black tea than anything strawberry. Paying $7 for a drink my kids wouldn't even touch felt like a waste. I went back to ask if they could make it sweeter or offer a different drink. I wasn't asking for a refund, just a chance to have a better experience. They added sweetener but it still tasted very bitter and said their policy doesn't allow to change drinks. To make things worse, staff were speaking to each other in another language right in front of me instead of communicating directly (when they both can speak perfect english), which felt unprofessional. Overall, disappointing experience and not very accommodating to customers.

I have been back numerous times to try their vast menu of waffle choices and coffee. The small cafe is always bustling with visitors on the weekend - if you are looking to dine in, arrive early or be prepared to wait for a seat. I highly recommend for anyone to check out! My eggs were runny and I had to get her attention in order to ask her to please get me eggs over medium. I received the eggs and she didn't come to the table to follow up. I needed water and I had to call to another waitress and asked her if she could get me water. The young lady was polite however not following up with the customer is not a good thing. The ambiance is never the problem it is the service.
