I went to Revive Med Spa July 2021 for an enhancement on my chin and to help the puckering around…read moremy lips. I picked Revive because they seemed to have good qualifications. At 72, my chin is receding and I thought a little supplement on the jaw line would help my appearance. My daughter had it done in Montana and it looked great on her so I took the plunge. Although Stephanie Gho is well qualified and extremely personable, I was very disappointed with the procedure. It was expensive for a little bit of filler to lengthen my chin and plump the wrinkles around lower lip (but cost would have been worth it, if it worked). Stephanie injected me and then massaged the gel into place and told me not to touch it or sleep on it at all. I did as she instructed and even slept sitting up so as not to disturb her work. I woke up in the morning and could not believe it, but each area she did was worse than what we started with. I didn't have high expectations, as at my age I have to be realistic--but I did NOT expect both areas to look worse! My daughter could not understand it--but she did say that when she got her procedure, they told her to gently massage it for 24 hours so that it would not clump up and would spread evenly (Stephanie told me the opposite). I don't think Stephanie evaluated me properly and I suspect she does not have enough experience to do injectables (that is only an opinion). I called them immediately and did get a call on my voice mail asking me to send pictures. I sent the pictures and never heard from them again. Fortunately the injectables are NOT permanent and I am pretty much back to normal now--but very disappointed in being charged so much for a failed procedure and then ignored. I would not recommend this facility at all for three reasons, 1. costly, 2. inexperience 3. no support for failed procedure

They are true medical professionals and make you feel comfortable with the whole process. I would say services are on the side of higher/spendy, but there are promotions and opportunities to save. I recommend trying if you're unsure, there's no obligation or pressure to continue services. I have received numerous compliments on my skin and in my 40s that's amazing given poor complexion/acne I suffered through most of adulthood.

(Why didn't this receptionist simply offer to call me when the Medicare approval was on board? I called two times within one month and scheduled an appointment when I learned they COULD accept Medicare patients. At the appointment Dr. Martell told me he could do my surgery procedure. I called after I had a mammogram per his request. I called to ask if the mammogram images had been received because I hadn't heard from any of the doctor's staff. I was told that they couldn't schedule surgery yet BECAUSE THEY HAD NOT YET BEEN APPROVED FOR MEDICARE. I asked a staff member that I was told that they had been approved for Medicare patients. The staff member said that she didn't know why I was told this. Then she told me that it "might be a month or so" for Medicare approval for their office. One month later I called. No medicare approval yet. Same staff member told me that I was "at the top of their list." Another three weeks went by. Then I received a call from the same woman who told me that they could see Medicare patients. After the red flags regarding the honesty and competency of both physician and staff, I chose to go elsewhere. I have decades of experience working in healthcare clinics and I'd never experienced such a duplicitous and scheming medical practice. I'd add that during my examination, Dr. Martell presented with a smug and dishonest attitude. I encourage people to leek at Alaska Med Grades to read the complaints from two women who went under Dr. Martell's knife. One was horrifically disfigured and the other got a serious infection which resulted in five days in a hospital for IV treatment. Here are those reviews: October 21, 2021 Please do not see this doctor for anything. Had breast cancer and double mastectomy, I now have one fake boob resting in my armpit and the other side burst out completely along scar. Please please save yourself from this kind of pure tourcher. Jan 22, 2018 Did not do the surgery he initially discussed with me and failed to address my concerns of an infection which resulted in a 5 day hospitalization and over 30 days of IV antibiotics. Was very cold and dismissive when I brought up these concerns. Civilian surgeons and infectious disease doctors were shocked that my ankle had been allowed to get in that state.

We had Hubbard send a clipping to a lab to have it tested. He was to call us if further treat was needed. He didn't call. Fortunately, the office failed to send the billing information for my insurance to the lab, so the lab reached out to me. Yes, the test was positive and my daughter was not being treated during the months between the test and us finding out that the doctor should have called us. We made an appointment and I asked the doctor why he hadn't followed up. He ignored me, so I asked again. His response was a very condescending "I'm not going to spar with you." Getting any sort of treatment plan from him was a matter of having to be super careful about his feelings and try to get him to just tell us the options. I still don't know why they didn't follow up on tests that he ordered. I sure hope we can find a different podiatrist in future. This guy is a rude, arrogant, condescending jerk. Seems competent otherwise, which is why he gets 2 stars.

TLDR: The doctor refused to listen to me when I told him an anti nausea medication didn't work for…read moreme and I had to go back a second time for help. I had to pay twice because the doctor wouldn't listen to me. They had my insurance but didn't bill it and instead the bill went to collections and it is still a fight over a year later. Honestly the worst hospital experiences I have ever had. I had an ovarian cyst right after having an appendectomy and was experiencing a lot of pain due to it. What I didn't realize was that it was rupturing while I was in Fairbanks. I was on oral prescription pain medication but it did not completely control the pain and my nausea kept me from keeping it down. As the pain got worse the nausea got worse and I could not keep any medicine down. I went to the ER where they gave me zofran and had me take the pain medicine orally then made me leave. I told the doctor that zofran did not work for me (after 4 previous trips to ER due to nausea and vomiting) but he ignored me and said it will work. He ignored me, gave me nothing to go home with, and basically said you have meds so you can deal with it. He also would not help with the nausea or pain until I got an ultrasound for the cyst I already knew I had. So I had to go to the ultrasound room crying, throwing up, and in pain. I went home and kept throwing up and the pain came back just as bad because I could not keep the pain medicine down. I threw up everything including water. So I had to go back to the ER. The nurse and doctor were different and both nicer the second time. The doctor listened to me and gave me a different anti nausea medication through a shot and IV pain medication. It worked significantly better and the pain was lessened. I was still in pain but not to the point of throwing everything up. He gave me a prescription for the anti nausea meds that actually worked. While I was still crying in pain, it was more manageable. I asked if there was anything they could do and the doctor told me not until my surgery to remove the cyst which was two weeks later. Now it is over a year later and I am still struggling with billing. Both from the hospital and the physician. The hospital did not send the physician's office my insurance information and as a result the bill went to claims. The hospital billing department was never even remotely helpful. Regardless of the community in Fairbanks, my experiences here have been so bad that I refuse to live here once I graduate because it is the only hospital available.
