I spend an eternity in there and usually walk out with my bank account so low, I'm on the verge of homelessness (hyperbole...mostly). It doesn't help that this particular location is nearly sparkling with cleanliness and just about every product is neat and in its proper place. They have a great selection of jewelry and perfume and they are actually my go-to when I need a fresh timepiece or a new pair of earrings. Their jewelry is a little more expensive than some other retailers, but they're of good quality and will last you a very long time. I love their array of home decor. I bought some paintings and assorted knick-knacks there years and years ago and they are still on display at my house because they're unique, still look as good as new, and receive a lot of compliments from guests. In my opinion, their bath and bedding section is top-notch and high-quality. My warm, fuzzy blanket I purchased from them eons ago is still in excellent shape and has only gotten softer and more comfortable over the years. The same goes for my comforter and sheet sets. You may pay a little more, but these products will last for years to come. I don't know if I'm the only one who has a bizarre graphic tee obsession, but on the off-chance you're like me, Kohl's will not disappoint. Their tees are one-of-a-kind and can't be found anywhere else. I just wish they had more of a selection. Overall, their entire clothing department is impressive and sometimes you can stumble upon some really good deals. If you, like myself, aren't swimming in cash, you probably won't find it prudent to shop here frequently, as they are a bit pricey (sometimes, I'd say, a little overpriced). However, if you feel like the occasional splurge for high-quality products, Kohl's is an excellent choice.

My husband and I were here most recently on Black Friday 2025, and although the mall had mostly vacant storefronts, many people were walking around. The mall was clean and maintained, and a Christmas train was set up for children. My husband made an analogy and said that the mall reminded him of an old person who was dying but was in a nursing home that took great care of them (!). I needed to use the women's restroom, and an employee kindly told me its location. The restroom was located past the food court, which contained only some restaurants. The restroom looked old but was fairly clean and worked. During this shopping trip, I shopped in the Boscov's, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Shoe Dept. Encore. I most liked the Boscov's.

The Beaver Valley Mall is magnificent but dead. It's a large mall that is smaller than you'd expect…read moreon the inside, with a beautiful fountain at center court. The interior is very pretty for a mall, and there are cute gathering areas in front of two anchor stores. Many storefronts in the interior of the mall are vacant, and finding a reason to come shop is difficult. The mall is owned by Namdar Realty Group, a known slum lord. Unfortunately, the anchors contribute to the issues. The former Macy's is used by U-Haul for self-storage with part being offered for redevelopment. Rural King does not open into the mall. JCPenney is in the process of closing, which is sad as it's a nicer store for this chain. Boscov's will be the only anchor with access from in the mall once JCPenney's closes. Dick's remains as a junior anchor. The food court is still decent and includes Chick-Fil-A and China Max, along with others. It's a shame a mall this nice looking is in this condition, with empty storefronts everywhere. The future of this mall is uncertain at best.

Then she was rude to my wife when she asked if we could purchase vs rent the particular suit I was there getting fitted for. Separate note, I asked if they had military discount and she cut off the younger gentleman and said no because "people were abusing it". What does that even mean? Anyway, just seemed like one more opportunity for her to take another rude jab. Oh, she also dismissed our request to get our two little boys measured because they were "due for a growth spurt" but given her attitude thus far at this point in the visit, my wife and I are pretty sure she just didn't want to deal with us any further. The younger gentleman and lighter-haired lady working there were incredibly nice, she was very much not. Will avoid this location best we can moving forward, if not Men's Warehouse altogether. Shame for us but oh well.

At the same time, another employee positioned an iPhone near where we were standing, which made us feel uncomfortable and singled out. We are both African American, and the behavior of the employees felt prejudiced and unnecessary. We entered the store fully intending to purchase fragrances, but left feeling disappointed and unwilling to spend our hard-earned money in an environment where we felt judged rather than welcomed.

This particular Nordstrom Rack is in The Block Northway shopping center. This Nordstrom Rack has two floors. The top level contains merchandise for men, children, and home, and the bottom level contains merchandise for women. I focused on the women's clothing. I saw an assortment of shirts, pants, shorts, dresses, coats, and other apparel that previous retailers could not sell. I recognized brands such as Calvin Klein and Nike, but I had not previously heard of some of the other brands. I thought that the prices were low to moderate. I decided to purchase a pair of UnionBay shorts for $23. The cashier quickly and correctly rang up my purchase.

I would describe Boscov's as being between Macy's and JCPenney in quality. Products are often name-brand and designer and are often on sale for low prices. I always shop in multiple departments but focus mostly on the junior's and misses's sections of clothing, which are quite large and take much time to search through. During my most recent visit, I chose a thermal/waffle shirt that was on sale for only $7. I was standing in line at a cash register when an employee told me that I could go to her cash register a short walk away. I appreciated that she did not make me wait to be served. She correctly rang up my purchase and thanked me.
