Deceptive practices by reception!!! Upon check-out, I was informed that my wax pass had only one more service and that they were running their summer promotion. I was initially not going to renew my wax pass - SOLELY - because it made more sense for me to pay individually with how infrequently I actually needed a wax anymore. I was informed of the pricing on my pass and remarked how it was LESS THEN HALF of what it normally was (I had purchased the pass before), and she GUSHED about how their promotion was the best deal she had ever seen. I repeated myself to make sure that the pricing was correct and she reassured me that it was, so I re-upped on the pass, they said they would charge my card on file 'for the full amount' I was quoted, and I felt fine about the renewal given the deal and knowing it wouldn't expire. 2 months later, my credit card is charged again, for the same amount I paid the previous month- as if I am paying installments for a service I initially did not want to renew. I am livid. Customer service does not respond to emails, and the phone number to make appointments does nothing to resolve this issue either, as they have no idea what they're doing. This is not the first time I am having billing issues with EWC- and that previous time they didn't resolve it either. I'd imagine with the competition from other means of better hair removal these days, they allow these people to behave in such an immoral way. I will place a dispute with my CC company and should that fail, be sure to avoid this location for any and all business, which is a shame, as the aestheticians / waxers are lovely people. What needs to be improved is the service of the staff. The woman who did my wax was good but there were four woman in the front who were just sitting around chatting and plucking each others eyebrows and leaving me there to sit for 30+ min but the woman who waxed me was lovely read more

Shea did my wax today... she was slow, and it was painful. The thoroughness and high quality I get from elsewhere was not here. She didn't seem nice or happy to be working. Originally they told me being a first time customer there I would get 50% off but because I had opened up an online account in Nanuet I couldn't get apply it. I still have hairs visible and she refused to go over them with wax again. I don't reccomend here. Go to Kristen Dillon in Englewood NJ. She is the fastest and most painfree professional for $60. First time coming here today. I've been sitting waiting to get my service done as I type. My appointment was at 7:45pm, I got here at 7:40pm and it's 8:15pm and I'm still waiting. I usually go to the Englewood location but they closed early today. Always stick to what you know! This place is HORRIBLE!! What I waste of time, I just walked out. I was hesitant to book due to the negative reviews but my experience today was excellent. I booked a Brazilian with Destine. She was excellent. She explained every step, made me feel comfortable and gave me tips to ease the pain. I've been waxing for years and this one is one of the best Brazilians. Very little to no pain, got every hair, wax was at the right temperature, room was clean and I was in and out in 15 min. If she ever leaves I will follow. Also the receptionist was super nice. She offered products without being pushy. She was patient with me as she tried to look for my information. I would highly recommend Destine for your Brazilian wax. read more

I went to get a full face waxing from this location on Sunday. My face was burning tremendously after the waxing, and started to turn raw. My skin was damaged from the waxing (see photos). The damage was so bad I needed to receive medical treatment. The doctor told me it was waxer error that lead to my skin damage. I spoke to the manager Jackie, about this issue, and she asked me to email the photos of my skin damage. She since has dropped the ball on the issue, and my emails and calls go ignored. I never really wanted the year long wax package, but the store was so insistent and wouldn't let me be until I caved in. Once they have your money, they could care less about you. I want my medical expenses paid, cancellation of my wax plan, and reimbursement for my first payment of my wax plan. This business is very unprofessional. Stay clear!!! A bunch of scam artists. I had to contact my credit card company to stop payment and any future charges and I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. What a disgrace of a business! read more

This place is awful. I have been 3 times. The first time my skin under my eyebrows was waxed off, I thought you know it happens, maybe I am sensitive. I went to someone else the 2nd time, telling her I think I'm sensitive to temperature please cool the wax extra, she did, but then my eyebrows were uneven. Today I went for a third time, and again made sure to say I'm sensitive please cool the the wax. And once again, my skin was waxed off. She pulled the wax so slowly it was painful and is now burning. I hope I don't end up with an infection. I am reasonable and understand things happen but 3 bad experiences is enough. DO NOT GO HERE!! Unless you are ready to be disappointed. read more

This is strictly towards management. My wax girl was Alexis and she was INCREDIBLE. In fact, it was my last session so I went to purchase a new package. The package would've come to $532(??). I happened to have $250 in cash and gave my credit card for the balance to be paid over another 3 payments as per their payment plan policy. Here's where it all went downhill. 4 payments should have come to approximately $132 each. The girl could not figure out how to take my money and apply it to my account (I had cash so why not use it?!). So, she gives me change for the $250. I was like, "I don't want the change. Apply it to my account." She told me that was not possible. WAIT. WHAT?! You can't take my money??!! Can someone please explain this to me. So, I decide to cancel my purchase. Well...can't do that either bc the manager isn't there and won't be back until the next day. Can anyone please explain to me why an employee who is in charge of the cash register does not have the capacity to accept money nor the ability to refund money? It took 45 minutes and several calls to the manager and help center (45 minutes) in order to be refunded. And I don't blame the employee. She was doing what she was told. This is absolutely the poorest managerial style I have ever experienced in my life. How one expects employees to handle money yet does not give them the knowledge or electronic capability to do so is simply incomprehensible. 8 hours later I still cannot wrap my head around this experience. DO NOT GO HERE!! i've been coming to this location for years now... here and there the people who work here are very mean they can throw some digs at you. Today was my LAST time coming here ever again. I get an eyebrow clean up so not much work. But today the lady who did my eyebrows burnt the lids of my eyes from the wax. Both my eyes are swollen and my skin is blistering. I have gotten burned here before but not as bad as today. It's so bad that my mom wanted to take me to the ER. The specialists need to know how hot their wax is before applying on a persons skin. This is very dangerous and i will not be coming back here. I called to talk to the manager and she wasn't there. I love this place because all of the people are so polite, welcoming, and they engage in great conversation, however, I have to rate 3 stars because I feel that the one waxer, Patricia needs to work on her technique a bit. She lets the wax harden way too long on your skin, making it way more painful than normal upon removal, and having to rip it off in broken pieces, rather than one cohesive piece. Yes I strutted out, but with a sore Brazilian area, and spots of blood and wax stuck to me. Also upon examining myself, she didn't even remove all of the hair in the area so I'm a bit disappointed. read more

Terrible customer service. I scheduled an appointment online for my daughter to get an eyebrow wax and received an email information. When I arrived they didn't have the appointment in the computer. I showed them the confirmation email and the manager Jessica refused to honor my appointment. do not go here. if i can give this review zero stars i would! this was my second time here i had an eyebrow appointment and they put me with kateya. she messed up my entire eyebrows/shape/ everything. i specifically told her only clean up and not to touch the shape. she did the complete opposite. not only she messed up my shape she took off the beginning part of my eyebrows and created a huge gap between them. never in my life i have had this issue until now. she thinned out my eyebrows, took out the first part of it and made them so ugly. i do not recommend you to go to this place or get your eyebrows done by her. biggest mistake ever. read more

I have been going to this location since it opened. They have gone through a number of waxers, but I finally found someone that I like a lot, Kimberly. She does a great job and is a pleasure. My only issue is my last visit with the reception area. I went in for an appointment, that I had rescheduled. I checked in and the receptionist said no your appointment is not with my waxer of choice it's with someone else. I said I only use the one person and was confused bc when I called to reschedule I asked what said waxer had available on another day. Instead of saying, I am sorry, she asked me if I booked my appointment correctly. Now, I am a grown woman and I know how to make an appointment. I said yes, she then blamed the call center for the mix up, but again never apologized. It was just major attitude. Luckily I had no other plans for this time of day I was able to come back about 2 hours later, but when I came back the receptionist pretended she had no idea who I was. Then asked me about what services I wanted. Again, no apology for the mix up. It was unreal. I am giving this place one more chance, bc I am comfortable with my waxer, but if customer service up front doesn't improve I will go to another location. read more

I've been to many of these centers and always had a good experience, even at this location. But I sent my daughter for an eyebrow wax and the technician burned her eyelid badly. I don't know if it is because it is a newer center and the technicians arent that experienced, or if it was a bad day, but I would be very careful, especially with a technician whose name starts with E. read more

Girls at the front desk always seem to have an attitude and act like your bothering them when you come in. Most time there is no one at the front desk when I come and I end up waiting for at least 5 minutes until someone comes out to help. Twice one wax specialist rushed and was not gentle and botched my eyebrows . Plus they are way too expensive as far as the wax passes go. I will not be renewing my wax pass. My only experience is with the owner Larry Davis .. He had done about 3/4's of my husbands work.. Which was AMAZING , and detailed to ever piece . Not only is he a great artist with tattooing but free hand as well . He painted an AMAZING mural on my eldest daughters wall !!) My rating is strictly for my waxer that i had Mariaa, she's super sweet, and made me feel so comfortable and i literally didn't feel any pain at all. She made sure to talk me through the whole process and gave me great advice on how to take care of my skin. As for the front desk every time i go they always seem lost and are always messing something up. Went there on a Sunday with my little sister as she wanted to get her eyebrows waxed and the Paramus location was closed. They had a trainee do her eyebrows who completely reshaped her brows and filled them in before she could look at them. She was nervous to make a complaint or say something so I went inside with her to make a complaint. They said we would get a call from the manager the next day. It's been almost a week no call. Wouldn't recommend this location because they had someone do her eyebrows incorrectly and who wasn't suppose to be doing them. Much like another reviewer, I made an appointment without requesting a specific waxer and I lucked out! I got Alexis, who insists that it's the wax they use that makes it SO much less painful (I won't say painLESS, it's wax ripping out hair, be realistic....but it's really manageable and much MUCH less than I have experienced at the hands of other waxers at various salons). The wax may have something to do with it but I am sure it's also her technique. Somehow, a full Brazilian just doesn't hurt that much with her. And she is friendly and makes you feel completely comfortable. The place is immaculate, every staff member I have encountered is delightful. I love the convenient location of this wax center. They do a great job on my eyebrows. What I don't like is the up selling. I already have a wax pass, yet every time I come in, they try to sell me one. When I tell them I have one, they try to sell me some other kind of product. Big turn off. Even when you say no, they try to convince you to buy whatever it is they are selling. The last time I came in, I was less than 5 minutes late for my appointment and I was told they couldn't take me (the receptionist was new, I think, and was just going by her script). After speaking with another receptionist, they honored my appointment (it took several minutes of back and forth though). Today, I was on time for my appointment, yet they took me 10 minutes late. No explanations, no apologies. Unacceptable, since they make a huge deal when YOU are the one who is late. I will continue to come here so I can use up my wax Pass, but the customer service needs a lot of work. Train your employees a little better. This issue isn't isolated to this location though.
