We came in here both before and after having dinner at a nearby bar that had a huge wait (betcha can't guess which one :P ) and really enjoyed it. Felt like a townie bar, definitely not divey, but we were comfortable sitting at the bar with some beers. Definitely got a bit busier later in the night, but they also had a birthday party happening in the back open area. The bartenders were attentive and nice enough, but didn't provide that bartender chitchat you sometimes look for while sitting at the bar. Maybe they're not midwesterners, who's to say ;) read more

Last night was my first time there and the bartender was a creep he gives me the wrong drink but I'm not going to waste a beer so I doctor it up by adding a shot He says he doesn't like what I'm drinking, who cares especially if you're not making a suggestion I needed to use another card. The guy takes my drink away and as I reach for my card in his hand he pulls it away from me just as I grasp it saying he needs to hold on to it. I said "you can't take my drink and keep my card" he walks away as I'm speaking Then returned and rudely says to me "you're still going to pay for this drink" A drink I haven't drank At this point I'm not reaching back in my purse for this guy. So I say "nevermind I don't want the drink" he can't hear me now... So I repeat myself louder fortunately The lady next to me witnessed all this and she felt bad and buys the drink. I thank her and explain that I just felt like the guy was fixated with bad intentions and was being rude so I changed my mind about staying there and I wasn't giving him my money after he treated me that way. Bootleggers is the bar to go to in Lancaster. Beautiful atmosphere and friendly bartenders. Great photo ops, great atmosphere for dancing, great atmosphere for just sitting at the bar and enjoying a drink. The bartenders are knowledgeable and diligent in their work. My wife and I were regulars every Friday night at Susannah's Gallery and Taproom. We were sad they sold the bar, but we are glad the new owners kept the same look and feel. They added more TVs and kept the craft beer selection. In fact, they are going to add more taps and add more cocktails. We hope they get Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey. My wife has a recipe that uses it and she will have a few of them! They have darts and cornhole for entertainment and they are going to add some more games. Drinks are good and reasonably priced. It's a pretty good sized bar for only one bartender though. I had to spend a long time waiting (even with a small crowd) and he really didn't seem to be in much of a hurry to help out the patrons. This is a great neighborhood bar! The building has housed a lot of bars over the years and most have been just been crap. The owners have really rebuilt the bar and have brought back some class to the establishment. The crowd that goes there during the week is a little older and less dance and party and I personally love that. The weekends are more of a younger crowd that dance and are good spirited. I am just not into crowds. The prices are great and it's a great place to go and have a few suds after a hard day of work or a day off. This bar has zero respect for anyone else on the street! I debated on writing this review, but after last night, I'm pretty fed up. I was woken up at 1am from loud music, along with my kids and husband! I called the bar multiple time to ask them to turn down the music before I called the cops. I called from 1am to 1:30 but no one answered. This is not the first time we've been woken from the annoying bass, and childish bar fights. Not to mention the beer bottles that end up around my house, even my back yard! I'm all for having a great time, but I'm Not all for not respecting other people and their property! read more

I went to Bootleggers for the second time in 4 weeks to play trivia on Wednesday night. I have to say it was not fun at all. The first time I went was a good time - our team even came in near the bottom in points - the trivia people did a good job.. However during this second time, in the middle of trivia, one of the owners and apparently a patron they know well, bombarded the trivia host and made them change the game several times in the middle of established rounds because they were not doing well and did not like it. What started out as a fun game quickly changed into a mess and confusion. The owner and patron kept arguing with the trivia host and making them change things in the middle of rounds. Ultimately, the trivia hosts were even confused. They had to make up new rules and guidelines on the fly just to keep these two happy - they were in a bad spot as they were pressured by the owner and their friend. The trivia host was more than nice to two people who were clearly rude. You don;t keep changing the game by bombarding the trivia host because you don't like certain rounds. I have to say I will not be back as when I play trivia I like a fun understandable environment- regardless of where I end up in points. They also do not serve food which is a bad business mistake as most people that play trivia order food as it is around supper time. I feel bad for the trivia host and the situation she was forced into - I will be avoiding this place for trivia and to avoid awkward owner meltdowns. read more
