I've also known the owner for years - she is a kind, respectable person who truly cares about her customers. However, over the past year or two, I've noticed a decline in customer service. There are a few sales associates whose approach often makes shopping uncomfortable. They seem eager to help younger women or those who fit the mold of a certain aesthetic, but if you don't, the experience changes. Instead of showing flattering pieces that could accentuate your positives, they tend to pull oversized items - with more of an appeasing "let's cover you up" attitude rather than talking to you positively about what could look good on you. Even when I share my preferences and typical size, I'm often presented with clothing that feels mismatched to what I've expressed I like. At this point, it feels less like a mistake and more like inexperience or a lack of understanding of how to style different body types. Additionally, hiring only sales staff who look and act "trendy" misses the mark when it comes to connecting with the broader demographic of women who should be embraced and celebrated as valued customers. The girl said "WE ONLY GIVE STORE CREDIT" I was completely unaware of this policy as the young girl behind the desk never told me or said, try it on because we do not accept returns. I never returned anything there and asked if she could please call her boss since it was only an hour or so before when I purchased it. My total was almost $600.00 so I did not feel like a store credit. I waited for the owner to reply for over a half hour while I was just standing in the store. Finally, another manager called the store and said no that is our policy we can not give her money back. I called the Southampton store to ask for the manager they took my name and number. Long story short no one called me ever. I winded up exchanging it for something smaller in price and have a gift card for the difference. NO ONE EVER TOLD ME there was a small sign I noticed when I was bringing it back, but it was NOT NEAR THE REGISTER and it was probably the size of a postcard. I am so disgusted with this place, it is really bad PR to act like you can care less when so many businesses go out of business these days. OH, AND FYI you can find all the line labels, and if you go straight to the website you usually get a coupon of up to 20% off for signing up to the website. I find it completely odd that an owner would not want to make sure a customer is happy. I was never told this honestly. If I had known this I would have a least tried on in the store before I lost $600.00. The best part about coming into this store is the staff, they are always kind, courteous, trying to do whatever they can to make their customers happy. Their recent collections are trying to aim for younger clients (probably 30s), it's always nice to see what they have wether you intend on buying or not. Definitely a good place to shop for your working mom or classy grandmother! Their compassion fund donates 100% of its proceeds to women in need and twice a year they allow customers to bring in gently worn, clean clothing to donate to women in need.
