Asked a girl placing books on the shelves as to the location of the audiobook section. After being directed, I did not find any audio books. I asked the checkout girl and she responded that they have none. I informed her of what the girl at the shelf told me and then she said that, they had some but they are scattered around the store. Advertised hours were close at 8 PM. My son and my husband were walking up to the door at 7:50 (not our favorite thing to do, but they knew exactly what they wanted and would have been in and out in five minutes). An employer saw them walking up ten minutes before closing and ran over to lock the door on them. All but made eye contact with my 11 year old son while locking the door. He wanted to buy the second book in the Hunger Games series to take with him on vacation because he just finished the first book and is hooked. He's very upset, and we live in a town where there aren't many places to buy books besides Books a Million or Walmart. Needless to say we will be buying our books from Amazon from now on. read more

Very impressed by this store. Just went in to walk around and actually dropped a hundred bucks in some cool stuff. Very big store with lots of variety. Lots of different categories from books to music to toys and games. If you want it they probably have it. read more

This place sucks wanted to try and find a book for my wife went straight to the front counter and asked for help they told me where I could find the book or should I say the area I asked can't you show me so they walked me to the aisle and said it should be down on the end somewhere or you can look instead of actually helping a customer out to go find the book so I ended up just walking out this place is a joke poor Customer Service don't bother wasting your time unless you want to hunt for everything yourself I don't have time for that read more

!!!DO NOT PAY WITH CREDIT/DEBIT CARD, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE!!! If you read nothing else of this review, please at least take note that if you pay with card they offer a "free" magazine subscription. Do not accept unless you *really* want those magazines!! They literally give your credit info to a third-party company and the subscription is not "free." My account was charged almost $4 UNAUTHORIZED which really isn't a lot, but for some people that can be the difference for dinner. There's also nothing more annoying/infuriating than logging in to your account and seeing random charges. The people on the phone ask confusing questions and try to get you to continue a subscription with a million different offers/questions! But that's another review for another time. I found this practice to be a little sharky, next time will definitely pay with cash! I want to support a local business as much as possible, but this was not cool! As for Books-A-Million itself...I love having a full bookstore nearby because my town does not have a public library. They had tons of new releases, fiction and nonfiction. My fiance spotted some gorgeous picture books, some of them at a very reasonable price. If you head to the back of the store, you will find a large amount of discounted books and cheap paperbacks starting at $3-4. I walked out with two hardcover brand-new books for $11! Customer service was really nice and cordial, except for the magazine thing but like I said, just pay cash and say no thank you! I'm removing a star from this review for the misleading practice at the register, they should at least warn people of possible fees. Other than that, the customer service rep was a sweetheart, books were well-stocked, place was clean and organized. Very casual atmosphere, not like a library where it's all hush-hush quiet. I love this book store!! They offer so much more than books now including a wide variety of Funko Pops, Harry Potter, Disney and other items related to pop culture. They also have used movies, music and books. The employees are helpful and kind. It's easy to spend an hour or two checking everything out. A very fun place to shop. read more
