They have plenty. Want to relax? They have a spa. Want to try your hand at a variety of workouts? Take your pick. It was due to this last reason I went there. I had found them on ClassPass and saw that they offered Zumba. I hadn't done Zumba for the longest time and was itching to do one. This place provided that and then some. Amira at the front desk showed me around. Much appreciated. Seems all three buildings in this plaza all belong to the same place. Funny how I had passed near this area many times and never noticed this was around. I think it's one of those that you don't find what you don't look for. Shrug. They're open daily, and depending on the day, they close earlier. Such is the case on weekends. The café they have closes at 3 PM. As for the classes themselves, they usually go up to 8 PM or so unless it's the weekend (hence them closing earlier). As of right now, I can only comment on their Zumba class. It was taught by Cristian who started the class late and ended it late. Seems the yoga class from before got held up. At any rate, he made the class pass you by. He also went around, correcting moves, and it seems students generally like him. I found his class a bit intense. It was difficult to keep up. New moves, new routine. Definitely not the Zumba I'm used to. Very fast paced. I burned more calories than I usually would. Super happy with that, but ouch, you definitely feel it the day after. I'd be curious to see the style of their other instructors.

What a great find…read more If it wasn't for ClassPass, I unfortunately would have not know this place existed. I started with an intro yoga class with Javier (sidebar, LOVE him) and then later found out that they have all sort of classes. Think Pilates, Zumba, etc! ***Unless you're a yoga master, I highly recommend checking out one of Javier's classes. He is passionate about form and won't let you form any bad habits. Perfection.

Years ago this group was in Oakland Park, and it was amazing. I visited the group now in 2026 in…read moretheir Lauderdale by the Sea location, and I could not have been more disappointed. The environment was super cliquey and unwelcoming. No one but a couple of staff even spoke with me, and some "clique" members were outright rude. The most upsetting part of the visit, other than the dismissiveness by the "members" to me as a newcomer, was my interaction with the resident teacher after the class. A few people were standing around chatting, and after thanking the teacher for the class, I pointed out that I was new and a bit surprised to see the center used plastic cutlery and plastic water bottles. The words were barely out of my mouth when she cut me off. She became visibly annoyed and defensive. Ironically, her teaching that day had been on the perils of self-cherishing, and on compassion for others. Well, her reaction to my comment was highly incompassionate and very self cherishing! Talk about non-consistent! [As an aside, my understanding was that Buddhists care for and do no harm to all living beings - hence my surprise about the non eco-friendly kitchen stuff]. Anyway - the fact that attendance at the old center was 50+ people on the main nights, and that it is down to maybe 10 people at this site, probably tells you everything you need to know. After this experience, I did a Google search on this center, and discovered many others had had similar experiences. For example this: "Many former participants across different NKT centers report that the social dynamic becomes heavily insular. The core group of volunteers and dedicated practitioners frequently forms a tight, unapproachable "clique" centered strictly around serving the resident teacher and maintaining the building. Newcomers or returning casual practitioners often report feeling ignored or viewed solely as potential recruits for the harder study programs, destroying the organic, warm community feel that older centers like Oakland Park used to have." - Reddit. Amazing. Almost identical to my experience. What a shame. I'm staying away.

I have been traveling to Miami a lot in the recent months so I needed to find a studio to visit…read morewhenever I am there, since I don't wan to stop practicing yoga just because I am traveling. This is how I discovered and fell in love with Plank Yoga studio which is conveniently located 6 minutes away from where I live. The studio's vibe is very clean, the decoration is minimalistic the floors are light wood which contribute to this cleanliness vibe and the color scheme is white and purple. There isn't a whole lot going on in the studio, just the check in desk a small waiting area with an even smaller retail area. Yes the studio is tiny, but the number of people they accept is limited so you will never feel like you can't stretch because you will hit a fellow Yogi. I took a Power Vinyasa class with Taly Ostfeld who is the studio's owner and man was that class challenging. It consisted of a traditional Vinyasa Flow sequence but on steroids. The transitions were incredibly fast and the workout was mostly core-centric. My boyfriend who is a little less experienced in Yoga than I am, told me his abs were hurting for two days. This is not a class that I would recommend to someone who is a beginner but definitely one I would suggest to someone who wants to practice Yoga with a cardio component to it. Overall I was very satisfied with my experience at Plank and will be visiting it again in the future. There are two downsides to this studio which are the fact that they offer very few classes during the week and also the classes are super expensive. At $25 per class they are more expensive than even the most expensive studios in New York and buying big class packages does not lower the cost per class. Towels and mats are included which I guess compensates a little for the price of the class.
