I was not thrilled with the service here. I was charged $100 for a full set of UV gel, so be aware prices can be pretty steep if they think you've gone too long for a fill-in. The person I had took an hour and a half for the set, and was very careless with the drills. My cuticles got cut a number of times. She also took a wax appointment in the middle of doing my nails, which took about 10-15 minutes. The nails came out okay in shape and color, but there are some deep grooves in them where they were filed unevenly. read more

worst experience ever do not waste your time. my appointment was 12:30, we showed up 12:15 to pick colors. wasn't seated for manicure until 1pm. left at 3:20pm without being able to get pedicure because took 2hrs and twenty minutes for TWO people to do simply "natural color and almond shape" in the end ruined shape of nails & I left without a top coat so 3hrs and left with nothing but roughed up cuticles from 3hrs of filing. my daughters manicure that cost $70 looks like someone stuck bubble gum to her nails. they didn't charge for my nails (I wouldn't have paid) but shocked they charged for my daughters after the awful experience tbh. Oh and I tried to tell them I'd fix the shape with a file myself before they put too coat on (after two hours of botched attempts by the nail lady) and the manager grabbed the file out of my hand and said she would do it. Didn't even ask what I didn't like (guess it was pretty obvious that it was a garbage job) but she only made it worse! read more

It was my first time going and I got gel for 30 dollars which is reasonable. I got a design (shattered glass) which for a full set of nails, all ten, was an additional 20$. They said it's 2 dollars per nail for a design, so I said okay, just do 4 nails then.... They said that's 10 dollars more. The math doesn't make sense and they told me I get a discount for doing all ten. So if four nails is 10 dollars... Each nail design is 2.50$ each- which is a bit of a rip off in my opinion. I would up spending 50$ to get gel with a design on each nail. Overall though, they were busy but seated me quickly, Gina did a nice job on my nails and I would return to her again. My friends are all very impressed by the shattered glass design and I'm happy with it. I didn't like how they handled the pricing though. read more

Customer service needs work. There are tons of nail places, customer service in my opinion, is one the most differentiating factors. I had been going to this place for over a year, every two weeks. 90% of the time someone would assume it was first time. Took me 4 months to learn they had a rewards program. So you think I'm a first time customer every time and you didn't think to let me know that you have a rewards program?? I would get color gel or silk nails. Your made to feel like you are inconveniencing your nail technician any time you want anything outside of a mani/ pedi 3 stars because their end product is good, the place is clean, and the ladies doing pedicure do a great job. read more

They usually do a solid job with brows but DON'T come in on a Friday when it's mega busy. They rush and the last time I came in, there was still debris all over my brow line. So sloppy, I had to get it redone and reshaped at another location. Gel nails are solid. One of the cheapest ($25) in the area, can last for 3 weeks if needed. read more

Have been coming for years although they are more expensive, because they take hygiene seriously. However recently I dropped my 18 year old daughter off for powder gel manicure. They charged a fortune for a mani thats supposed to last up to a month. Within three days my daughters nails were chipping. It was obvious they barely used any product on her. I came to the nail salon on Sunday May 19. Some polishes were an extra charge which I was fine with. I read the charge prior to picking the color with my daughter. I made an appointment and they took me 20 minutes late. While I went to get a pedicure, my daughter sat in the front. The woman that sits at the front table says to my daughter, "That polish is an extra 5 dollars" this other woman says go pick another color. My daughter walks over to me and tells me what happened. I'm neurotic about my nails. My mom and I go every two weeks, religiously, for our gel manicures. We tried Bora on a recommendation from my mom's hairdresser and have been happily coming here for about 7 months. We always have our appointments, mine with Gina and hers with Terry and no matter how busy they get, and they get very busy, they keep them. Because of staff shortage at our old salon we would have an appointment and be passed over because a walk in came in 5 minutes before us, sorry but absolutely not. Gina and her team do a very good job of micromanaging everyone who comes through the door to keep it moving. As for our nails, both my mom and I are happy with the quality of our gel manicures (plus we get the nail hardener I highly recommend to help keep nails strong). This place is amazing! I was recommended by a friend to go here after I saw how awesome her nails looked and how long the gel manicure lasted. Everyone was so nice while I was there, and Gina did an amazing job! I am super impressed by how beautiful my nails look and can't stop looking at them! I got a gel manicure, a mini shoulder massage, and a hand massage with lotion, plus a hot towel! I also really like their points program -- what other nail salon does that?? I usually get a manicure pedicure here and they do a good job plus it is affordable. I usually get callous removal and pretty much everyone does a good job making sure my feet are smooth. I love when they use the hot towel and do their massages. When you're done with your nails they finish it off with a quick back rub which is nice as well. read more

This place is horrible and ridiculous. I've been going to Bora for over 3 years and all of a sudden they changed their prices and started doing a shitty job. It is way too overpriced. They tried charging me 20 dollars just to remove tips. No place charges to remove tips. Also, it is 90 for a brand new set and 55 for a refill. That is crazy. At nick and vans in oradell it is 40 for a new set and 25 for a refill. I suggest you don't come to Bora. They will rip you off and ruin your nails. read more

I like this salon. It's very clean and they are very attentive and polite, despite being super busy. The do a good basic pedicure. With that said, I do have one negative thing to say. The girls that do the pedis do a good job, BUT they have to stop making fun of the customers. Each time I have been there, they talk and laugh amongst themselves and poke fun at the customers. I think they think no one knows what they are saying or doing, but trust me...we know. When I was there last week, they were poking fun at the man next to me getting a pedicure. Why? Because he had hairy legs. Men have hairy legs! What's the problem? Two weeks before that, they were poking fun at an older woman who had heavyset legs and I guess too many callouses. The girls were clearly poking fun. Not nice. The owners have a beautiful salon. Let's make it more beautiful by educating the employees that do the pedicures. read more

Worst gel I've ever gotten!! Many friends suggested this place to me, so I thought I'd give it a try. I went for a gel manicure. I already had a OPI gel (which I had gotten elsewhere), which had been on for 3 weeks, and which my nails were outgrowing (though they had not a single chip!) I asked them to math the OPI color, but they did not have it. The woman suggested a different brand, and kept assuring me that "it was the best, and more expensive than OPI. It lasts the longest". I believed her and let her use it. She rushed through the whole manicure, and pressed down on my cuticles until they bled- not enjoyable! All of that was fine, until a few days later, when I noticed the nail polish starting to lift from the corners of my nails. Then, 6 days after my manicure, I look down to find the nail polish had completely come off of one nail. I made an appointment to have it fixed. After waiting for 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, They fixed the one nail, but refused to fix the others that were lifting after just 1 week. The manicurist told me that "had it been less than a week they would have done it". When I told her that it happened yesterday, and it was less than one week, she had no comment, and basically ignored me. WOULD NOT GO HERE AGAIN!! WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!! read more

The wait time is ridiculous. My gel manicure took over two hours. The worst part was price switching. They tell you one price over the phone and when you get there it's totally different.
