Having been on the road upwards of 7 hours, my car needed a bath when I arrived in TC - bad! Although a little nervous about the # of favorable stars:reviews, I decided to give them a try after being reminded Boon Street had (has?) the reciprocal relationship with the place I once had my oil changed, Northwest Oil Express (who was also a great customer-service oriented company), and I'd already been to Boon Street. (Yeah. Groundhog day all over again, but I digress...) I was initially impressed with the rates: $7.00 for a basic car wash seemed very reasonable. I was next impressed exiting the tunnel seeing approximately a bazillion lads (or 6ish) clutching towels directing me towards them. (Can't lie, initial appearances also left me feeling a little as tho I were on a movie set and some portion of said lads were on work-release.) Everyone whom I encountered were very professional and most definitely struck me as hard working. Granted, I'm pretty sure it's reasonable to consider they were money (tip) motivated. But at the end-of-the-day, the representatives of Boon Street were friendly, professional, diligent employees and ain't nothin' wrong with being money-motivated! Recently had my minivan cleaned, it was pricey- $41. I figured at that price it would look great considering it took all of 6 minutes to clean. They washed all matts in the van- looked great. Did not run a vacuum on any of the under parts- which needed a good vacuum regardless of matts protection. They didn't wipe down any of the dash or interior. They did do a great job on the windows but man for the price to have interior done I sure wish it had been more thorough of an interior job. We have had all of our vehicles detailed by same company and they were amazing totally different experience. read more

Poor job, left my car a filthy mess and when I pointed it out instead of being responsible the guy flipped out, got physically threatening and threatened to call the cops... weird!!! Last time I got a car wash there, blue thread got lodged between by car and headlight. The guy drying tried to pull it out, but was unable and they didn't tell me about it. I found out when I got home my headlight was loose. Today, I witnessed a dryer swearing at a 90 year old man as he drove away. I rolled down my window and told him to knock it off, his quote "I don't give a F***" while drying another customers car. I do not recommend anyone supporting this business with that behavior, especially toward a war veteran as the elderly man's car clearly had that on the bumper. 5 F bombs and the worker acted like the owner the way he shouted, "my f****ing customers". read more

Car wash supposedly complete. Pointed out spots still on windshield. Technician said that was sap and doesn't come off. Told technician that previous time a guy subbing from the detail shop got it off. Technician tried to distract by criticizing me for having the emergency brake on when I got out of the car for them to drive my car through the wash. Technician came back with something to try on window. As I was pointing out other spots he told me to stay where I was while he did his job. I told him to get his manager. he said he was the manager. I told me to get the owner. He said he was not there and that I should get off his property or he would call that police. I should also never come back. I told him to go ahead and call the police. he walked off. It is a guarantee that I will not be back to this car wash. read more

Oh my gosh. HORRIBLE! First of all, you pay $20 for an interior "clean" that took a few guys 5 minutes. My jaw dropped when I saw the inside of my car after, and not in a good way. There was sand/dirt left all under the mats, and sand and hair on my leather seats. I wasn't expecting perfection, but I truly can't believe how bad the service was. Don't waste your money, and go to Green Mitt on US 31 where you pay $10 for a wash and free vacuum to use yourself and a free washing station for your mats. I wish I had pictures to show just how bad this service was. read more

Very disappointed. I called to get a detail/wash on my Trailblazer. First off, no one answers the phone and when you choose the opt.2 for detail you get nothing, choose opt.1 you have to leave a message, so I just went there and talked to Ryan. He looked at my car and said the seats look ok, however the floor carpet only by the driver seat (where you step in?) will take some time so it will be $150 (The"Ulitmate Interior" on their website starts at $100). Ok, understandable, I guess). He said it would only take an hour and could do it right then, which I couldn't do right then, but then I asked him how would that work for shampooed carpet to be dry. He suggested I can put in my garage with windows open. I had an 8am appt and they would call when ready. I never got a call that it was ready and when I picked it up (at about 1:15pm), Ryan said he was just going to call me as they wanted to make sure the carpets/seats were dry enough, huh. The kicker is the guy that did the "detail" said he tried really hard to get the "stain" out of my driver seat (I didn't even know I had) and I think he was trying to "clean" a few little (cloth seat) cigarette burns. The carpet floor mats are now hanging on my bath tub dripping with dirty water. And I have a big fan blowing on the driver's seat so it can be driven tomorrow without getting a wet ass. And I now have the fan blowing in the back as that is still very wet. Wondering if this will cause issues? read more

I don't really know of other car washes in town that also clean the interior of your car. For $15, you get a decent exterior wash and a nice wipe down of the interior windows and dashboard area. I specifically asked them to clean the back hatch area of my SUV and they did a good job, wiped down the whole back area and vacuumed it up as well. They offer coupon deals through the Up North Live Deals web site. (For $35, you get 5 washes. That's $7 per wash for those that need help with the math) Fast...fast...fast service. Don't forget to tip, the tip jar is on the counter inside, I almost couldn't find it! read more

Love this place! Always friendly and going the extra mile! The staff is great and the service is never lacking, I've been going there for years and love the convenience. Within minutes my car is clean - inside and out. Last time I was in, it was steadily busy, yet the guy working there told me because he appreciate me always being so patient - he had taken the extra time to get back underneath my 3rd row seating and do a little extra detailing for me. Wow; what a joke this place is. $24.50 for the package I chose. First off the pricing is confusing on the right side you have two interior options and on the left side do you have for exterior options nowhere does it say you combine the two prices or whatever. Secondly, the bathroom was pretty nasty. Figured it would be at least 10-15 minutes maybe 20 so I thought I could use the bathroom real quick while they wash the car. when I came out the car was done which was great but pretty unusual considering I paid for an upgraded package that should've taken a little bit more time. The car was just sitting there and I asked one of the associates where do they do the vacuuming and interior he said they pull off to the side and do that service. So since my car was off to the side I guess my car was done, kid came up to me and asked me if this was my car I said yes he said I was good to go. The tire dressing was dripping off the tires on to the wheels, water was still dripping off the rear spoiler, side mirrors and handles. I opened the car and the floor mats were on the rear seat. The car didn't seem to be vacuumed because there is still pet hair in the back seats. The Windows seemed to be done but the car is is dusty inside as it was when I dropped it off. I'm new to town from Chicago so the price wasn't too bad but being a person that is in a car club I was hoping that my money would go a little bit further for hand wash and that I would have a place to go to weekly for good washes seeing as Travers City has very few options outside of detailing. Guess not. I will say that the one dude with a ponytail was very helpful explaining the complicated pricing but unfortunately I will not be back to this subpar carwash. read more

After work today I decided to swing by and have my car washed. The prices here are ridiculous. $17.50 to clean my car inside and out (and that's the cheapest price)? Coming from Chicago where I paid half of that blows my mind. I asked them to pay special attention to my windows because my dog is a drooler and last time they washed my car there was weird black gunk all over the top of the window (yes, I'm stupid enough to return...) I waited inside and when my car was finished no one told me, they just left it running at the end of the drive, with the door open. Not OK. The first thing I did was check the windows, slobber and gunk still intact. UGH. As I stood there wondering where the employees were who just left my car, I noticed they were back inside, I asked if they could please take care of the windows. After a bit of a huff, they cleaned it. While I waited I noticed there were some strange smudges on the door. I rubbed it with my finger and it came off. I looked my car over and saw spots all over. I, like previous Yelper, EH, grabbed a towel and started cleaning it up myself. The employee who took care of the windows was gone and there I was at the end of the driveway, in my work clothes, cleaning my own car! WHAT?! I would have assumed that someone might have come and stopped me or at least offered a hand. NOPE! Dust all over the dashboard, dirt on the seats and floor, streaks on the windows... Fuming, I walked back inside where the employees were all standing around apparently taking joy in watching me do their job. I asked who the manager was and they all laughed and pointed at each other. The one guy said, "I don't know why you have a problem, no one else has a problem with our work. Maybe you should get a wax." (because apparently spending more money will make them work harder??) He then said, "Maybe you shouldn't park under trees and your car will be easier to clean." (Because they can only clean, clean cars?? And I don't park under a tree, fyi.) He then told me there were other car washes in town and I should go to them. Why Yes, I think I will. I then asked who the owner was. The reply? "I don't know." You don't know who your boss is?? "Uh, Scott." Does Scott have a last name? "I don't know." Does someone else know? "Let me go see." I finally got a last name and the alleged names of the two employees. The real kicker? After dealing with the guys inside, I went back outside and noticed scratches on my car. Moral of the story, they can't clean cars, inside or out, they're rude, and they just might damage your car. AWESOME. read more

I've been getting my cars cleaned at Boone St for several years and have always been very pleased with the results. Whether it's just the quick wash, the complete service, or anything in between, my car always looks great. You can pay a basic price or opt for more - their menu lets you pay for what you want. Lastly, the service is efficient and very friendly. These guys really want their customers to be satisfied. I was in a few weeks ago getting my car washed before a trip we were taking. I called to see if I could use an expired coupon ($7off) and I could. I asked what full price was $27 for a car wash and tipped $10 right away as I was so pleased to use the coupon and get my car a solid inside outside clean before heading on the road. When I checked the car after it was "done" the outside was fine but wasn't cleaned at all where the doors shut- which I was fine with but the inside looked barely touched. I have leather seats and plastic floor mats so it makes everything even easier to wipe up. I went in because I didn't expect perfection but did expect a little something more for the $30 I spent. The girl came out to look at it again she asked what the problem was. I told her there was sand still in the car and I could see viable dirt on the console like it hadn't been touched. She wipes one set of cup holders out and told me that sand could only be gotten out with a detail which was $150. I have hard plastic and leather in my car so I'm unsure why sand was impossible to remove but I'm not one to complain a ton so I left. I took pictures less than 30 minutes later (once I had parked) and noticed they didn't touch anything but the floor mats and dash and windows. I emailed them with the pictures and got a response about 5 days later saying they would gladly re-wash it and to let them know when I could come in. I responded with a time and got nothing back. I responded again asking if the offer still stood and nothing. It's a fine place for a cheap car wash but even for a cheap car was other places are better. For $30 I do expect a little more and will likely not be going back. I was upset I spent so much for a car wash that was quick and poorly done. read more

I went to this establishment today based on the reviews. The reviews are a little dated but took my chances. I paid 39.99 for the Boone Special which they state gives you the extra clean in the interior. It was such a mediocre job I actually stood there and gave my car a further clean. I brought it to the attention of the manager who came out and looked at my car. I had to show him the water spots that I could wipe off with my finger. He was claiming they needed acid. He reluctantly agreed and asked someone to clean the hood and walked away. I then found sand on my carpet, dust on the door panels, dirty wheels, smudges and bugs on the windows, obviously it wasn't cleaned properly. Perhaps for 15 bucks I would overlook but 40 come on, make an effort and stand by your claim. I went back to the manager who came back out to look at my car. He said "we vacuumed it but there will always be sand in the carpet unless we shampoo it and we can only spend so much time on each car". Seriously, since when does shampoo absorb sand, why argue about it, just vacuum it again and clean it properly as your advertisement claims. Perhaps their 15 dollar wash is ok anything above that, forget it and the customer service well there is a lot to be desired. read more

Probably the worst car wash I've ever been to. Ever. Brand new headlight lens' two weeks ago completely scratched and look worse than before I replaced them. Swirl marks and scratches all over in the paint. Dust still on the dash board, in vents, dirt still on my PLASTIC floor mats which at any other place would be sprayed off or vacuumed. One guy notice some spilled flour in my carpet and told the guy vacuuming "fuck it he needs his carpets shampooed" very loud and clear. Leave your car running and open at the end of the drive. Smudgy Windows. Dust still on mirrors, rims, tires, etc. they don't clean out their brushes EVER and use the same soap water for every damn car so all that dirt and debris just ruins your paint finish. Worst $40 I have ever spent. Came out looking worse all around than it did before going in. I highly recommend never going here. The cheap $5 wash down the road did a much much better job. read more
