Incredible care coming in during the middle of the night. I saw all of the bad reviews and was skeptical, but everyone here cares. 5 stars

This is in response to the negative comment above. Robert Blomquist has been a God-send for me. I have had chronic pain and headaches for several years. I've seen therapists, doctors, massage therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists and the like. Robert was recommended by one of my practitioners, so I set up an appt. My first appt. was nothing short of miraculous! He released so much pain and pressure, I had a hard time believing what I was feeling - relief! His techniques are different, but that was the best part about it. He's the first therapist I've come across who truly understands referral pain and how the body works. The man found painful areas I didn't even know I had. He asked to work on my tailbone after a few appointments, to which I consented to after he explained how it may help. He kept me modest and brought in another practitioner to help. It wasn't a big deal. It's not much different than a masseuse working on your glutes. As it turns out, mine was slightly turned to one side, which he corrected. A visit to Robert requires an open mind and at least some understanding of how the human body works (or be willing to learn). Robert is a kind, gentle, and funny person. He's also a very uniquely skilled physical therapist. I highly recommend him to anyone in pain. read more

Also in response to Robert Blomquist, he's was also a Godsend for me, my husband, both my parents and several friends. My TMJ was interfering with my daily life and had been for years, after a handful of appointments, my pain was nearly gone and by then end of my appointments, I walked out of there pain free and my body in complete alignment, not just my jaw! My jaw clicks but that's due to a bone spur or arthritis, it remains pain free and it's been over a year since I've seen him. My husband had a back issue he thought he'd need surgery for but Robert Blomquist was able to get him back into alignment, pain and surgery free! Both my parents feel better than they have in years due to their various issues. Robert is very gentle, explains what he's going to do and why, gives you easy exercises to do at home, he listens well and truly a gift to our town. I'm so grateful he came highly recommended to our family as he's changed our lives! read more

I've been to Bonner General several times over the years, as well as my spouse and other family members. From simple tests to surgery and over night stays as well as ER visits. We've always had good care. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Friends have had to go elsewhere or chose to go and were not happy. Especially having to wait upwards of 10 hours in their ER being very ill with Cancer and serious breathing issues with Covid. This is the first time I've commented on Yelp. Is Bonner General perfect? No, but it does deserve a 4 star. The other hospitals in the area have their issues as well. We choose to only seek care here because the other hospitals aren't perfect either. read more

This is the worst hospital in the world! Get them in and out without regards for the patients safety or health. All they're excuses surround insurance, even when they code wrong. Doctors and nurses don't consult patients family members on post emergency room care. And when it comes to their patient advocates, WORTHLESS. We have a family member that's be in and out of the ER 11 times via ambulance only to have Bonner General call after he gets to pick him up, nothing we can do for him He had a uti, swollen legs and dehydration. Really! Do not go here, it's worth it to drive or ambulance to KMC! read more

5 stars to Katie in Speech Therapy ! But the general reception at the hospital was dark and distant. Bonner General Hospital should have more upside potential but for some reason you get a cold reception there and leave with the impression that you were a general inconvenience. Not sure why they treat people that way when patients have the option to drive to CDA or Spokane instead for better service. But thank you Katie !! read more

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. I can not believe that this place is still up and running. my daughter is there right now because urgent care and minor emergency is closed. Her hand is severely swollen due to a bug bite of some kind and she is being asked if she wants to be seen or if she just wants to sit in the waiting room. Why would she be there just to sit in the waiting room? Are they serious? Asking for a maiden name, she keeps telling them her last name is her maiden name. They do NOT listen.I myself had to visit a yr ago over endo flare up. They literally charged myself and my insurance over a grand to have them do nothing but ask me what I thought was the issue and said "yep let's go with that" and sent me on my way. This place is filthy. The staff is extremely rude. Its disgusting. I will be making the drive to CDA if we ever have to go to a hospital again. This place needs to be shut down, cleaned and staffed with ppl who actually care to do the job needed to provide the proper care for patients. (Zero Star rating!) I took my son in to Bonner general hospital the night before last and he had to have an emergency appendectomy. Everyone in the ER were Professional but very friendly and made my son feel at easy! They got us up to a room and my son scheduled for surgery fairly quickly. And then we had a wonderful nurse named Alesha. She was so friendly and she made sure that both my son And I had everything we needed to be comfortable! Doctor cannon and the anesthesiologist who I didn't get their name were both great! Robert Blomquist diagnosed and treated my heel/ankle pain during my first visit with him. I had been suffering for nine months and had seen 4 doctors before a friend told me about Robert. I was amazed at the relief he gave me in just one visit! He is a gifted physical therapist. read more

I drove an hour and a half from Montana to come to my appointment that was scheduled a month in advance. I was 15 minutes away from my appointment when the office called me to cancel. I was then asked to reschedule a month out since they didn't have availability. I will be going elsewhere. The office didn't care that I had a daughter in school to pick up and my husband and I had to take the day off of work to come and had a timeframe to work with. They were rude and unprofessional and I would not trust them with my time or my health. read more

I love this Hospital. The staff is friendly and many remember my name. a little over a year ago I went to the ER. They were prompt. I had an MRI and before I knew it I was on a helicopter down to Spokane. Side note, get helicopter insurance for your family it's too affordable not to. Also, I'm a veteran. They handle all of my needs seamlessly with the VA. read more

Would drive an hour to CDA or Spokane with my arm cut off and sitting in my lap before I ever go to this hospital again. Went to ER with server back and abdominal pain that had gotten so bad I had not slept or ate in days and could barely stand up or walk. Was admitted to ER and was given pain killers and steroids and told it was probably my Saitic nerve, but they couldn't tell without a CT scan or MRI. I asked to be scanned and was told they could not do that there. So, I asked if they could get one scheduled for that day or the next and was also told they could not. Was sent home. Went to Kootenai health in CDA to the ER where They performed a CT scan and found that my pain was being caused by a mass in my abdomen which turned out to be cancer. They do have a CT and MRI machine, but the doctors refused to listen. Should change their name to Bonner General Morgue!!!! Also trying to get medical records from them is like trying to turn the sky pink, have been calling and leaving messages with records department for 4 days and have not heard back even though their message says they will return your call within 24 hours. Doctors here are not honest or straightforward with you about your medical care or potential prognoses- you are only notified of a problem LONG after it has happened, when there is nothing you can do about it. They are not at all proactive. Some will even lie to avoid telling you the truth- they'll say things like "the ultrasound machine is broken, come back tomorrow" when they see bad news on it. ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF. INSIST on information. My medical records were completely inaccurate and inconsistent, and even in some cases, with complete lies recorded on them. Your records are never reviewed by anyone to coordinate care- which is of the utmost importance when you see a new doctor every time you visit (their standard of practice). When you complain about this, they will say "this is the first time I'm seeing you." Yea, well, it's the first time you see anyone there, so that's not an excuse you expect a physician to make when you have complaints. Obtain copies of your records every time you visit, and demand immediate corrections when you notice inaccuracies. Everyone who sees you is accountable and responsible for reading your charts and knowing your situation. Force them to do it. Complain when they appear not to have. Do not worry about coming across as rude. If you don't speak up, you may regret it. I know I do. Their providers' knowledge is woefully out of date. I hope you know how to read BMJ, PubMed, or at the very least, WomensHealth.gov and MedlinePlus.gov, because if you are not educated, and if you don't know how to advocate for yourself, you will certainly suffer here if you are not a textbook, normal, uncomplicated, or commonly complicated patient. The doctors here are very friendly, which gives you a false sense of security. Don't fall into the trust trap. Do your own research, especially if you're not satisfied with their responses to your concerns or questions. If you're wrong, there will be little to no consequence. If they are wrong, and they were, in my case, it could ruin your life. Don't ask questions about your care here and expect to get any answers. You will get told "this is just what we do." Even when you insist, even when their own ultrasound technicians suggest follow-up, and even though your medical conditions obviously merit individualized care. For the rest of my life, I will sincerely regret accepting their answers, and trusting them. You are told symptoms are normal when they ARE NOT NORMAL. In fact, my symptoms were indicators of a catastrophic health outcome, and every time I expressed my symptoms to doctors here, they were dismissed as either normal, or "stress." If I hadn't done my own research about treatment options for other conditions I had, I wouldn't have even known there were any (because their doctors certainly didn't offer any options). Insist on investigation, insist on treatment. If you think something isn't normal, leave immediately and get a second opinion. I got second and third opinions, and both physicians I saw corroborated what I thought; that the doctors at BGH were wrong. Do not trust their judgment if you have a gut feeling. You are paying for your care- YOU deserve proper, individualized treatment. They work for you. Never forget that. They bill anywhere from two to three times the national average for services, as listed by various watchdog websites that now record these statistics. They will use intimidation tactics, and will even lie to you about your insurance coverage when you express a desire to look elsewhere for care due to costs. I caught their biller in two lies- that my insurance wouldn't cover a provider out of state (they certainly do- in network, too), and that there was no other provider who wouldn't double bill, or price gouge, for services like ultrasounds (I have since found several who do not). They charged me about $800 for an ultrasound. The national average charge is about $230-$250. My insurance website says I should only have been charged about $170 (and that's the charge listed for a specific doctor working at that practice, too). Oh, and they'll press you with your bills right before appointments that you might receive awful news at. It's so courteous of them! The only way I would ever return here is literally if I would die before making it to another hospital. And even then, I would fear for my life. I will never, ever forget what happened to me here. A close friend of mine shared a story with me of a hospital acquired infection that her husband suffered from here post-surgery, and I wish I would have taken her experience more seriously. Don't make the same mistakes I did. If you want advice, I'm happy to help anyone who has no choice but to come here. But my first line of advice would be- GO TO KOOTENAI HEALTH. They are affiliated with the Mayo Clinic now, so they can transfer particularly complicated cases straight to the Mayo Clinic, and their hospital has fantastic ratings. read more

This hospital will allow their doctors to sexually assault you! The physical therapist, Robert Blomquist, said it was standard practice to put his hands down the back of a woman's oants and massage her tailbone for NECK PAIN. Of course, caught off guard and believing the doctor knew what he was talking about, the practice was consented to. However, after speaking with other physical therapists and feeling very upset by the experience, it was revealed this is not standard excepted practice, has no basis in evidence based medical practice, and this doctor has a reputation for being sexually inappropriate but protected by this hospital. A complaint was raised with the manager who said it was the "patient's" fault and then said the investigation concluded it was appropriate treatment. They refused to provide information about their investigation, what research they used in their conclusion or who they interviews for their decision. I highly warn women to stay away from this hospital, and doctor in particular. read more

They need to revisit their HIPAA training or perhaps take the training for the first time.

My mom was admitted there. We ended up staying there for five days, waiting for her to pass away. The doctors, nurses and staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. They were constantly asking us if we were OK or if we needed anything. They talked to us, they listened, they prayed with us, and after things were over, they cried with us. We could not have asked for a better place for care or anything else. read more
