There are only 2 Stride Rites left on LI - Sayville and Selden so we made the drive from Farmingdale on a Saturday afternoon to get my daughter's shoes. Cathy greeted us and quickly assisted us with help. I voiced to her that it was our first shopping experience for shoes and she measured my daughter's feet to ensure proper fitting. She was kind, patient and worked with my daughter as she just woke up from her nap and was very unsure of the pantyhose and new shoes. She let he pick out which one she wanted to try and let us take our time as she practiced walking in the store. The shoes are definitely worth the price! I am so glad I went to the store rather than buying it online. It is super crucial to make sure that my daughter has a great supportive shoe when starting out to walk. Highly recommend this store! If I had one negative, it's that this store seems somehow smaller than others I've been to. As she was trying on, the owner of the store steps out from the back and in a nasty tone was like I thought we decided on the other pair. I also noticed her whispering to the sales girl in reference to my daughter. I could tell she was annoyed with us. I didn't understand the attitude. We we're keeping the shoes. It was just an exchange for another pair. As a customer, we have the right to be satisfied and ultimately we have the final decision in our purchase. My daughter was anxious prior to going to the store because she was afraid this was reaction she was going to get and this woman's didn't help in the least.
