Barbi found that wearing thigh high boots, from Pleaser, was getting people far too excited and not always resulting in the best outcome, so for a year there was a "Boot Ban" which was sad for me, but meant lots of extra 8 inch high heel shoes in our lives which is always great. Of course this is not that, and of course they don't sell those kinds of boots here (but they should). What they do sell are perhaps the largest array of Texas and Cowboy Style and Cowgirl too, boots, that you'll find anywhere in Greater Houston, probably anywhere in Texas. If prices or service matched the amazing selection, they might get that 5th star, but neither prices nor service are bad enough to go below 4, they're just a bit hit or miss. I do think it's a quintessentially Texas experience, and as you can see from the photo, Barbi absolutely loves it here. read more

I usually have to order boots cause they never seem to have what I like in my size (same for my son) and we don't wear crazy sizes! I do like the boot selection most of the time and my sister always seems to find something, but we had to order my adult nieces' boots also.... They did recently rearrange the store and I'm not a fan. It's so crowded in there and you can't find what you want. And if you prefer a top that is not skin tight or a roomier size, this is not the place for you. I wear a XXL shirt because I do not want it so tight I'm working about gaps etc, but they maybe have 1 or 2 in the entire store. And forget about finding a cute Western dress if you want it knee length and not skin tight. If you're a size 10 or less, this is your site for sure! 12-14 maybe and over that, not a great chance of finding anything. read more

Went in to find my daughter a pair of boots. WOW! They had an incredible selection of boots in every style and color imaginable, but were apologized for selection saying it was less then what they usually had since it was AFTER the Houston rodeo. What? I'm impressed. They had great pricing, lots of boots in sales as well as higher end boots to accommodate every budget, high or low. Very nice young lady helped my daughter (14) find just what she wanted. They also gave us a $15 coupon to use within two weeks for a return visit. I have been to a few Boot Barns in my days but this one here in Katy is by far the best. I can't say enough about the staff, especially sweet little Grace. Her and Brennan handled me my needs and due to a ship to store glitch on my order, Grace carried the ordering on into the next stay and helped make sure the boots were delivered to me. She is top notch! Scott, Lisa and Chris as well. All great examples of what customer service is supposed to be like. Their inventory is above and beyond as well. Customer for life here. Have you ever gone to an establishment and immediately felt as if you aren't wanted there? Well that's exactly how I felt when I visited this particular location. Since I've been wearing the same get-up to the rodeo for the last few years, I felt the need to go ahead and start off my 2020 Rodeo season with a fresh set of threads. I was planning on revamping everything from head to toe. Hat, shirt, belt and boots.....the works! Again, that was the PLAN. STRIKE ONE: The Hat Going in, I already knew that I specifically wanted a Cody James Brand Cowboy hat. So I proceed to the rack where all the hats are located and started looking for one that might catch my eye. As I'm wondering aimlessly through a huge stack of hats, an attendant (an older gentleman) just walks by me at least 3-4 times without asking me if I needed assistance. Then about a minute later, 4 busty blondes come in looking for hats and the older guy high tails it over to them and IMMEDIATELY offers to help them find the hats they were looking for. I was standing there completely flabbergasted at what just occurred. I simply just walked over to the belt rack and tried to laugh it off. STRIKE TWO: The Belt Again, I already knew the particular brands that I wanted going in. So I knew that I wanted a new Justin belt. As I sifted through what was probably a hundred belts, I didn't see any that were my size. So this time, I tried blatantly flagging down help. This time I was able to get the attention of a younger guy. He looked no older than maybe 22 or 23 years old. I ask him, "Excuse me, do you know if you have any more of these Justin belts in size 30"? He looks at me and says "If you don't see it up there then we probably don't have it". Keep in mind that he never stopped walking to wherever he was going when he said this. He kept his stride the entire time. He never stopped and was clearly not interested in helping me. His manager (an older lady) comes by and I ask her the same thing. She tells me that she's going to go check the back area to see if they had any in stock. "I'll be right back. Let me check", she said. I waited and waited. She never came back. More egg on my face. Yolks on me folks. STRIKE THREE: The Shirt At this point I'm pretty much checked out. I'm saying to myself that I might as well go and look at the shirts while I'm in here. All I wanted was a plaid long sleeve Wrangler shirt but I was pretty sure I wasn't going to spend my money here at this point. Again, I'm looking and looking and looking through several shirts. Yet another employee is coming in my direction. This time she looks me directly in the eye. I was thinking this was it. She's going to offer me help without me having to ask. NOPE. Walked right by me. That's when I pulled the ripcord and ejected from this trip to Boot Barn because it was going down in flames. CONCLUSION I didn't even bother to go look at the boots. I knew that would have been a complete waste of time. Every person working that day avoided me as if I had the Coronavirus. I started to wonder if I had "COVID-19 patient" pinned on my back or something. They stayed as far away from me as possible the entire time I was there. This was so disappointing to me because I really wanted to buy everything I came in there for. I desperately need new rodeo gear. But the complete disregard for my business soured my entire experience. I'm sorry but I can't spend my money in places where I'm not wanted, and it was painfully obvious here. read more

I picked up an amazing pair of Lucchese's for literally a couple hundred dollars less than what I would've paid somewhere else. And the guy behind the counter talked about the warranty and how to condition the boots... 20 years and probably 20 sets of boots and this is where I learned about a boot warranty... who knew?! read more

Wow rude! And an assistant manager at that! Spent over an hour in the store looking for a pair of boots with my daughter and not one person offered to help us. Found what we needed on our own. Went to pay for them and stood at the register for a solid minute, right in front of the assistant manager, before she even acknowledged us. She asked if we had rewards, I said yes, and then she didn't even apply my rewards without having to prod her about them again. I then asked for the box for the several hundred dollar pair of boots we were buying and she tried to tell me I had to buy one and that they throw all the boxes that the boots come in away. I bought a jacket for my son online - ship to store. That all worked well, except that the jacket did not match the one I ordered. The Asst. Manager Scott quickly tried to help me out. He looked to see if the jacket I ordered was in the store. Since it wasn't, he helped me find another jacket that I liked. He was very helpful and very apologetic even though the mistake was not on him at all. I would give their customer relations an A+. As a boot virgin how would I know that this was not a good experience. I had called and asked if they carried women's Corral, they did, only one size 6, but the best part is they had a little girl's boot size 4.5 and it fit perfectly but who can just shop for only one pair of boots. Willie Nelson is going to see me in some awesome Lucchese boots, the place had poor selection for small sizes. Guess I will have to be buried in these boots, pricey at best, Neiman Marcus sounds better than Boot Barn. Staff helpful, the tiny benches are not accommodating to more than two butts, that is two normal size butts and when you are trying to get boots on or off you need some wiggle room. I had to ask for boot boxes and of course the check out person acted like that was odd, the cost of the boots should include the boxes, I did not ask for boot covers which most shoes that cost this much come with shoe covers. They did say I could bring the boots back as long as they were worn only on carpet. Sad they had no sales or digital coupons, won't be back, good to go for a long time. Nice men that waited on me. Before my recent visit to Boot Barn I had never owned a pair of cowboy/western boots. I had never shopped for any either so therefore had no idea they came in such varieties. I had an idea of what I wanted so we decided to go shopping while in this area. At Boot Barn I saw aisle after aisle with row upon row of boots. Tall boots, short boots, mid-height boots, fancy boots, plain boots, leather, ostrich, lizard, man-made material...you get the idea. Boots are organized by size which is marked within the aisles. They are arranged in no particular order after that. Styles are mixed but I had no trouble zeroing in on the ones I liked. Boots are best tried on. With the different toes (pointed, square, round) and shaft heights it's best to try them on and walk around a bit to make sure the heel doesn't flop up and down and the toe box isn't pinching. Boot size can differ from shoe size, too, depending on the style and brand. Employees offered help but I was fine on my own. I tried on different styles to see what would and wouldn't work and no one rushed me or pushed any sale on me. At last I happened to see a pair and I knew these were THE boots. They had my size and the colors and detailing I wanted along with the toe type, shaft and heel heights. My boots are more than worth the cost. They are well made, high quality and with proper care will last indefinitely. Plus, they are comfortable and look amazing with so many fashions. I've discovered that in Texas, boots can be a year round footwear if you choose and not just fall and winter wear. The pleasant guy ringing up the purchase suggested a boot tree for my boots - a cedar wood adjustable insert that helps boots keep their shape and prevents the instep from collapsing. His reason was not just a selling point, it was sensible. If I'm paying that much for a good pair of boots, I'm going to want to take proper care of them. They do carry a pretty big selection of clothing in western wear, denim and everyday casual. I found a cute maxi skirt with a tasteful patten of colors but when checking it over I saw a hole in it. A part of two panels was missed being sewn together when the serger was used. I found a few flaws on other items so do check before buying. It's easy enough to sew where the serger missed but at the same time you want to buy items you feel were carefully made. The footwear, however, were all very well made. I'm really pleased with my boots and I love them. If you're wanting a nice pair of cowboy/western boots then give Boot Barn a look. They have a style and make for most everyone. read more

They tried to sell me a 600.00 pair of boots that didn't fit properly and tried to tell me I don't understand how boots are supposed to fit. If I had worn them anywhere but on carpet I wouldn't be able to return them. I've been wearing boots since probably before the salespersons parents were born. read more

Go somewhere else. Someone walked off with my shoes while trying on boots. Staff really didn't care, spent some time looking then shrugged their shoulders as if to say sorry and don't care. Only after asking them to make it right did they offer me a 10% discount on the boots I was trying on - the shoes that were taken were worth far more than their 10% discount. James assisted me from the brand of boots to suggesting a matching belt. Everyone in the store was so friendly and easy to talk to. My boots match my belt that match my new Yeti! Poor customer service. Purchased a Cumberland Outfitters western shirt there. Washed it in cold water and then discovered manufacturing flaws in the shirt. Took it back to the store to return it for the same shirt - but to get one this time that wasn't flawed. Was told they had no more of this particular shirt in stock and, because it had been washed, it couldn't be returned - yet, if they'd had it in stock, an exchange could be made. Right. I learned my lesson. If I buy a Cumberland Outfitters shirt in the future, I'm going to examine it minutely before purchasing to identify any flaws. I also won't be going back to Boot Barn. The saleswoman who dealt with us was very polite but the "no return" decision was made by her manager, who had neither the courtesy nor the courage to deliver the message in person. read more

I needed a new pair of boots for a birthday party "hoedown" Since I didn't feel like driving into Houston I chose to come here after it was recommended by a friend. This was my first time visiting and I wasn't sure what to expect. I drove up and there was plenty of parking, I walked in and must say I was really pleasantly surprised. To the right of the store was the ladies section. Right off the bat I spotted a ton of cute clothes. Oh and they didn't all scream cowgirl either, which for me is a really good thing! Not that it's bad to scream cowgirl or anything (please refrain from sending me hate messages) I'm just NOT a true cowgirl kinda girl. I'm more of a city girl that prefers wearing my black pair of lizard or ostrich skin boots with a pair of jeans if we're headed to the family ranch. So, anyway, I selected a few dresses and blouses. I then headed towards the back of the store where they have a ton of cowboys boots. I was amazed on how colorful a lot of the boots were. I was looking for a nice black pair but, I wasn't able to find anything I liked. Their prices seemed to be a bit higher than other places I've been to.
