The staff are so attentive and has the best manners you can imagine. They keep asking you what else you want to try before you buy unlike other stores where they wish you'd stop trying their samples. Chocolate quality is arguably one of the best and the presentation is down to the finest details. Not only do you get a frozen gel pack with the chocolate to keep it fresh and cool, once you open the pack you get a small plastic knife to serve. Amazing | Devine | Unique

The House of Chocolates has been here as long as I remember - and I grew up in the Eastern Suburbs. It still has an old-fashioned sweet shop kind of feel, I always expect some jolly fat man to come out from the back proffering a tray of freshly made chocolate treats*. (*Note: This has never happened.) We used to come here sometimes after a day at the beach for little hand-made chocolate penguins for a treat, so I have happy memories associated with this place. Add some choc endorphins to that and this is my Happy Place. The chocolates are hand-crafted by Sydney chocolatiers but they also have a small number of imported sweets. My favourites: chilli and salted chocs, and of course the Happy Place penguins.

This old fashioned sweet store will conjure up memories of what life was like when you were a kid. There is so much variety and choice from local Aussie treats to fancy chocolaty imports. They have lollie jars, and sugary options are well as finely finessed hand made goodies. Prices start from $1 and could easy go into the hundreds depending what type of chocolate addict you are. I find this a fun place to try a bit of chocolate experimentation. Why not treat your taste buds to something new by purchasing a new flavour. It's a fun place to bring kids and kids at heart... I would suggest stopping in just to browse, but if you can leave without purchasing something than you have a lot more will power than I do...

Cute little place though, with dirty menus and a water filter that you could serve yourself. They do have high chairs but the bathrooms are inside the shopping centre. I got a golden gaytime bomb and my husband got a mars bar shake. Our shakes were great but the donut on mine was dry and heavy. Our son really enjoyed the wafers with a little of the toppings on them. The shop wasn't fully stocked and it was NYE so not sure how many deliveries would be coming over the next few days. They were out of the salted caramel, that was the shake my husband wanted originally. I overheard them telling a lady that they were out of apple juice but could make up fresh juice, you get served these massive shakes with no serviettes or spoons to help you out and their eftpos machine wasn't working. Sometimes it's the little things that make all the difference.

Everything from Cabernet, cherry, mango, passion fruit etc was of course clean but very flavorful and left a smile on my face after every bite. Everyone was so nice there and listened to the foreign American go on and on how nothing back in the states comes close! I'm gonna be a regular when I finally move and places like this help me count the days!
