I took my son to a birthday party. They invited a clown to perform at the party. He gave the face painting, animal balloon before the show. My son got sword, bat and snake balloon from him. And I got a butterfly paint from him. My son had a blast during the clown show. I never saw him laughing so much in public. The show includes the jugglings and magic. We were entertained by both. Bonzo Crunch made my son's birthday special. He was able to give a socially distanced performance on our street, and he had a great lineup of magic tricks for our little aspiring magician/mime. He thoughtfully gave our son some extra attention to teach him about magic tricks. The six-year-old was in heaven, but I also noticed that the older kids in the neighborhood really got into it. He was great at communicating with us, being both easy to reach and very clear about timing and deliverables. It is obvious that he approaches his job with a great deal of dedication and professionalism. Best clown ever! Bonzo is thoughtful, kind and a great entertainer. He checks in beforehand to discuss his act, scheduling, and even sends amazing birthday cards to the kids (handwritten, no less) which got them SUPER excited for the show. He was punctual and even waited until all our guests had arrived to set up and perform. Needless to say, the kids were ROLLING with laughter (adults too) and he had them eating out of his hand the entire time. I was worried that a 45 minute show would be too long for our birthday bunch (7 4-6 year olds) but bonzo kept their attention and had us all wanting more. We celebrated my son's 4th birthday a few weeks ago and all the kids are still talking about Bonzo. It was a true joy to watch the kids laugh and enjoy themselves! After the show Bonzo made balloons for all the kids (and made sure to fix all of the balloons that "broke" before he left). I've worked with a lot of magicians, clowns, twisters, and face painters in Austin. Bonzo is one of the three people I suggest to people when they ask for a recommendation. He's very organized (a rarity in that world), professional, on the ball, and punctual. You may say "Aren't those things that all performers are?" and the sad truth is no. If you haven't had a chance to see him, I truly suggest it. Also, if your kids are a little wary of clowns because of full on clown make-up/wig, he doesn't do that style which is great for easing kids into a show that aren't sure. read more

Bonzo Crunch is enthusiastic about children and about entertaining them in such a way that they remember him with fondness. He has entertained at our school's major functions and is always invited back because of his love of children and professionalism. He has had to deal with the 'adults' who don't like clowns and those who want to be entertained when, really, it's about the kids. He has said that some adults will be talking all the way through his performances in small spaces and it's an appalling disruption and lessens the value of the entertainment. The kids adore him and he gets all kinds of accolades for what he does. He came from the Ringling Brothers and went to the clown college - and teaches at times (unlike other clowns in town) and still learns new stuff and practices constantly - and you can tell that his act is always first class. read more

Bonzo Crunch performed at our home for my son's 6th birthday. He was fabulous and a true professional. He maintained in contact prior to the event with a confirmation phone call and sending a special card to the birthday boy. He was alway easy to reach and returned phone calls promptly. The show he described is exactly what we received, and more. His show runs around the same price as what you would pay for other performers, but it's really a top notch performance. It's obvious that this is his profession, rather than a hobby. You also pay one set price and don't have to worry about an exact head count. A really cute souvenir shirt is available to purchase for the birthday child. The show included juggling, magic, balloon animals, and a fun relay race. He is very quick witted and his humor appeals to both children and adults. There wasn't a dull moment. I appreciate that he does a great job managing the audience. If a kid starts to wander off or get too chatty he's able to redirect them and maintain control of the room. The one thing I'd like to emphasize is that Bonzo Crunch is hilarious and never breaks character. We were laughing the entire time. Although you see his talent in the magic and juggling, his shining personality is the real star of the show. read more

I work at a summer camp where Bonzo Crunch has been performing at weekly for years, and every show I don't know who's enjoying it more, the kids or the staff that works there. Even if those that have seen his show before laugh and have fun, sometimes even more than the first time--I speak from experience. The only thing I don't like about his show, is that very often I don't get to see it, since everyone else wants to watch it too, and not everyone can be gone watching the show. I wouldn't be intimidated by the thought of a "scary clown" either, Bonzo Crunch really becomes like a real person to children, and I've seen kids who were scared of clowns learn to love them with Bonzo Crunch's help. read more

I had Bonzo for my daughters seventh birthday party and it was a wonderful experience for both parents and the kids. Too often the clowns I see at parties are little more than people who mean well but have little skills beyond balloon animals. Bonzo is a real clown with an act that is clever and engaging for the whole audience. During the time with us he juggled pizzas, danced, sang, and engaged all the kids in a grand time. My daughter couldn't have been more happy. Nor could I. Before the show, Bonzo sent her a card saying how excited he was to be playing her party and after the show he sent a card saying how much fun he had. Both of these cards are posted on her wall and she giggles every time she sees them. I cannot recommend Bonzo too much, You get your money's worth and so much more.
