Reminds me of Media Play and Barnes and Nobles. Nice selection of bargain books and kids book.

Cute, clean store. It's nice to find a place to purchase a used book with little wear. I found the…read moreemployees to be very helpful and kind. Keeping in mind it is a used store so the selection can be limited, I thought they had many books and authors to choose from. They also carry games, puzzles, CDs and records.

My review is as a Seller but as you have to wait while they make you and offer, I've browsed the…read moreinventory and seen the prices. All in all it is the same problem that has ruined "thrifting." Cheaper than new - obviously. But a new book at $12.99 is selling for like $8.99. Better to shop goodwill bins as books are some of the last affordable things at thrift stores. As a seller I took $70 for a collection of about 200 quality dvds. sold individually on eBay or Amazon if I had the time probably $500-1000. Same with the books. I have gotten $50 for a case of 100/150 best selling hardbacks. You never know as one time I brought in quality mint condition coffee table books - my offer for the lot of 50... $2. So I don't know what the deal is but the worst thing is they don't return your books. Some they take and will throw away or donate because the don't want to offend. I wish I had the option to take the books they knew they were gonna trash. All in all, they are only game in town u nless you want to do this full time. And I see them taking advantage. But that's our America. Read they are private family owned. Interesting.

We've been here before and that's the reason we've returned. Yes, you probably could find almost…read moreany book on the Internet and order it to be delivered to you, but what if you really weren't sure what you were looking for? You need to find a small, curated, family friendly book store. Well for us it's Galena Book & Paper. I'm a true history buff and my partner is into fiction, opposites in the same place. We both love to browse the selection, read some, then make some choices. Jason, the clerk, welcomed us as we entered and asked if there was anything we we specifically looking for. We smiled and told him we're browsers who've been here before and we're searching for some special reads. After about 45 minutes of browsing we found our choices for this trip. Six books and two note cards(plantable seeds inside) for less than $150. They are always welcoming and have a great variety in all categories. So happy they are in Galena. Thanks for all you provide for the greater community. Us too.

Charming independent bookstore, compact but compelling. They seem to specialize in self-help/modern…read morephilosophy/social issues type of titles, but there is plenty of fiction, history, local interest, and any other genre that you would expect. They sell beautiful posters at extremely reasonable prices as well as framing kits for them. There are offbeat greeting cards and writing supplies too. And quaint jigsaw puzzles! Back in the children's area there is a small shelf of graphic novels. However, some of these titles are definitely not for kids, e.g. The Road and 1984. Yikes!
