Boscov's is the largest family-owned department store chain in the U.S. It sells adults' and children's clothing and shoes, accessories, beauty products, jewelry, and housewares (e.g., bedding, bath products, and kitchenware). I live in Allegheny County, which does not have a Boscov's, so this particular location in Beaver County is the closest to me. For at least a few years, I have shopped occasionally in this store. I would describe Boscov's as being between Macy's and JCPenney in quality. Products are often name-brand and designer and are often on sale for low prices. I always shop in multiple departments but focus mostly on the junior's and misses's sections of clothing, which are quite large and take much time to search through. During my most recent visit, I chose a thermal/waffle shirt that was on sale for only $7. I was standing in line at a cash register when an employee told me that I could go to her cash register a short walk away. I appreciated that she did not make me wait to be served. She correctly rang up my purchase and thanked me. read more

I'm giving 5 stars for one reason only..... his name is Dave. He works in the men's department and helped my son and I get suits today. The rest of the Boscovs employees are trying their hardest to avoid working while Dave is still doing his job at an exceptional level. I may add that Dave is well past retirement age and still giving 110%. Seems like people doing what they are paid to do is a thing of the past, it was a pleasant surprise to meet Dave today. read more

Boscov's has a good selection of Mens clothing. I'm usually the most successful here when trying to find some new threads. The best part of the store is Dave in Mens clothing. This guy is nothing short of fantastic...!! He will do everything he can for you. And he is just a genuinely great guy. I had to interrupt three employees who were busy talking at a register for help after approaching them. Dave proactively made his way over to me to offer his help as I worked my way towards his area. I always seek him out when I go there because I know I'm going to get good service. If Boscov's gives out bonuses Dave deserves one. He is an exemplary employee and an asset to Boscov's....!!! read more

I don't live near a Boscov's, but I'm in love with this store! It takes me hours to find what I need in another department store, but not here. I arrived at this store while passing through town, and I had only 40 minutes to shop. I purchased three outfits, and was out the door before they closed. This never happens other places. I am taking one star off because I strongly dislike the name of the store. It's the worst to try and say. I just hate that part of this store. I know it sounds silly, but it seems too complicated. Boscov's is a fascinating place; there's a ton of merchandise in there. The first level is like a cramped JC Penney before JC Penney tried to become Kohls. I can imagine if you're in a wheelchair or have a stroller there will be some tight turns to maneuver. From a merchandise perspective, they carry good brands and consistently have unbeatable deals. The first level has Men's, Outdoor/Seasonal, Women's, and the typical perfume slash cosmetics section. The second level has Toys, As-Seen-On-TV, Kid's clothing, home decor, bedding, mattress, furniture, appliances, and an Optical place. Oh! And there's a candy section. Tons of options here. Juniors has a plus size area. They also have young woman's professional clothing that is in style. Perfect for the office. The auditorium upstairs has great sale items. I bought my rub scrubber here after checking prices online. Boscovs had it cheaper than big box stores and online outlets. There is nothing left to this mall. I hope Boscovs never closes. read more

Old fashion customer service! Free boxes and wrapping paper! The only store I know who still does that!

One word to describe this place: Messy. This is not your typical department store, that is for sure. It is cramped. Hell that might even be an understatement. I came in here to browse and that was hard to do. The racks are so close together that it is almost impossible to look at and item, especially if there is someone else nearby. Not to say that they don't have a lot of merchandise here, because they do. However, the way they have this set up is mind boggling. The store has two entrances from the mall itself. One is the typical entrance by the perfume counter and the other is what I am guessing is their seasonal department. The odd thing about this is that the men's department circles around the seasonal and if you want to keep going in the men's department, you have to bypass grills and patio furniture to do so. We got up to that altar of sugary excess known as the Boscov's Candy Counter this morning and were treated some of the most obscenely delish rocky road fudge in recorded history, all of it made in house. The rest of their candy is made by Asher's (which I shall review) and Godiva among others (I think?). I need to come back to watch them make it...at the candy counter if you can believe your eyes (the pot is on display). A garish exhibition it must be. Confectionery burlesque? P.S. All of the people who work at this Boscov's are very friendly and helpful. This is especially true with the fellow who sold us the candy. Let me start off by telling you what this chain has that most other chains do not offer: a toy department, candy counter, LAYAWAY, and FREE GIFT WRAPPING service at the customer service desk. This store makes its own famous fudge right there at the candy counter. This is one of the very few family owned private department store chains in the country and Mr. Boscov Sr even came out of retirement and invested HIS OWN PERSONAL MONEY into the company to save it when they declared bankruptcy a few ago. That is unheard of today. When they closed a hand full of stores, Mr. Boscov himself made a genuine teary statement to the employees and offered then positions in other stores that remained open. Thus the 5 starts I give it. One thing that customers need to understand, employees are assigned to a department, they DO NOT generally float all over the store and learn each area (there are a few that do this, but not many). A register is located in each department and an employee puts out the stock for that department, straightens, and runs the register at the same time. They DO NOT stand behind the register all day; they even get reprimanded if they are seen standing behind the register if there are no customers to serve. This is how they are able to learn their product and better serve the customers. But that also means they may not know what brands a different department carries. So just walk over to the men's department and look instead of giving the lingerie lady problems if she doesn't know if there are Docker's shorts in men's or not. I worked here for a total of 4 years and while the pay sucked, the company is actually great! I would go back to work for them in a heartbeat if I needed to. read more

You know that movie "Hot tub time machine" ? Boscov's is like that. You walk inside suddenly it's 1980, but in a really good way. The clerks are nice and dressed up. The prices are usually low. They have off market labels and clothes are cute and good quality. They have free gift wrapping and a layaway. They have a candy department on the 2nd floor with handmade candies by Asher's. I love it. I just wish it was closer to Ohio. read more

Big man recliners I bought this recliner 16 months ago and the warranty from the manufacture is lifetime for frame and reclining mechanism I called the store where i bought the chair and they referred me to corporate customer care. They told me that i was on my own as far as finding a repair technician and getting the chair fixed. Would not help in any way,seems if they have your money they dont care. I will buy from regular furniture stores from now on read more

I always find awesome sales here!! It's just your basic department store like penny's or Macy's but there's always some sort of great deal that you can find. I love their juniors department and their handbag collection is awesome too. They also have an awesome candy counter upstairs with surprisingly delicious fudge and chocolates. This is always one of my stops when I end up at the beaver valley mall and honestly one of the only good stores left here. read more

LOVE BOSCOV its like an affordable MACYS they have cheap stuff mixed with more expensive clothes. HUGE SELECTION CURTAINS, bargain tables with sheets, table runners, placemats, napkins, rugs etc... HOLIDAY DECOR MARKED DOWN 80% after HALLOWEEN/Thanksgiving/XMAS/EASTER/4th of JULY etc... cute stuff. The expensive items are major appliances, they charge for delivery and some womens clothes/shoes are expensive. BUT THEY HAVE G8 SALES. read more
