What a gem of a shop . Well, today was similar - quite happy browsing for hours . Between my wife and I we left with no fewer than ten tomes . And I had to restrain myself from carting out more . If you didn't know better, you might think everything on the shelves is actually new! Great location, convenient in they little downtown area to walk and pop in other places for lunch/shopping. The prices are still a little higher than is reasonable in my mind, but you have to expect that coming to a Barnes & Noble. They did have a few sales here when I came, though, and one was on some collector Harry Potter books which I couldn't resist. This is a great addition to the University Town Center area.

It seems small, but it has a good layout with a decent selection for all age groups I am shopping for. I grew up on the stores that had stages in the kid space, multiple lounge areas to "test out" the book, and no WiFi so students couldn't use the the tables in the cafe for hours at a time. With this set up, unfortunately, it isn't as inviting as they used to be. Never had a bad trip, but never wanted to take my time perusing the shelves. Was not given a solution to purchase online or any other directive just that they can not do it at this location. Would have rather put the books back than process transactions. Just the week prior I was able to do a purchase with a different Barnes and Noble with the same stipend card. Management at other location was pleasant and customer service centered while the Sarasota location and its management and staff did nothing to try to be helpful. Being a Barnes and Noble customer and member holder; I was extremely disappointed with the lack of service and attention and repeat customer. Won't be using this location even though it's more convenient than other locations.

When you enter the Selby public library you will see a room that sells used books. The have a…read moredecent collection of fiction and non fiction and a broad range of subject matter. Books are well priced and the proceeds go to supporting the library. I think it's a great idea and always love to check in and see what they have. There's a library parking lot you can use when using the library.
