A beautiful property with incredible views and fantastic hospitality, though our stay had a bit of a rough start due to an unexpected blackout. The best part of this inn is easily the scenery and the staff. The panoramic views from the hotel rooms and the dining area are absolutely incredible, looking right out over the water.
The warmth and hospitality of the hotel staff are a huge reason why this place still gets a very good rating from us. However, on the day we checked in, the entire local area hit a major power outage. Because the hotel does not have a backup generator, we had no electricity, no AC, and had to navigate around with a flashlight. After a long, exhausting day of hiking, the lack of power definitely soured our initial experience.
For practical visitor info, guest parking is conveniently located on the backside of the hotel, and a nice breakfast is included with your stay. They also have laundry facilities available for guests, though you will want to keep in mind that there are restricted hours of usage. Overall, it is a lovely base for exploring Gros Morne, but a backup generator would make it a flawless 5-star stay. read more
