This is my 3rd year having Born lawn care and I am thrilled with how much my lawn has improved. I had the worse lawn on the street and now I have the best(my opinion) lawn on the street. The guys are very professional and respectful of the property and I really appreciate what a great job they do. They work quickly and efficiently. The price is typical of other providers but the value is in people! We also subscribe to fertilizer service. Making our lawn thick and green. Thank you for another great season. read more

We paid $2,374.58 to Born on May 6, 2025, which was half of the amount for the completed job. We have had very little contact with Born and have called several times and left numerous emails and text message for someone to contact us concerning our job. We did have a man (Brad) come and measure the area where the concrete was to be poured. He assured us that thy would be here to pour the concrete the following week. It has been several weeks since then and they have not shown up or contacted us. This a very bad business. read more

At first the services seemed ok but when applied weed control we had to have them come three times to actually get the service we paid for. The receptionist really leaves a lot to be desired. Doesnt answer the phone, comes in whenever she feels like and cannot make an accurate appointment. We canceled all of our sevices because of her!!! read more

We had someone from Born's come quote trimming an overgrown hedge, the gentleman was very thorough. We talked through that things may take a year or two to fully grow back in the way wanted, but it was doable. We were told a rough timeline (a 2-3 week window the following month), and that someone would reach out to a few days in advance to coordinate. Outside of the scheduled time, and without notice, I happen to hear the crew working away one day. They happened to be working on a stepstool not even 2ft away from my car in the driveway and hadn't thought to call or knock and have me move it to prevent a potential scratch. Luckily I caught it and moved the car, I went back inside to work until they were done. The crew left without notice. The work they did was absolutely terrible. I knew things would look bare in areas given the amount to cut back, but it was a complete uneven mess. Our neighbors who's yard the hedge shares even commented to us it was not well done. We called Born's to have someone come back out. To their credit the new crew came within a week, and knocked on the door to let us know. While it looks less uneven, it is still a complete mess. Noone had reached out to see if we were satisfied, and of course our card on file was automatically charged. We then discovered that the crew had stopped cleaning up their cuttings in an area to the side of our garage that isnt as easily seen. We had to clear what filled more than 3 lawn bags full of spiky barberry branches. Not so fun times after spending big bucks to hire 'experts'. I know mistakes happen, but this was terrible service in so many ways, and way more expensive than other options, that I have to tell others to think twice. read more

Brendon and crew removed my leaves (I live in the woods:) yesterday and I couldn't be happier. It took hours but when they left, my yard looked great. I try to get ahead of it but I never can. I'm sure my neighbors are happy too! They got the leaves out of the bushes and cut down the pampas grass. They arrived as scheduled and the cost was comparable to other estimates. Leaving this review on behalf of my mother. She used Born's for snow removal this winter (20-21). First big snow, took 2 days to show up and my mother still had to hire others to clear the drive and sidewalk ( which she pays more for). Second major snow after they plowed there was still 2+ inches of mostly packed down snow that I had to shovel for her. The drive had not been used so she didn't pack it down I assume that the plow driver did and still no sidewalk done (which she pays extra for). She has tried to call numerous times with no response. She has tried to email with no responses. I believe someone called her to ask a survey question and then was talked to about the issues with no resolution to them. I would not recommend this business. read more

Do not use or sign any contract with this company. I am writing this on behalf of my mother. My mom is 82 years old, sold her house and moved out of state in August 2022. In April 2023, this company did service at the house and emailed her the invoice. She called right away and told them she no longer lived at the house. Joyce told her that they emailed the automatic contract renewal and she had to pay for that. After my mom told Joyce she no longer was the owner of the house, they came again on 06/30 to do another treatment. This time they knew that they no longer had access to the house because she was not the owner, but they treated the loan anyways. What company does that to an 82 year old woman? Now she owes 4 treatment??? (with no explanation from the company) and this ruthless people sent the invoice to collection. She tried multiple times to get in touch with the owner to get an explanation but no answer. Dishonest and illegal (since they knew that the house was not hers anymore). Disgusting. Love how the owner is responding to positive comment and all others are promptly ignored. read more

I had Borns fix our lawn and install a couple flower beds with trees after we got a patio installed. Lawn looks fine, but there's a flower bed that immediately had grass begin growing in it. Plus, we have a drainage issue they said they could fix. I can live with the drainage issue since it's not year round. However, I have been asking for months to get someone to pull the grass out of the flower bed since I paid thousands and they messed up. I was in the schedule but no one showed up. No communication, hard to get anything from them for a service call. I'm at the point where I have to make a negative review to try to get attention. If they get someone out to rip out all the grass, I'll edit this post. read more

Lawn looks terrible after 5 months. Half burned out and I watered well all season. Plus this company doesn't know how to communicate. They don't call before they show up. They are supposed to. And the guy never calls back ever. Called 5 times I 2 weeks only to talk to some office girls that don't know anything. Piss poor company period. I seriously wonder if they know much about lawn recovery or more importantly do they know anything about the chemicals they spread? Do yourself a favor call someone else. I've been a customer of this company for a few years. The first year I hired them, they did a pretty good job on mulching my yard and fertilizing. However, that first year I had to call and complain because the crew parked their truck on my driveway and it leaked oil all over the place. I called to complain and they offered to power wash my driveway for me, however no one ever showed up to do the job. The second year I asked for mulching service and they never showed up. I wasn't charged but I asked for a service, signed a contract and they never did the job. This year I was stupid enough to ask them to mow my lawn. They have been here three or four times so far this year all on different days. The last time they were here they only cut half of my yard because they claimed it was too wet in the back for the large mower, however they could've done it with a push mower. There have been two instances where they crew dropped off one man with a mower to cut my grass so they could do another lawn at the same time, however no edging was done because the man didn't have the tools to do it. Now my grass hasn't been cut in a week and a half. The grass is so high that I wouldn't be able to do it with my small push mower that I have and my small dog can't go to the bathroom in the lawn. I'm worried about ticks in the tall grass and it looks awful. I called multiple times and emailed and have been told that they are behind because of the weather, however it hasn't rained in days. In addition, I received an invoice from them on the portal for the month prior and it immediately said it was past due. The day it posted, it was telling me it was past due. They didn't even give a 2 week timeframe before posting it as late! Needless to say, I will be cancelling my service with them after they clean up the mess that's out there now. I do not recommend this company - save yourself the frustration and hire someone else to do the job. read more

My family met with Jared in April. We discussed what we wanted and he sent me a quote within a week. We paid him over $3000 on May 4th to cover half the cost for the work that we agreed would be complete by Memorial Day. It took multiple phone calls and emails for work to even begin. Then the agreement changed due to weather which we understood to 90% completion by Memorial Day. Here we are, it's 7/10 and I'd say we're at about 90% completion. Communication is non-existant. We just want what we paid for and it shouldn't be this difficult to get that. read more

I had this company come out to give me a estimate for landscaping. The gentleman was here for about 45 min. We went over everything and I was told that he would email me a quote in a week. Well it's been about 16 weeks. Never heard back from him. I'm sorry but if you own a company and you tell a customer you are going to do something you need to follow through. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!! They left my lawn with piles and piles of grass, along with grass all over the driveway and the front porch! "Cleaning up is not included in the mowing price" which is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of! No regard for customer and a complete ripoff. Go anywhere else!! contracted, in the spring, for all new landscaping and to mow and care for lawn all summer. have been greatly disappointed. had to call several times to get a plan...and then was not really drawn but a rough idea sketched on paper only after I insisted on knowing what he had in mind. little creativity. does not seem to know much about plants and what will thrive in shady areas. plants put in were small and not healthy to begin with...have asked for dead plants to be removed and replaced several times and still no action on this. thankfully we have not paid Jared in full yet. mowing is haphazard. they mow too quickly always in same direction which bends grass over, not really cutting it. within 2 days would never know grass was cut. have asked them to lower blade but never have. cutters are defensive when you ask them to change direction, slow down, drop blade. issue with weeds after all new landscaping. the weeds not killed prior to laying mulch so just came back up. when man came out to spray he sprayed several of the new plants, too and a patch of wildflowers that I wanted...all are now dead. cannot get Jared to replace these. mulch laid down was a washed out brown, already faded...was it old? put down a very thin layer, barely covering the ground. asked for more mulch...was promised more mulch...still no more mulch delivered. def. do not recommend this company. they do not respond to issues without constant calls to company and even then says he will be in touch and does not call or act. wanted all new landscaping to enjoy all summer and instead looking at dead plants and weeds. am very unhappy with job done. do not use this company! read more
