We stopped there to have lunch. When the Hostess realized we had a service dog with us we were not allowed to eat in the main area of the dining room. She wanted is to sit away from the other diners. Which would have been fine but the tables offered only sat two people. And didn't accommodate us anyway. Having a disability does not make you a second class citizen. Treating the disabled differently makes you a second class establishment. read more

New York Italian restaurant in Mount Airy? We were so surprised how friendly the staff was at first, and then the food came out. It was delicious!!! The 4 of us ordered a little of everything: Rice balls, pierogies, Cheesestake sandwich, Natahan's hot dog, flatbread pizza, and a hot ham and cheese sandwich. All were exceptional and you could tell they were made with love and not just something whipped up for the masses. The prices are very reasonable. During the "off" season, there are few places to eat around Main Street Mt Airy. We decided on Boo's Kitchen. The reviews were hit or miss on Yelp, but we really didn't want to drive somewhere. This was a short walk from our stay. We were sat down right away. The server took our drink orders and after a few minutes returned with our beverages and took our orders. I had the chicken Parmesan over spaghetti and she had the Penne Vodka. The wait was fairly short for our food. Both plates looked really good. The penne vodka pasta was very tasty. The chicken Parmesan was delicious and cooked just right. The spaghetti was simple tomato sauce, but went well with the chicken. Both plates had plenty of food. I decided to try the pistachio cheesecake. The waitress raved about it. She definitely didn't undersell this decadent and delicious dessert. Absolutely amazing! We were headed to another business downtown and decided to try this restaurant. It's located on Main Street so although getting a parking space in front is not likely, there are a couple of other free parking options close by. Fortunately, we only had to circle back around only once to get a spot close by. The cafe offers both American and Italian options. I ordered the meatball sub and my husband ordered the lasagna and meatballs, which came with a side salad. When we arrived shortly after 1p, there were only a couple of other tables with customers. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our waitress was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the various dishes and we tried one of her suggestions. The restaurant has more of a cafe feel. At the entrance is a display case filled with great looking desserts. The meatballs were huge and tasted really good. I'm pretty picky about marinara sauce because I think it's hard to find one as good as my own recipe made with all natural ingredients and home grown organic tomatoes; however, we both thought their sauce was good and tasted home made. It seemed a little pricier than I would expect from a cafe but I don't mind paying a little more for quality food. I'm excited to return to try their pizza. read more

We had a plain cheese pizza. When I asked the waitress a simple question -- I could tell she didn't take kindly to. When our pizza came out with paper plates and 1 knife for two elderly ladies to share, I knew we were in trouble. Service quickly deteriorated after our exchange. Everyone else was served on regular plateware even other pizza customers. They charge extra for refills which I have NEVER seen in any other restaurant. Our pizza was so-so. Can't speak for the pasta dishes, salads or sandwiches. Won't be back. I have been in better authentic Italian restaurants, so I will take my business there. read more

This restaurant was newly opened, per the owner around 45 days when we visited. There wasn't a lot of people here but it was later in the day and the area winds down early. The larger open area inside has plenty of seating and we were served by a young local server who was cute and friendly. We decided on the antipasto plate for four and others had the eggplant parmesan sandwich and a Philly cheesesteak. The food was all pretty good. I think since most of the places are geared around the Mayberry theme if you're not into that and want some good food this is the place to go. read more

A brand new place just opened in mount airy off the tourist beaten path. Owned by an Italian American who is very proud of his place which is nice to see. He comes by the tables and talks to customers. His eggplant parmesan sandwich my son ordered and I tasted was absolutely comforting and delicious. Perfect balance of bread, parmesan and Italian red sauce with cheese. The basket of fries was a little small and lifeless though. The antipasto platter for 4 was very good and definitely enough for the 3 of us. I tried his cannoli which he said he makes cream from scratch and a must try ..and I admit it was pretty good and similar to the Italian cannolis I've had growing up. Ya, as an Italian American myself, I can recommend this place, just stick to the Italian stuff and don't bother with the fries. Did not serve any bread with meal. Waitress too focused on 7:30 which is when she was " out of there". My girlfriend and I went on a date night. Our server was nice! Unfortunately the food and environment was not. From the online pictures I expected a nice date night restaurant and unfortunately this was not it. First of all- Fox News was playing on the TV. I feel like no Italian restaurant should be playing the news. We ordered mozzarella sticks (which tasted like the freezer), a very small pizza which also seemed like a precooked pizza you reheat, and chicken parm (which was the best thing we ordered but that's not saying much) everything tasted like the fridge or like something you would get in a theme park. It was $40 for those three items and a drink, which is fine, but SUPER overpriced for the quality of food. As we waited for our food, I read through the reviews on the Yelp website regarding boo's restaurant and one of the reviews I saw, indicated that the spaghetti sauce was out of a jar, which is always concerning but the price for what I had ordered the chicken Parmesan was extremely reasonable at $12.99 I was at least hopeful when I read that the restaurant had just opened up in January 2023 and the owners were Italian Americans from New York. as we waited for our food. The ownercame over and spoke to us and asked us how our day was going, he could not have been more gracious. when our food arrived, I immediately saw that the spaghetti sauce was definitely homemade, made from scratch and the review that I had read did not match my experience. my wife and friend ordered pizzas, and both of them dug in to their 7 inch pie and though they didn't share it with me. I'm assuming it was delicious because nothing was left for me to try. my food. The chicken Parmesan was excellent two pieces of crispy chicken under a layer of wonderful Sunday gravy and a sweet roll. Overall, this restaurant is definitely worth a try. The service is fantastic. It's a family oriented business with granddaughter and grandson, helping to clean the tables. It was one of the best experiences we had as we were visited Mount Airy. read more

Real Italian! My husband and I had dinner here tonight and it was delicious. My husband had the Eggplant Parmesan over Spaghetti and loved it. He said so many times the eggplant is too mushy or too thick but this was homemade and just right! I had the Cheese Steak Sandwich. It was hot, the perfect amount of cheese and the meat was generous and tasty. The best I've had in a very long time. We shared a Tiramisu and it was exceptional. And if you are looking for a great cup of coffee, they keep it fresh. The food and service was great. However the food was "OKAY"...the fries were very crispy which was great, but the temperature was very "room"...our appetizer was the same way. While the space is nice and open, the food just was not impressive at all.
