One of them…read moredecided to go find a clerk to check us out, thinking maybe they didn't know we were at the register. When she found a clerk we were all greeted by an angry man (a middle aged, Caucasian male, with dreadlocks), who said that we needed to exercise some patience while the clerk used the restroom. As he rang us up he continued to reprimand & belittle us for our lack of patience & understanding, as there were only 2 employees working that day. By this time everyone in line was offended by his behavior but as they spoke up the man just continued his rant! By the time he was done checking us all out, there was still no sign of the missing employee that we should have waited for. I'm wondering if this type of customer service contributed to JoAnn Fabrics downfall?

This JoAnn fabric in Terre Haute doesn't seem to ever get new fabrics and the ones they have…read moreare....well....ugly. They just seem outdated, cheap quality and unappealing prints. The prices are pretty high too. Lace, trim, fringe section of the store is almost empty and have had the same thing for years. I believe there's only one or two beaded trims to choose from, and they have had those same one or two spools for years. Nothing new, and tons of empty slots on the shelves. Very poor selection. No quality quilting fabric. Almost no linen. Absolutely no denim (just thin fake denim "look" fabric). Maybe one spool of corduroy. No flannel that's not baby printed. No real rugged type fabrics, duck cloth, suedes, wools, etc. It's sad that its supposed to be a fabric store and less than 1/3 of the store is actually used for fabric. They really need to get a bigger, nicer, and more quality selection of fabrics. They could also stand to drop their prices quite a bit as it's not worth sewing anything when just the price of the fabric (even when its on sale) is more expensive than just buying something already made. The staff is typical of what you expect these days. I think my three stars is a bit generous.

There were no signs by the lights saying they were xmas and the young dark headed girl at the register was extremely rude. I purchased a xmas bag and they gave me a small slip of paper saying xmas was non refundable!! Would have been nice to have known that the day before!! I will probably not ever shop there again!! Very rude employees!!

If they don't have the party items you're looking for here, the only other place you're going to find what you're looking for is online. The selection here is HUGE. All merchandise is organized by category (Fiesta, 1950s, Luau, Sports, baby shower, bridal shower, party supplies, baking supplies, party favors, balloons, school pride, holiday, and of course HALLOWEEN accessories, costumes and décor.). Dean's has the best Halloween set-up from Indianapolis to Evansville, hands-down. The moment you walk in the door around Halloween, everything is decked out to the nine's. 4/5 because the selection is fabulous. Prices are higher than what you'll find online and I wouldn't necessary buy decorations, favors or costumes and accessories here unless I was in a bind/time crunch. An awesome place to browse if you've never been here before, but 99% of the time whatever is sold here you can purchase for much less. Can't say much about the customer service here, which means it isn't memorable. Unless you're shopping here during the month of October, staffing is sparse. Overall the store is clean and the property appears to be well maintained inside and out. Nice, big parking lot.

After pulling into a shared lot (a landscape design and build is next door), I entered the ranch style business with a central room and a couple smaller ones containing a wide variety of objects. There is a section for ladies' clothing, and lots of tables and cabinets loaded with items. In fact, even some of the shelves and cabinets are for sale too! I saw tableware, decorative pieces, items promoting Terre Haute, candles, and art pieces. The woman who was working was pleasant and asked if I was looking for anything in particular.
